While defending his controversial move, Donald Trump claimed his bold actions are doing more for the country than former President Joe Biden did."They are already in effect and a beautiful thing to behold. The Surplus with these Countries has grown during the 'Presidency' of Sleepy Joe Biden," the Republican wrote in the social media update. "We are going to reverse it and reverse it QUICKLY. Some day people will realize that Tariffs, for the United States of America, are a very beautiful thing!"

Donald Trump then alleged politicians from all over the globe reached out and are eager to strike a deal with him to end the tariffs. However, the right-winger isn't convinced."I spoke to a lot of leaders — European, Asian, from all over the world. They're dying to make a deal," he penned. "But I said we're not gonna have deficits with your country. We're not gonna do that because to me a deficit is a loss. We're gonna have surpluses or we're at worst gonna be breaking even."

According to the New York Post, the stock market slumped on Sunday, April 6, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average down 2.1 percent and the S&P 500 plummeting about 2.5 percent, while the Nasdaq fell almost 3.1 percent.Per the report, Donald Trump's actions had a trickle-down effect on countries all around the world. Asian shares dropped immensely, with Tokyo's 225 index losing about 8 percent when the market opened, and it was later down 6 percent by the middle of the day. Hong Kong's Hang Seng sank to 9.4 percent, while the Shanghai Composite index lost 6.2 percent.

Despite the hardship Donald Trump's tariffs may have on the American people, the businessman claimed the pain will be worth the reward."Sometimes you have to take medicine to fix something," Trump continued in his Truth Social post. "We have been treated so badly by other countries because we had stupid leadership that allowed this to happen. They took our business, they took our money, they took our jobs."
The Apprentice star also alleged there are billions of dollars being brought into the country because of the duties.
