"I don't think that it is productive to have a full face of hair and makeup and hair extensions — and I used to wear 60 pounds of hair extensions — when you're doing things like that," Meghan McCain remarked about Kristi Noem during the latest installment of
Meghan McCain's Happy Hour.
While the former co-host of
The View did not want to "comment on a woman's looks," she admitted, "If I were giving her some advice, I would be like, 'How about pulling our hair back in a baseball cap and not doing a photo-op?"'
"I like her. I don't want her to become a parody of herself," Meghan added.

In response to Meghan McCain's criticism, a spokesperson for the DHS staunchly defended Kristi Noem and her work under Donald Trump's administration.
"Under President Trump and Secretary Noem, the border is at its most secure in American history,"
Tricia McLaughlin said in a statement to
Daily Mail. "The American people can be proud to have a Secretary of Homeland
Security who shows up to support our brave law enforcement and get them the tools they need to do their jobs successfully and safely. We are far more concerned with the safety and security of the American people than about online yapping."

Meghan McCain isn't the only right-wing woman slamming Kristi Noem. During a Wednesday, April 9, episode of her podcast,
Megyn Kelly condemned the former governor of South Dakota for flaunting her deportation efforts on social media.
The journalist said she thought Kristi should ditch the "ICE Barbie" image and "stop with the glam."
"No one wants you there," Megyn added. "First of all, nobody ever wants the extra lady who doesn't actually belong. They just don't."

Kristi Noem has been extremely forward-facing when it comes to the mass deportations she and Donald Trump are carrying out. However, the public has been quick to call her out for rocking expensive jewelry and a full face of makeup while on the job.
During a March visit to an El Salvador prison, the Republican shared a video of herself standing in front a cell of inmates while wearing a gold Rolex Cosmograph Daytona
watch.
"Nothing like wearing a 60K watch when going to another country to visit a prison for a photo op. Thanks, Kristi Noem, for wasting my
taxpayer money for another stunt, you weirdo," one X user wrote about fashion statement.
"Corrupt to the bone," another person noted.

During a Thursday, April 9, appearance on
Jesse Watters Primetime, Kristi Noem addressed the
backlash she's been receiving from all political parties.
"Every day I wake up and there's new criticisms. It something different every single day, so I try not to pay attention to the noise," she explained. "They are so proud of the fact that I'm willing to wear an ICE hat, that I'm willing to wear an HSI vest, that I'm willing to go into there and wear something and be proud of them and the work that they do."
