President Donald Trump announced the formation of a revamped Homeland Security Advisory Council (HSAC) on Thursday, April 17, which includes Fox News host Mark Levin and former Fox News contributor Bo Dietl among its new members.Trump shared the news in a Truth Social post, expressing his pride in the new appointments, which he described as comprising "Top Experts in their field, who their peers highly respect."

Trump's Statement on the New Appointments
In his Truth Social post, Donald Trump further elaborated on the goals of the new council. He mentioned the involvement of key figures including South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster, Mark Levin, Bo Dietl and Joseph Gruters, stating that these individuals would play a crucial role in shaping new policies and strategies."Under Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem's leadership, HSAC will work hard on developing new Policies and Strategies that will help us secure our Border, deport Illegal Criminal Thugs, stop the flow of Fentanyl and other illegal drugs that are killing our Citizens, and MAKE AMERICA SAFE AGAIN," Trump wrote.
He also congratulated all the new members of the council.
Mark Levin's Reaction to His Appointment
Mark Levin, known for hosting Life, Liberty & Levin on Fox News, expressed his gratitude for the appointment: "What an honor! Thank you, Mr. President!" Levin wrote on social media.Despite his new role, Levin has been a vocal critic of the Donald Trump administration in recent months, particularly condemning its interactions with what he called "the vilest subhuman terrorists, the Hamas Nazis," and accusing the White House of "publicly demeaning Israel's leadership."
He also voiced his opposition to the Trump administration's stance on Ukraine, specifically criticizing the decision to reduce support for the country and attacking conservative figures who criticized Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
Bo Dietl's Background and Appointment
Bo Dietl, a former NYPD detective, gained notoriety for his role as head of security for "the Wolf of Wall Street," Jordan Belfort, during the 1990s.Dietl has also appeared in several Martin Scorsese films, including Goodfellas, The Irishman and The Wolf of Wall Street. His tenure with Fox News ended in 2016 after it was revealed that he was hired to assist in discrediting Gretchen Carlson's sexual harassment claims against then-Fox News CEO Roger Ailes.
