Summer is coming to a close, but not all of the stars' sartorial choices have been red-hot! Check out Wonderwall.com's rankings of the best and worst dressed celebs this August, starting with one who falls in the latter category this month — Kim Kardashian West. We know tiny sunglasses are in, but we just can't get behind them on the red carpet. The reality star arrived at a Los Angeles event on Aug. 21 rocking the questionable eyewear while posing in a skintight pink latex dress and clear pointed-toe pumps — and yet somehow this bizarre combination was still upstaged by another accessory! Is that… a pink carton of french fries with a rainbow on it? Yep, that is indeed the shape of Kim Kardashian West's clutch. No word on exactly why she was carrying the blinged-out bag, but considering she's talked about being on the keto diet, maybe it's because she misses eating carbs?

We don't know what's worse — the way Madonna hijacked the Aretha Franklin tribute by talking about her own career at the MTV VMAs on Aug. 20, or her hideous outfit. The ensemble, which many labeled cultural appropriation, was trying to accomplish way too much. From the Temperley London kimono to the crown to the layers of necklaces and those awful red shoes, it's no surprise that Madonna is a miss this month.
We adored the gorgeous floral dress that Jenna Dewan wore to an event in Los Angeles on Aug. 18. The spaghetti-strap white frock was the perfect selection for a summer day and was made even better with those amazing metallic sandals.
Sometimes just one accessory can ruin a good outfit. Case in point? Rose Byrne's Dior dress at the "Juliet, Naked" premiere in New York City on Aug. 14. The star wore this lovely strapless floral frock, but we couldn't get over the chunky black belt that killed the whole look for us.
The best dressed man at the MTV VMAs on Aug. 20? That was definitely Shawn Mendes! The Canadian crooner sported the unexpected color combo of a navy and dark green suit jacket with skinny trousers and a pair of black boots. Making things even more fashionable? He opted to wear a printed black-and-white dress shirt underneath to spice things up a bit. Move over, Harry Styles!
Green leopard print is never a good idea. Rita Ora donned this Tom Ford disaster at an MTV VMA pre-party on Aug. 19 — a neon-green leopard-print long-sleeved minidress with… wait for it… different-colored animal-print tights underneath. Ouch, our eyes!
Suit-jacket-style dresses have been all the rage this summer, and Millie Bobby Brown is the latest star embracing the trend! The actress attended a "Stranger Things 2" screening in New York City on Aug. 21 in this black version with a white T-shirt underneath. She finished off her edgy, stylish look with a pair of strappy heels.
Hot Topic chic? Maisie Wiliams attended a screening of "The Miseducation of Cameron Post" in London on Aug. 22 in this getup. The outfit, which looked to be straight out of a Hot Topic at the mall, included plaid pants, a black top with buckle detailing and studded black heels.
Tyra Banks looked like a golden goddess at the "America's Got Talent" season finale in Los Angeles on Aug. 14. The legendary model wore this stunning gold gown by Stello, which featured a high neck, long sleeves and a mermaid-style skirt.
Blake Lively arrived at the 2018 MTV VMAs on Aug. 20 in this bizarre Ralph & Russo ensemble. The matronly look — a suit jacket over a shirt atop incredibly wide-legged pants — earned her a spot on many worst dressed lists (including ours).
Though we weren't fans of her pink dress and odd accessories this month, while out in Miami on Aug. 17, Kim Kardashian West killed it in this neon number. The eye-catching two-piece look, comprised of a one-shouldered crop top and skirt with a thigh-high slit, was complemented nicely by neutral heels resulting in an edgy end-of-summer vibe.
We're usually huge fans of Lucy Hale's style, but the actress disappointed at an event in Los Angeles on Aug. 17. Those extra-wide-legged trousers drown the petite starlet, and the simple black top and odd selection of bright yellow heels didn't help matters.
We're obsessed with Jessica Biel's pastel blue Elie Saab jumpsuit! The actress wore the look at a screening of her show "The Sinner" in New York City on Aug. 15. We loved the sweet scalloped straps and the way she paired it with a pair of white pointy-toe pumps.
Iggy Azalea opted for pantsuit while out in New York City on Aug. 21. The only problem? The print gave us a headache! The very busy red-and-white checkered patterns in different shapes and sizes created an almost dizzying effect. That, coupled with the fact that the combo was ill-fitting, made this look a messy miss.
Jane Seymour matched the red carpet at the "Little Italy" premiere in Toronto on Aug. 22. The actress sported a bright red fitted dress that she paired with nude peep-toe pumps for a cheery, stylish look.
Amber Rose certainly made a splash at the MTV VMAs! The star inexplicably showed up in this latex devil costume and a pair of fishnets — two months before Halloween. This loud look earned her a spot on the miss list.
Thandie Newton has been on a fashion high of late, and this dress by The Vampire's Wife is helping her continue that streek! The star sported this gorgeous minidress featuring ruffling along the hemline and sleeves and a pretty purple floral print at the "Yardie" premiere in London on Aug. 21. Cementing this look as one of our favorites of the month? Those heels!
Debra Messing's style never ceases to confuse us. While attending a screening of "Searching" on Aug. 20, the actress sported a youthful sparkly black frock complete with sheer sleeves and a bow detail at the neck, but ruined the overall look with a pair of chunky lace-up combat boots.
Victoria's Secret Angel Romee Strijd looked stunning in this white pantsuit with black trim at the brand's Secret Bra Fit launch event in London on Aug. 22. A lacy pink camisole underneath and a pair of amazing white sandals completed her fresh look.
This one took our breath away… in the worst way possible! "Younger" star Nico Tortorella arrived on the MTV VMAs red carpet in a fishnet tank top, plaid pants that also had dizzying white stripes and an oversized black trench coat full of symbols and words. We suppose that's one way to get noticed!
Olivia Culpo embraced pops of color while attending an event in New York City on Aug. 21. The star stepped out in the simple combination of jeans and a white T-shirt and elevated her look with a colorblocked blue, yellow, pink and black jacket and a pair of bright red heels.
While promoting her latest flick, "The Meg," on "Despierta America!" in Miami on Aug. 10, Ruby Rose stepped out in this unfortunate frock by Off-White. The highlighter-yellow design was part halter, part short-sleeved frock and featured a whole lot of extra, from sheer fabric at the neckline to a logo-emblazoned band below the bust to lace bordering the sleeves and hemline — all amounting to just too much in all areas.
A beauty in blue! Mandy Moore wore this fabulous electric blue leather minidress while attending the "This Is Us" FYC event in Los Angeles on Aug. 13. The Isabel Marant frock featured an edgy knot detail across the bodice and puffed sleeves, but it was her shoe choice that cemented this look as a hit. We're starry-eyed over those satin pumps by d'Orsay.
We'll give her credit for keeping with the theme of her film's name! Kesha stepped out ahead of an Aug. 9 screening for her new movie, "Rainbow – The Film," in this black Gucci garb covered with rainbow panther heads. Unfortunately, this wasn't the only time this print made the miss list this month…
Nick Cannon showed up to host the Teen Choice Awards on Aug. 12 in the same Gucci rainbow panther print — only his was in the form of a sweatsuit. Sans shirt. To finish off his multicolored ensemble, he added some neon yellow high tops. Sorry, Nick, but nope.
A dream in dusty rose! We loved the sweet A-line frock that Jessica Alba wore to the Nylon Beauty Innovator Awards in New York City on Aug. 8. We adored the simple elegance of the dress, while the addition of chunky black heels kept things a little edgy. This look was strikingly similar to another one of our favorites this month, which we'll get to next…
Camila Mendes also opted for a pretty, light-pink frock this month! The "Riverdale" star brought a touch of soft, romantic glamour to the pink carpet at the Teen Choice Awards on Aug. 12 in a thick-strapped confection with a full tea-length skirt that paired perfectly with her impeccably matched heels. Those drop earrings were the perfect accessory.
Emily Ratajkowski kept up her stellar summer style streak with this slinky gray number, which she paired with chunky white sneakers while out in New York City on Aug. 1.
Continuing to make the case for the slinky dress and chunky sneaker combo? Hailey Baldwin! The future Mrs. Justin Bieber wore a perfectly summery white minidress with a pair of monstrous white kicks while out in New York City on Aug. 9, and though we don't entirely understand it, we're pretty sure we haven't seen the last of this trendy new look.
A Fendi jumpsuit? On paper, that sounds great, but the outfit as executed on Fergie? Not so much. The star attended the FOX Summer All-Star Party in Los Angeles on Aug. 2 in this all-over Fendi-print one-piece, and it made us dizzy just looking at it!
White-hot! We adored Kelly Rowland's two-piece getup at the "BlacKkKlansman" premiere in Los Angeles on Aug. 8, which was comprised of a twisted crop top and wide-legged trousers.
A good example of what not to wear during the summer? Look no further than Blac Chyna's bizarre getup! The star wore this maroon hooded sweatsuit in Los Angeles on Aug. 3, which she perplexingly chose to pair with hot pink socks and black slides… in the middle of summer… in Los Angeles. You do you, Chyna!
During "Dog Days" promotional duties, Nina Dobrev sported this stunning velvet minidress while out in New York City on Aug. 8. We loved the short-sleeved, fancy frock and the way she paired it with those amazing strappy black heels.
What's going on here? Megan Fox arrived at LAX Airport in Los Angeles on Aug. 7 looking like she was ready for sleep-away camp after she stepped out in this bizarre combo of a blue T-shirt, navy shorts, a bandanna tied around her neck and hiking boots.
Jennifer Garner looked sleek in black at the Hollywood Foreign Press Association's Annual Grants Banquet in Los Angeles on Aug. 9. The star rocked a blouse-and-skirt combo, with matte black on top and a shiny black on the bottom, and finished it off with a pair of black pumps.
A Moschino belt couldn't save this getup! Lindsay Lohan was spotted shooting her new MTV reality show in Greece on Aug. 8 in this unfortunate frock — a completely sheer floral-print dress that she accessorized with a logo belt and black sandals.
Brown with black polka dots! Though the concept doesn't sound ideal, Leighton Meester pulled this tricky look off at the ABC All-Star Happy Hour event in Los Angeles on Aug. 7. The Zimmermann frock featured long sleeves, a plunging neckline, a belt in corresponding brown-and-black stripes and a slit up the front to jazz things up.
Sometimes LBDs are fashion misses! At least they are when they feature bizarre additions like this one! Charlize Theron attended the Hollywood Foreign Press Association's Annual Grants Banquet in Los Angeles on Aug. 9 sporting this black minidress with an asymmetrical hemline, a pleated skirt and a strange oversized, wilted bow detail at the bottom of the frock's plunging neckline. Though we weren't fans of the dress, we did like her funky strappy pumps.
With Los Angeles experiencing a late-summer heat wave, Kendall Jenner certainly had the right idea on Aug. 7. The model sported a tiny teal bandeau top with a pair of high-waisted and ripped black jeans while out with friends. Though we would have gone with a less winter-y shoe choice, her boots did look pretty cool.
We adored Olivia Holt's Teen Choice Awards look on Aug. 12! The star looked stunning on the pink carpet in this gorgeous emerald green minidress by Daniele Carlotta. The fancy full-sleeved frock featured a plunging neckline and was complemented perfectly by her strappy Nicholas Kirkwood heels.
Make up your mind, Gabrielle Union! The star left a party in Los Angeles on Aug. 12 in this Stella McCartney number that had us seeing double! The half plaid, half pinstriped dress seemed to be split down the middle asymmetrically while also featuring a collar, long sleeves and a button detailing. We're not fans of this frock.
Yara Shahidi looked red-hot on the "Crazy Rich Asians" premiere red carpet on Aug. 7 when she stepped out in this pretty Prada confection. The minidress featured delicate ruffled detailing in tiered layers, which worked great with Yara's matching strappy heels.
Dalmation vibes! Nina Dobrev sported this unfortunate frock by Valentino on Aug. 5, and though we loved how it was on-theme for the "Dog Days" premiere in Los Angeles, from a style-judging perspective, it's certainly not our favorite. There was too much fabric going on between the full-length skirt and the long sleeves, but we did like her strappy heels underneath.
The seemingly ageless Candace Cameron Bure attended the Teen Choice Awards on Aug. 12 in this beautiful rosy-hued number. We loved the slinky silhouette and the slit plus the way the "Fuller House" star finished things off with a pair of strappy black sandals.
Can someone remind Paris Hilton that the aughts are over? The star sported this hideous two-piece Moschino combo at LAX Airport in Los Angeles on Aug. 2, a look comprised of a super-cropped top complete with a garden motif and matching pants emblazoned with the designer's name. Making this unfortunate outfit even worse? Those ballet slippers she paired it with. Eek!
Dianna Agron scores an A+ for this super-summery getup that she wore in Los Angeles on Aug. 8! We loved the short-sleeved floral frock, which looks to be the perfect amount of easy and breezy, and the way her funky black sandals balanced out the sweet, romantic vibe of the dress.
Katherine McNamara rocked a puzzling getup to the Teen Choice Awards on Aug. 12 — and we have so many questions! The star sported a bizarre, super-long trench-style striped blazer with a pair of mismatched striped shorts by Emporio Armani. Underneath, she opted for a cropped black tank, and she finished things off with a pair of Casadei over-the-knee boots. Yikes!
Butterfly beauty! Reese Witherspoon donned this darling long-sleeved Monique Lhuillier dress featuring a black-and-white butterfly print to the "Shine On With Reese" premiere in Los Angeles on Aug. 6.
Though we adore Ruby Rose, we weren't crazy about this marigold Prabal Gurung look she wore to the premiere of "The Meg" in Los Angeles on Aug. 6. Though the color was stunning, the various elements — from the bizarre high neck to the side cut-out to the sheer skirt — were just not working for us.
Leave it to style maven Rachel Zoe to wow us in summer whites! The former celebrity stylist stepped out at the Shutterfly x Baby2Baby Backpack Drive in New York City on Aug. 1 wearing this pinstriped white suit with a black blouse underneath and finished her look off with platform black heels.
Oh, Bebe Rexha! We're pretty sure we can count on one hand how many times she's delivered a fashion hit — and this isn't one of themt! The star sported this pink latex-like pantsuit by La Roxx with a beaded August Getty bustier underneath at the Teen Choice Awards on Aug. 12. We weren't fans of the tacky getup, or the way she paired it with mismatched yet equally neon pink Prada pumps!
Vanessa Hudgens wowed in Marchesa at the "Dog Days" premiere in Los Angeles on Aug. 5. Her strapless pale pink confection featured ruffled detailing halfway down the skirt, which gave way to a sheer skirt and an equally glamorous sheer, ruffled train.
We're all for a cheery summer look, but we weren't fans of Brooklyn Decker's literal rainbow dress at the Black Forest Gummy Harvest in New York City on Aug. 2. Though we didn't love the frock, we were big fans of her gold pumps!
