Fashion hits and misses of 2017

Charlize Theron opted for the trendy crop top as a bra look at the world premiere of her film "Atomic Blonde" in Berlin on July 17. The star opted for a white Dior bralette with a matching high-waisted skirt, which she finished off with a pair of equally stark white heels.

Fashion critics were divided over the fierce custom yellow Oscar de la Renta ensemble that Rihanna donned while launching her latest Fenty Beauty collection during New York Fashion Week on Sept. 7. She paired a long-sleeve T-shirt tied at the waist with a voluminous skirt featuring a thigh-high slit that showed off her laced René Caovilla sandals. Whether you loved it or hated it, it was certainly one of the most memorable looks of the month — if not of the year!

J'adore! Jennifer Lawrence donned a gorgeous ballerina-inspired Dior Haute Couture gown with a nude bodice and a voluminous skirt featuring floral appliqués during the Venice Film Festival premiere of "Mother!" on Sept. 5.

We love a redhead in red! Jessica Chastain stunned in a beaded tulle Zuhair Murad slip-gown during the Toronto Film Festival premiere of "Woman Walks Ahead" on Sept. 10. She channeled Old Hollywood with the rest of her look, with red lips, her long locks flowing in loose waves and one stunning diamond earring.

Oh, Anne Hathaway. We struggled to like the vintage Armani Prive gown she wore to the New York City premiere of "Colossal" on March 28. The dress, which appeared on the runway in 2006, had fun feather-like detailing down the sides, but it was the detailing at the collar that really lost us. Let's take a closer look next…

Maybe next time you're picking a dress for the red carpet, make sure it doesn't hide your pretty face! The obscenely high collar on Anne Hathaway's Armani gown covered the lower portion of her face, making it difficult to weigh in on her beauty look.

Blake Lively was a vision in white in a form-fitting knee-length Ralph & Russo creation at a special screening of "All I See Is You" in West Hollywood on Oct. 10. We especially loved the unique flower details at the waist.

Emma Stone's on-the-nose sartorial tribute to "La La Land" gets an A+ from us (and not just because the flick was one of our favorite movies of the year)! The star's nude Valentino gown, which featured delicate star detailing — a nod to the film's song "City of Stars" — solidified Emma as one of the best-dressed actresses at the 2017 Golden Globe Awards on Jan. 8.

What happens when Little Bo Beep loses control in a Michaels craft store? We imagine something like the custom Lanotta Studio coat that Lady Gaga donned during the Toronto Film Festival premiere of her documentary, "Gaga: Five Feet Two," on Sept. 8. The superstar paired the bizarre top — which featured one houndstooth-print sleeve, multi-colored strips of fabric along the shoulders and collar and a jagged hemline — with shiny wide-leg pants that gave us major trash-bag vibes. No, no, no.

An instant miss? Lena Dunham's bizarre "Girls" premiere getup. Lena showed up in this vintage Todd Oldham look for the New York City event on Feb. 2. And while the ensemble — a sequined skirt and black tank top with corresponding sequins along the straps — isn't as bad as her typical red carpet style has been in the past, it's the hair and makeup that really threw us for a loop.

We're not sure where to start with this one. Lena Dunham opted for hot pink eyeshadow, which ran around her entire eye for a jarring raccoon affect. The rest of her makeup was relatively subdued, save for her notably pink lips. She showed off a full fringe, tying her hair up in a ponytail, and then over-accessorized with black and silver jewelry.

Miley Cyrus dressed in theme for the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas on Sept. 23. The singer-actress wore a heart-print crop-top with a matching gloved duster and sheer pants over red underwear. Needless to say, we did not heart this look.

We're used to Chanel delivering classic red carpet moments, but we're not accustomed to the looks being this cool. Kristen Stewart executed this two-piece Chanel design flawlessly at the "120 Beats Per Minute" premiere on May 20. The star donned a pink bandeau underneath a scoop-necked, overalls-inspired black-and-white fitted dress for an unexpected and underrated look.

Queen! Angelina Jolie looked regal in a stunning pleated Dior Haute Couture strapless dress during a special screening of "First They Killed My Father" in New York City on Sept. 14. Simple yet super-chic!

The dress that launched a thousand rumors! Halle Berry showed up at the annual Chrysalis Butterfly Ball in Los Angeles on June 3 in this Gosia Baczynska gown, which caused speculation that she was expecting a child. The star and her rep both later denied that Halle was pregnant, but that doesn't change the fact that this dress was just all-around unfortunate-looking — pregnancy talk or not! Halle rocked the form-fitting minidress comprised of sequins and weird black mesh netting at the neck and hemline with a matching long blazer over top for a major fashion miss.

Celine Dion made an appearance at the Christian Dior show during Haute Couture Fashion Week in Paris on July 3 as well! Celine opted for a cohesive look by the fashion house — rocking this mustard-colored shirt dress with all-black accessories. We're obsessed with this hue!

More mustard! Karlie Kloss also attended the Christian Dior show during Haute Couture Fashion Week in Paris on July 3 in rich dark yellow shade. We're huge fans of Karlie's look and the way shem like Celine Dion, opted for black accessories, but our favorite part of the look was a complete surprise when she turned around! See that next!

Have you ever seen a chicer way to cart around a hat? We sure haven't! Karlie Kloss wore a wide-brimmed black hat tied around her neck and slung on her back.

Kim Kardashian West donned one of the most divisive looks of the month during the Tom Ford presentation as part of New York Fashion Week on Sept. 6. The mother of two squeezed into a curve-hugging strapless PVC dress by LaQuan Smith that had some fashion critics using the word "vulgar," while others (like us!) were simply left marveling over the latex creation's mechanics. We also loved the way her long silvery tresses complemented this slick look, and, hey, her body has literally never looked better!

Ryan Gosling and Gucci are a match made in heaven. The "La La Land" star, who was nominated for best actor at the 2017 Oscars, opted to wear a tuxedo by the design house with a throwback ruffled shirt underneath and an oversized bow tie for this year's ceremony. Perfection!

Katy Perry attended a dinner hosted by Chanel in celebration of the Gabrielle bag in Los Angeles on April 6 in this unfortunate getup: black pants with a striped waistband, a completely sheer patterned top, what looks to be a sports bra and a shiny cropped track jacket.

Sienna Miller looked adorable in this pleated, pretty Chanel number at the "Cat On A Hot Tin Roof" play afterparty in London on July 24. The feminine frock featured frilled sleeves and tiered layers of delicate white fabric and gold embroidery. Next up? Her fabulous beauty look!

We loved Sienna Miller's cool-girl tousled waves, and the red lip that matched the detailing on her Chanel dress certainly solidified this whole look as a major hit.

Kerry Washington topped the best dressed list in a black-and-white Carolina Herrera confection with embroidered polka dots and intricately crafted poof-sleeves during the Women Making History Awards in Los Angeles on Sept. 16.

Mandy Moore donned a gorgeous Rosie Assoulin sheath with orange and navy panels, gold filigree details and one flower-embellished shoulder strap during the premiere of the second season of "This Is Us" in Los Angeles on Sept. 26.

Not just anyone can pull off a blazer as a dress — but Bella Hadid sure can! The supermodel rocked this hot pink blazer by Off-White at the CFDA Fashion Awards in New York City on June 5, and by simply adding a belt transformed it into the perfect, pretty party dress. Those cool black and clear heels also helped her cause. A+!

It can be hard to spice up an LBD, but Kendall Jenner nailed the challenge at the "Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets" premiere in Los Angeles on July 17. The actress donned this off-the-shoulder, funky little black dress by Carmen March while out to support pal Cara Delevingne, and we loved the gown's asymmetrical cuts and bunched, long sleeves.

Claire Foy has been killing the fashion game during her promotional duties for her upcoming film "Breathe." She stunned in a Gucci gown that was practically a work of art during its BFI London Film Festival premiere on Oct. 4.

We wondered when this day would come. As crop tops and bralettes become more ubiquitous on red carpets, it was only a matter of time before someone literally just wore… a bra. Halsey tried out this look (which we hope doesn't become a trend) at the Billboard Music Awards on May 21, opting for a shiny white brassiere by Sergio Hudson. And the bad fashion didn't stop there — it continued down to her floor-length khaki skirt by Juun J. This one's so bad, we've got to take a closer look…

When it came to adding accessories to the bra and khaki skirt combo, Halsey didn't do much better. The singer opted for bangles on her wrists and what seemed to be the earring of the night at the award show: gold hoops.

"Game of Thrones" beauty Sophie Turner certainly turned heads on the SAG Awards red carpet in this red-hot Louis Vuitton gown with a center slit and unique mismatched straps.

Cee-Lo Green nabs the award for the most bizarre look for February. His Grammys style was unexplainable — a strange gold frock that covered every inch of him from head to toe.

Emma Watson sported amazing style while attending multiple premieres for her film "Beauty and the Beast" in March, but this look from March 13 was one of our favorites. The black Givenchy number featured a stylish geometric design on the bodice with a diamond cutout in the center as well as a thigh-high slit on the left side.

Elle Fanning rarely misses when it comes to fashion, but her look at the "How to Talk to Girls at Parties" photocall during the Cannes Film Festival on May 21 left us scratching our heads. The Prada minidress was a fun hue, but was strangely emblazoned with a cartoon woman. The shoe selection, a matchy-matchy, clunky pair of Laurence Dacade heels, didn't help matters.

Kaley Cuoco delivered a fashion hit at the InStyle and Warner Bros. Golden Globes afterparty on Jan. 8. We loved the star's sparkly silver Tommy Hilfiger gown, which featured cap sleeves and a plunging neckline.

Kylie Jenner in Balmain? Shocking! Okay, so that's really not surprising at all, but the slits on this dress? Though we're into the deep purple color, a crop top plus side slits seemed like overkill. Now get a better look at this dress she wore to the Marie Claire Image Maker Awards on Jan. 10 from another angle…

Kylie Jenner's Balmain gown featured major cutouts along the side, showing off plenty of skin in addition to the stretch of stomach exposed by the crop top.

Zoe Saldana had one of our favorite looks of the 2017 Golden Globes on Jan. 8 — this beautiful pale pink and red silk chiffon gown by Gucci that featured an asymmetrical tiered ruffled skirt. Our favorite part had to be the blush satin bow that held it all together.

We're typically Chrissy Teigen devotees, but this outfit lost us. The supermodel rocked this strange combination — a printed, belted robe-like wrap dress that looked like it came straight from a rack at the local mall — to the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition launch event in New York City on Feb. 16. The thigh-high lace-up boots didn't help matters either. Sorry, Chrissy!

Adele arrived at the Grammys in this gorgeous green Givenchy gown. The superstar's dress featured intricate patchwork-like detailing on the bodice and a striped pattern along the skirt. But our favorite part of her Grammy style? Her beauty look! Get a better look next…

Adele rocked her signature cat eye paired with rosy hues on her lips and cheeks and a warm smoky eye. We were also wild about her glam updo, which featured artfully arranged side-swept waves.

Fit for a princess! Taraji P. Henson donned one of our favorite looks of the night at the Screen Actors Guild Awards on Jan. 29: an ethereal purple Reem Acra gown. We loved the tiny bow detailing and beautiful beading on the top layer of tulle.

Diane Kruger wowed at Cannes, but it was her Dior dress at the Anniversary Soiree during the Cannes Film Festival on May 23 that really took our breath away. The blonde beauty simply stunned in pale, scalloped, tiered layers. See if from a different angle next!

From the back, Diane Kruger's Dior number was essentially backless, save for two dainty straps. We loved the way the layers of tulle fell behind her, making for an ethereal red carpet moment.

Selena Gomez looked retro-chic in the best way possible during the Harper's Bazaar Icons party as part of New York Fashion Week on Sept. 8. The singer-actress donned a long-sleeve blush Valentino dress with a high collar and added to the throwback vibe with her quasi-bouffant partial up-do. She added pops of color with her coral heels and green clutch.

Scarlett Johansson opted for this awful Michael Kors Collection getup at the Tony Awards on June 11. The star wore this matronly pinstriped suit jacket and skirt combination and added insult to injury by belting it.

A vision in red! We were obsessed with Cara Delevingne's red Mugler ensemble. The supermodel-turned-actress wore this look during CinemaCon in Las Vegas on March 28. It featured a blouse with a plunging neckline and a fitted leather skirt with edgy zipper detailing.

Marion Cotillard's fashion disappointed multiple times during the Cannes Film Festival, but this had to be her most egregious offense. The actress wore this '80s-inspired nightmare of a shimmery blouse to the festival's 70th Anniversary Dinner on May 23 and finished off the unfortunate top with a belt and leather pants. Ouch.

We adore Carey Mulligan, so we hate to say that she wore one of our least favorite looks of the month — but alas! The Oscar nominee donned a bizarre sea foam green Gucci dress with a black-and-gold overlay and three gold bands around the bodice during the BFI London Film Festival premiere of "Mudbound" on Oct. 5. What we REALLY hate, though, is the silver … thing … running along the neckline and down the front of her dress. Seriously, what is that? And WHY?

And the award for the strangest accessory on the red carpet possibly ever goes to… Jaden Smith! The actor wore a sleek Louis Vuitton getup, complete with a trench coat, slacks and a heeled boot at the Met Gala on May 1, but it was what he added to the ensemble that eclipsed the all-black look…

Jaden Smith's first odd accessory? His old locks! The star recently had to cut his hair for a film role, so naturally he decided to tote around his old hair on the cream and blue carpet… which has to be one of the strangest additions to a Met Gala outfit of all time. Don't worry, Jaden had one more surprise up his Louis Vuitton sleeve…

Let us see your grill! Aside from carrying around his own hair, Jaden Smith also accessorized with a grill in his mouth like it was 2005. Not so avant-garde, Jaden!

We hated Jada Pinkett Smith's Alexandre Vauthier gown at the BET Awards on June 25. The star wore this painfully shiny gold frock, which featured a plunging neckline, a slit and a bizarre extra choker-slash-scarf-like addition around the neck.

Listen, we love cats as much as the next person. But on our couture? No thanks! So Molly Sims' Dolce & Gabbana frock emblazoned with Bengal kitties at the MitoQ luncheon at Catch in New York City on Aug. 16 just didn't make the cut.

"The Edge of Seventeen" star Hailee Steinfeld looked perfect at the 2017 Golden Globes in this custom lavender Vera Wang creation, which she accessorized with Forevermark Diamonds. Her flowing pale purple frock featured both a train and sheer long sleeves and looked fit for a princess.

A nice silk suit? Rocking it sans shirt? All things we endorse, but something about Demi Lovato's execution of this midnight blue menswear-meets-pajamas ensemble fell flat as she stopped by the "Elvis Duran and the Morning Show" studios in New York City on Aug. 17. Perhaps it's the ill fit, or maybe this look is best suited for a red carpet and not an early-morning appearance, but either way, she missed the mark with this one.

Lupita Nyong'o showed up at the Marvel Studios "Black Panther" panel on July 22 during Comic-Con International in this gorgeous, breezy palm-leaf print jumpsuit, complete with a matching duster. We adored the Elie Saab number, which was the perfect choice for the summer convention in San Diego.

Charlize Theron donned this Dior disaster for the "Fate of the Furious" premiere in New York City on April 8. The sheer gown, which was plucked straight from the runway, was composed of vertical stripes with a pair of black briefs and a bra visible underneath. Though we weren't fans of the long-sleeved frock, we did appreciate those thigh-high black boots!

Womp. We expected more from Natalie Portman than the boring black Dior dress she wore during the L.A. Dance Project Gala in Los Angeles on Oct. 7. The three-quarter-sleeved bodice really seemed to fit poorly on the Oscar winner, and we just aren't fans of the bizarre, intentionally wrinkled-looking skirt. Next!

Amanda Seyfried showed off her baby bump in this black Chloe minidress, which featured pretty turquoise floral detailing, at the premiere of "The Last Word" in Los Angeles on March 1. The long-sleeved frock paired perfectly with her simple black strappy heel selection.

She may have been smizing, but Tyra Banks' ensemble wasn't fierce at the "America's Got Talent" Season 12 kickoff event in Los Angeles on March 27. The star wore this strange lace blazer paired with sheer lace… tights? See-through pants? We're not quite sure. Next up, we need a better view of her beauty look!

While we liked her pinned-back waves, we weren't crazy about Tyra Banks' purple lipstick. The odd color selection, combined with the bulky gold choker necklace she accessorized with, cemented this look as a miss.

Not much Bella Thorne wears these days shocks us, but that doesn't make her immune from the miss list. The star attended the Billboard Hot 100 Music Festival in New York City on Aug. 19 in… a bikini, white mesh pants and white patent-leather boots. As one does.

Yikes! Alexis Bledel rocked a pink, maroon and black striped long-sleeved lace gown at the TCA Awards Cocktail Reception in Los Angeles on Aug. 5, but it was her shoes that gave us the most trouble. Though they were nearly the same shades, the chunky, tied sandals ruined whatever hope the Sachin & Babi dress had.

We might be in the minority, but we adored Sienna Miller's Gucci dress at the "Live By Night" premiere on Jan. 9. The light blue and gold color combination was a pleasant surprise, and the lampshade style made for a beautiful red carpet moment.

Purple suede paired with bronze animal-print pumps. Just let that combination sink in, and then get a really good look at what Heidi Klum chose to wear to the "America's Got Talent" Season 12 kickoff event in Los Angeles on March 27. The belted minidress accessorized with massive gold hoops, sunglasses and those heels made for one terrible look.

Oh, man, we are so conflicted over the strapless midi-length dress Kate Mara donned during the BFI London Film Festival premiere of "Film Stars Don't Die in Liverpool" on Oct. 11. On the one hand, we love the pleated skirt with its alternating strips of contrasting fabrics — and we REALLY love the way she completed her look with velvety, deep purple accessories and matching lipstick. We just wish the bodice wasn't so billowy on her slender frame.

Best dressed at the MTV Movie & TV Awards on May 7? Zendaya! The stunning star looked fantastic in this green Zuhair Murad number, which featured a plunging neckline and floral detailing. It's so good we've got to see it from one more angle!

We loved the cutout on the back of Zendaya's beautiful Zuhair Murad gown, and how she kept things earth-toned by adding a rich brown heel to contrast with the pale green dress.

Priyanka Chopra very rarely lands on the miss list, but her outfit at a "Baywatch" screening in New York City on May 22 fell flat. The star wore a super-short and sparkly dress, which may have been fine on its own, but looked strange with the olive blazer she sported on top.

Dakota Johnson donned a truly eye-catching Proenza Schouler off-the-shoulder dress with a black bodice and asymmetrical ruffles during the 55th New York Film Festival premiere of "Call Me by Your Name" on Oct. 3. We just love this look and have to say, it's one of Dakota's best ever!

Nikki Reed looked gorgeous in a green floral-print Tadashi Shoji long-sleeved gown with a sheer skirt during the 27th Annual EMA Awards in Santa Monica, California, on Sept. 23. She added a fun pop of color with her shoes, which coordinated with the flowers on her frock.

A vision in white! Ashley Graham stunned at the Celebration of the Vanity Fair Founders Fair in New York City on April 20. The model rocked a pristine white one-shouldered body-con dress that she paired with a red lip and black strappy heels for a sophisticated, glam look.

Naomi Campbell rarely lands among the fashion misses, but her frock at the NBA Awards on June 26 was just bizarre. The legendary catwalk queen showed up in this minidress straight from the Elie Saab runway, but the gaudy designs on the bodice, coupled with the excess of feathers at the neck and hemline, were straight-up cringeworthy.

Katie Holmes wore our other favorite LBD of the month — a simple, form-fitted Zac Posen sheath — during a special screening of "House of Z," a documentary about the designer, in New York City on Sept. 7. See her face? That's the expression of a woman who knows she looks good!

At first glance, Brooke Shields' CFDA Fashion Awards dress seemed lovely — a rich floral-print fabric with a plunging neckline and a glamorous train. But once the star moved, she revealed a bizarre addition to the Sachin & Babi design. See it next!

Once Brooke Shields took a step on the carpet, she revealed what the dress was hiding — a pair of pants underneath! While we're all for menswear-inspired ensembles, we're not into spoiling a perfectly pretty gown. The ensemble, straight from the Sachin & Babi runway, missed the mark in our book.

We found Waldo! He's actually Alan Cumming, seen here at the "Patti Cake$" New York City premiere on Aug. 14, where he rocked the character's red-and-white striped shirt with red shoes and spectacles and finished the bizarre look with suspenders and jeans.

A cargo jumpsuit? Only at Coachella. Sofia Richie attended the Midnight Garden After Dark party during the music festival on April 14 in this awful green one-piece, which she accented with an orange sweater draped over her shoulders.

We're obsessed with the red Alexander McQueen ensemble — a black-strapped crop top with a fit-and-flare skirt — that Rooney Mara donned during a special screening of "Una" in New York City on Oct. 4.

Ruth Negga looked like a fairy princess in this beautiful multi-colored Valentino gown. The long-sleeved, collared dress that she wore to the 16th Annual Movies for Grownups Awards in Los Angeles on Feb. 6 featured delicate pink, purple, green and gold sequined detailing. Let's take a closer look!

Up close, the detailing on Ruth Negga's Valentino dress is downright adorable! The heart and floral designs, delicate Peter Pan collar and gauzy pink bow tie helped solidify this dress as one of our favorites of the month!

We're sort of obsessed with Chrissy Teigen's funky fashion look at the Kick-off for Chase Sapphire Sundays Brunch Series in Los Angeles on Aug. 20. The star rocked this boxy, flowy gold and green Loewe top with a black Alice McCall skirt — complete with a thigh-high slit — and pulled everything together with a classic Gucci belt.

Reese Witherspoon rarely ventures outside of her fashion comfort zone, but when she does, she swings for the fences! The Oscar winner hit a homerun with the asymmetrical Stella McCartney LBD with an oversized bow on one shoulder that she donned for the London premiere of "Home Again" on Sept. 21.

Margot Robbie made an extremely rare fashion misstep in a white floral-print Brock Collection dress with poofy sleeves during the premiere of "Goodbye Christopher Robin" in London on Sept. 20. The look was unflattering enough before she decided to wear peachy eyeshadow and style her short 'do in the wet-hair trend. So disappointing!

We love Helen Mirren, but the legendary actress's ensemble at the 69th Annual Directors Guild Awards in Los Angeles on Feb. 4 was a miss. Pairing that very sparkly skirt with a V-neck sweater, though comfy-looking, didn't seem like a red carpet-worthy combo.

We weren't into Emma Watson's Louis Vuitton ensemble at a photocall for "The Circle" in Paris on June 22. The look seemed to feature a white graphic-covered layer underneath a sheer black gown dusted with gold designs, making for a quirky but underwhelming result.

Maren Morris was purple perfection on music's biggest night! The country star donned this purple lace gown by Michael Costello, which featured unique paneling that showed off her legs. A pretty good Grammys debut, if you ask us!

Well, it's not our favorite Rihanna look! While attending another "Valerian And The City Of A Thousand Planets" event, this time the European premiere in London on July 24, Rihanna underwhelmed in this massive Giambattista Valli gown. Though we loved the vibrant color, we weren't fans of the bizarre neckline and strange sleeve placement.

We've continued to be baffled by Sarah Jessica Parker's fashion choices, especially since we grew up idolizing her style. And her 2017 Golden Globes dress was just as confusing as ever, especially considering that it was a… wedding dress. Sarah Jessica's massive white frock actually came from Vera Wang's 2017 bridal collection, oddly placed, ill-fitting sleeves and all. And her hair? We'll get to that next!

Sarah Jessica Parker's hairstyle was nearly as confusing as her wedding dress choice at the 2017 Golden Globes. While many assumed it was a nod to the late Carrie Fisher, who rocked a similar look as Princess Leia, SJP explained to NBC that the hair selection was actually a tribute to her mother, who once wore her hair in a similar fashion.

Naomie Harris donned one of our favorite looks from the Cannes Film Festival at the "Ismael's Ghosts" premiere on May 17 — a multi-colored tulle creation by Gucci, complete with stripes cascading in various pastel shades — for a perfectly pretty red carpet moment.

Ruby Rose opted for this atrocious orange and black Vionnet gown for the "Resident Evil: The Final Chapter" premiere on Jan. 23. Though it came straight from the runway, the odd draping and Halloween color scheme fell flat.

Is "This Is Us" star Chris Sullivan messing with us? At the 2017 People's Choice Awards, Chris — who plays Toby on the popular NBC show — donned the strangest outfit on the carpet: strange rainbow-splattered pants, bright red Nikes, a blue suit jacket, a red bow tie and some very funky glasses.

The curve-hugging nude gown featured black lace overlay with a flower detail at the neck. The funny-woman has never looked better!

We love Anna Chlumsky — and we REALLY love Christian Siriano, so we wanted to love the befuddling black gown by the designer that the "Veep" star donned during the Metropolitan Opera Opening Night Gala in New York City on Sept. 25. Unfortunately, that just wasn't the case. The dress featured an oversized peplum waist that made it look like the actress had squeezed a strapless, fit-and-flare LBD over a sexy, sheer sheath.
