Ball gowns, neon hues and full skirts galore! The 2018 Emmys did not disappoint in the style department, with many stars putting their best fashion foot forward. As for the others? Well, we've rounded up the best and worst looks of the night, starting with someone who missed the mark — Emilia Clarke. Her Dior dress was all over the place, from the bodice of sheer lace and floral pattern to that skirt of alternating sheer and floral panels, and we weren't fans of the odd frock. Issa Rae's custom Vera Wang design was our favorite look of the night. From the powder blue shade to the beautifully embellished bodice to the unexpected pants underneath the layers of delicate fabric on the skirt, every piece of this wispy confection was perfection.

Mandy Moore donned custom Rodarte for the Primetime Emmys, and though the dress was certainly sparkly, the oddly shaped silhouette detracted from the funky metallic fabric. We weren't fans of the look, or the way the shimmery style caught the light when it photographed. Mandy deserved both an Emmy nomination and a better dress!

Alexis Bledel's style is never consistent, but we were disappointed she didn't pull out a hit on Emmy night. This strapless pink Delpozo gown (with the added touch of the night — a dash of neon in the form of a randomly placed tulle panel) really disappointed us. Making things worse? We were so excited to see Claire Foy's Emmys getup, but this one really let us down. The star selected this simple and boring strapless Calvin Klein frock with mismatched strappy heels (one had studded detailing, one did not), which we chalked up as a miss. But from the back, it was a different story… just like her hair and makeup!

Fashion deja vu? We feel like we've seen this dress on Heidi Klum before. The shiny champagne-colored strapless confection from the Zac Posen Resort line came complete with a train but was a snore in a sea of many more interesting dresses.

Gwendoline Christie looked like a golden goddess at the Emmys! The "Game of Thrones" beauty looked lovely in this long-sleeved shiny gold gown with a plunging neckline and a golden rope-like belt.
Mario Lopez had an unwanted accessory on Emmy night — a boot! The host donned a suit with shorts instead of pants to help accommodate his boot after having surgery on his Achilles tendon earlier this summer. For that reason, we'll give him a pass on the shorts and loafer choice.
Sarah Silverman also sported a dramatic black ball gown. Her strapless Galia Lahav frock featured mounds of tulle, belted at the waist, with cascading tiered layers for that extra glam factor.

Regal in Ralph Lauren! Zazie Beetz wore this ombré plum velvet dress from the designer's Fall 2018 50th Anniversary Collection featuring hand-embroidered crystals, beads and stones on its unique neckline and off-the-shoulder straps. She accessorized with even more Ralph Lauren by adding flower chandelier earrings and a woven gold bracelet with citrine and rose diamonds by the designer.
A miss for Megan! Megan Mullally's odd tulip-adorned frock resulted in a fashion nope in our book. From the sheer sleeves to the button detailing to the massive floral designs, there were a lot of things wrong with this getup — though we did appreciate her perfectly matching clutch.
Holland Taylor also opted for red and green floral details, but with more success than Megan Mullally. The actress' long-sleeved black frock with red flowers and leaves running down the sides just had a more subtle floral feel. She also nailed the matching clutch, selecting red instead of green.
Angela Sarafyan brought the glamour on Emmy night. The "Westworld" actress donned this beautiful black ball gown by Christian Siriano, which featured hundreds of tiny studded embellishments that made her dress sparkle on the red carpet.
Trevor Noah cleaned up nicely for the Primetime Emmys on Sept. 17. The TV host donned a dapper black tuxedo by Musika Frere and opted for a classic black bow tie.
