Happy birthday, September babies! Wonderwall.com is taking a look at their best and worst fashion moments from the stars born this month, starting with Sept. 9 birthday girl Michelle Williams. Our least favorite frock on the star has to be this one — her 2020 Golden Globes look by Louis Vuitton. We weren't wild about the muted orange hue and the strange accoutrements at the sleeves truly lost us. Don't worry, there's another Vuitton frock that redeemed this one!

There's no denying that Gwyneth Paltrow is an icon, and though her fashion is polarizing, it always turns heads. The Sept. 16 birthday girl served up this funky look at the 2020 Golden Globes and created quite a stir. The divisive brown Fendi frock definitely wasn't our favorite look from the star — the dress was sheer and she strangely wore her accessories underneath the fabric.

Zendaya is impossibly stylish, but not every red carpet appearance from the superstar has been a hit. Take her 2017 "The Greatest Showman" premiere look in Sydney, for example, where the beauty — who was born on Sept. 1 — arrived in this costume-like butterfly Moschino dress complete with a wing detail and a thigh-high slit.
Our favorite Zendaya look was tough to choose, but we're going with this slinky silk Ralph & Russo number in bold purple and marigold that she wore to the GQ Men of the Year Awards in London in 2018. We loved the gown's beaded bodice, slit and cascading black bow on the left side — which corresponded perfectly with those black heels.
Unfortunately, Marion Cotillard spends a lot of time on the fashion miss list. One of the Sept. 30 birthday girl's most flagrant misses? This bizarre getup she wore to the Cannes Film Festival in 2019. The Balmain coat was fine on its own, but when paired with the strange selection of a black crop top and shorts by Ludovic de Saint Sernin, this look fell apart completely. She topped it with a collared diamond necklace and ankle booties, which didn't help matters either.
Finding a fashion hit for Marion Cotillard wasn't an easy feat — but this 2017 Cannes Film Festival look in a glamorous navy hue certainly was stylish. Her Armani Prive gown with a dramatic neckline and slinky thigh-high slit up the front was elevated with sparkling embellishments.
Lili Reinhart's Teen Choice Awards look in 2017 wasn't a win in our book. The Sept. 13 birthday girl's entirely sheer maroon frock with a black bodysuit underneath adorned with a big bow at the neckline was disastrous.
Much better! Lili Reinhart donned this dreamy ballgown at the 2019 Golden Globes. The ruby red Khyeli Couture design featured romantic ruffling at the neckline and a tulle skirt that draped down to culminate in a lengthy train.
Kaia Gerber celebrates her birthday on Sept. 3. Our least favorite look from the young model? Her 2018 CFDA Fashion Awards ensemble — an edgy Alexander Wang getup that screamed pajama-chic. The look featured a cropped oxford, silk shorts, tights and nearly invisible heels, delivering a seriously funky vibe.
This Ralph & Russo outfit is hands-down our favorite from Kaia Gerber. The beauty donned these dreamy pale blue separates — complete with a cold-shoulder cutaway crop top and a high-waisted skirt with tiered ruffles — at the British Fashion Awards in 2017. The perfectly placed ruffles and silver embellishments and the fact that paired it with perfectly matching heels took this look to the next level.
Our least favorite Taraji P. Henson look has to be this bizarre combo from March 2020 — a long-sleeved top with a corset design drawn on tucked into black leather pants. The star, who has a birthday on Sept. 11, also rocked plum-colored over-the-knee boots, making this an oddly leather-heavy ensemble.
You rarely go wrong in velvet, and Taraji P. Henson proved this at the 2019 Golden Globes. She donned a rich green velvet gown by Vera Wang that featured a banded waist and a daringly low neckline and added a collared diamond necklace for some sparkle.
Sept. 12 marks Kelsea Ballerini's birthday. The country crooner's most unfortunate look went down at the 2019 People's Choice Awards — a bubblegum pink two-piece Raisa Vanessa ensemble that included an insanely ruffled crop top with sheer long sleeves and a ruched miniskirt. Though we loved the color, it overall felt more like a costume than couture. Next we'll see our favorite look from the star…
This blazer-style dress from the 2018 American Music Awards is our all-time favorite look from Kelsea Ballerini. The singer's Nicolas Jebran minidress featured long sleeves and a wraparound skirt in a blazer-inspired silhouette. We adored the yellow and black color combo and the way it featured a zebra striped detail at the waist. Finishing things off? Those killer studded pointy-toe heels.
Eek! While we love Rosalia's music, we didn't adore this Maria Escote outfit that the Sept. 25 birthday girl wore to the MTV EMAs in 2018. The two-piece look featured a pink ruffled top (very reminiscent of Kelsea Ballerini's ensemble a few slides back!) and high-waisted pants that had their own ruffling down the leg. She finished off this strange flamingo-like ensemble with a pair of chunky white sneakers — delivering a fashion miss.
Rosalia's take on a leather dress at the 2020 Grammys marks our favorite look from the singer. Her dark red Alexander Wang dress featured a collar and three-quarter-length sleeves, multiple thin belts and a fringed skirt. When it came time for shoes, she went with edgy clear heels to complete her cool ensemble.
Sept. 4 marks the one and only Beyonce's birthday. Her worst look? Well, that went down at the 2016 Met Gala when she arrived in this polarizing Givenchy gown that set the internet on fire. People noted that her latex couture appeared to have pimples all over it thanks to its strange raised circular embellishments. Next up? Our favorite Bey look…
From the vibrant orange hue to the draped single shoulder, the Lanvin frock Beyonce wore to the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards remains our top pick. Not only was the Grecian-inspired dress beautiful, but she wore it to debut her baby bump when she was pregnant with daughter Blue Ivy Carter.
Is it fringe? Or a badly executed black-and-white pattern? This funky frock Padma Lakshmi wore in 2018 scored our worst look from the star, thanks largely in part to that optical illusion of a skirt. The two-piece look also featured a non-offensive short-sleeved crop top, but that skirt had already lost us. Next up? The Sept. 1 birthday girl's best look in our books…
Padma Lakshmi's most beautiful look? This crimson design by Ester Abner that she wore to the Creative Arts Emmy Awards back in 2018. Padma arrived in style in the dark red frock with one thick strap, impeccable draping and a thigh-high slit and beautifully paired it with strappy black sandals.
Naomie Harris rarely makes a fashion misstep, but the Sept. 6 birthday girl scored a miss with this look. She arrived at a BAFTA event in Los Angeles in 2017 in this puzzling Thom Browne getup comprised of a pink, red, white and blue jumpsuit topped with a short-sleeved yellow-and-white jacket with elbow-length sleeves. She completed the look with busy — but perfectly color coordinated! — pointy-toe pumps.
A rainbow Gucci dream! Naomie Harris donned this lovely multicolored Gucci gown at the Cannes Film Festival in 2017, and it continues to be our favorite look ever from the star. From the delicate orange spaghetti straps to the sweet tulle striped skirt ranging from lime green to pale pink to hot pink, we adored every inch of this romantic confection.
Pretty and polarizing! That's the best way to sum up Salma Hayek's red carpet fashion. In honor of the star's birthday on Sept. 2, we're first reminiscing about our least favorite look — this hot pink Alexander McQueen design. Short-sleeved frocks are never easy to pull off, but the funky silhouette paired with that bright animal-print fabric made this busy look a miss back in 2014.
Salma Hayek served up a sweet Cinderella-inspired Gucci moment at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival. She donned this sleeveless pale blue number with embellishments along the neckline and waist, culminating in a pretty, frilly skirt.
Jennifer Hudson celebrates her birthday every year on Sept. 12. Though we love the "American Idol" competitor-turned-Oscar winner, this ensemble she wore to the "The Voice UK" final photocall in April 2019 wasn't our favorite. The Basil Soda design was part elegant evening gown mixed with an edgy black leather corset, and though we appreciated the dichotomy, the execution didn't work quite as well as it should have.
Her best look? Jennifer Hudson stunned at the 2019 Academy Awards in this ruby red Elie Saab gown. From the solo long sleeve to the perfectly placed ruffles and slit up the center, the fabulous frock worked perfectly with her slicked-back hairstyle and metallic sandals.
We've been following Nicole Richie's fashion since the '00s. And when it comes to a look we can't rave about, we've got to pick this mismatched ensemble from 2018. The reality star and designer, who was born on Sept. 21, paired a silky printed long-sleeved shirt with a black metallic polka dot-emblazoned skirt for a funky look that fell flat.
We loved this casual and impossibly cool outfit comprised of a white silky tank top by Josie Natori and a navy blue floor-length skirt by Galvan with a slit up the front that Nicole Richie wore in 2017. To complete the ensemble, she added black chunky wedge heels and rocked an artfully messy updo.
Sorry, Catherine Zeta-Jones, but this Golden Globes gown you wore back in 2016 remains our least favorite look on you. The star, whose birthday falls on Sept. 25, donned a Zuhair Murad design with an overdone sheer skirt and plunging neckline and landed on many worst dressed lists that night. We're all for shiny frocks and love the color pink, but Naomi Watts' combination of the two fell flat in 2019. The Nina Ricci frock appeared wrinkled and too reflective for our taste and the high-necked, long-sleeved silhouette didn't help matters. The star, who celebrates her birthday on Sept. 28, showed off much better fashion a few months later…
