On the Tuesday, June 3, episode of Squawk Box, Omeed Malik noted that Donald Trump "could not have been elected in 2016" if voters didn't "feel that backlash" to Barack Obama's presidency."He certainly couldn't have made a comeback if President [Joe] Biden had addressed those issues," he added.
"Well, and re-elected in 2020," Joe Kernen interjected, referencing Trump's claims about election fraud in the 2020 election.

Donald Trump Jr. ignored Joe Kernen's comments about his father and instead shifted gears to why Donald Trump won the 2024 election."I always think sometimes you have to hit rock bottom," Don Jr. began before Kernen interrupted him to point out his joke.
"That was for him! That was for him," Kernen said pointing to fellow host Andrew Ross Sorkin.
"He's talking about stolen elections," Sorkin chimed in while laughing.

Joe Kernen quickly apologized for his joke, but Donald Trump Jr. remained focused on making his point."I'm sorry! I take that back," Kernen said.
"But I think that it did take the four years of Biden for America to realize how fragile some of these things are," Don Jr. shared, celebrating his father's success.
