"I toured the CECOT, El Salvador's Terrorism Confinement Center," Kristi Noem began in the caption of the video of herself standing outside a cell of Salvadoran prisoners. The former governor of South Dakota gave a stark warning to other people trying to immigrate to the United States illegally under Donald Trump's administration. "President Trump and I have a clear message to criminal illegal aliens: LEAVE NOW. If you do not leave, we will hunt you down, arrest you and you could end up in this El Salvadorian prison," she wrote.

"This is one of the consequences you could face," Kristi Noem said in the clip — in which the inmates remained silent while she spoke directly to the camera."First of all, do not come to our country illegally. You will be removed and you will be prosecuted. But know that this facility is one of the tools in our toolkit that we will use if you commit crimes against the American people," the Republican said.

The Homeland Security Department confirmed Kristi Noem met and worked with President Nayib Bukele to discuss how America can "increase the number of deportation flights and removals of violent criminals from the U.S."The United States Embassy in El Salvador issued a statement about the visit from the official, claiming Noem "expressed her gratitude for the Salvadoran government's cooperation in accepting deportation flights."

"As of today, we're starting seven new miles of construction, we're going to continue to make America safe again."
