FCC releases viewer complaints about Rihanna's 'indecent' halftime show

Rihanna's Super Bowl halftime show performance caused quite the "disturbia" for a handful people who tuned in.

The Federal Communications Commission received 103 complaints from viewers, with many griping that the performance was overly sexual. Some people even said it was pornographic.

"This year the halftime show was so indecent I had to turn off the TV because of the pornographic content," one person claimed, according to TMZ. Another said, "I don't care what someone worships but children shouldn't be exposed to pornography and as an adult I don't wish to see it. … Where has decency gone? How about respect for others and self?"

Some people took issue with the pregnant singer's backup dancers. One person said the dancers "were patently offensive and completely inappropriate for children."

Of course, the number of complaints about RiRi's performance pales in comparison to issues viewers had following the infamous Justin Timberlake and Janet Jackson wardrobe malfunction during the 2004 Super Bowl. The FCC received more than half a million complaints at the time.

Janet Jackson's nephew says aunt's performances 'degrade and objectify' women

Family feud?

Janet Jackson's nephew TJ Jackson is publicly shading his aunt for her "over sexualized" performances.

On Monday, Feb. 27, a fan shared a clip of Janet during a steamy concert performance, which prompted TJ to tweet, "I never liked when she did this in concerts either. I don't like when females are overly sexualized in art…it degrades and objectify's [sic] women in a way that's not healthy."

He added, "I prefer the 'That's The Way Love Goes' Janet."

TJ, who admitted that Janet is "a trailblazer and an icon," later went on to slam other female artists for "over sexualized" performances.

"I love black women," he tweeted to a fan. "I wish you would respect the black women we put in our music videos and if you are really serious about making a difference stop supporting the negative image many female black celebs today portray. WAP was not a good look. That deserves your energy."

He continued, "To all the black women out there…. know your worth. I truly believe you are the strongest beings on the planet. Don't sell yourself short. Become the queens you are meant to be. #lovealways."

One Twitter argued that TJ's view of Janet is subjective due to their family connection, a notion he dismissed. He even doubled down on his stance, insisting that the risqué performances only "diminish her amazing talent."

Following his comments, Page Six cited a slew of Janet fans who took issue with TJ and felt that he was trying to earn clout off her name.

"I hope @tjjackson is happy with his 15 minutes of viral content at the expense of his aunt," one said. Another added, "I hardly ever see you post anything about your aunt Janet who has broken down barriers and broken records. Every time she does something huge it's crickets. You always give [Michael Jackson] props which you should but where's the love for Janet? This is what you choose to say?"

Honey Boo Boo involved in Georgia police chase: Details

Dralin Carswell, the boyfriend of Alana Thompson — who's better known as Honey Boo Boo — was arrested for DUI in Georgia this week after taking police on a chase, and the reality TV star was in the car with him at the time.

The "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo" star was not arrested during the incident and was picked up by her sister, Pumpkin.

The Monroe Country Reporter reported that the situation began after an officer ran a routine check of the tags from a Dodge Charger that Dralin, 21, and Honey Boo Boo, 17, were riding in on Feb. 28. After discovering that the owner of the car had outstanding warrants from a neighboring county, the officer attempted to make a traffic stop. Dralin, who was driving, allegedly refused to pull over and led officers on a chase for about three miles.

Police were able to stop the car after performing a pit maneuver, which caused the Dodge to spin out.

Honey Boo Boo was riding in the passenger seat during the incident.

In a search of the vehicle, police found marijuana, reports claim.

Dralin was eventually arrested for DUI, drug possession, fleeing police and the outstanding warrants. Another passenger in the car was also arrested for outstanding warrants.

'The Mandalorian' producers reveal Gina Carano's future within 'Star Wars' universe

It appears that Gina Carano's "The Mandalorian" character will stay in a galaxy far, far away.

Although the Disney+ show returned on Wednesday, March 1, for its third season, neither Gina nor her Cara Dune character will be found on screen.

Broadimage/Shutterstock

"Cara was a big part and continues as a character to be part of the world," executive producer Rick Famuyiwa told Deadline. "At the same time, what has been at the heart of the show are the two characters Din Djarin and Grogu."

He added, "It's a big galaxy, and we have many characters in it — many characters are fighting for their screen time. We'll just have to see as the season unfolds what the adventures are, but it's a great character, someone who was vital to Din Djarin's beginnings."

Gina's absence isn't really surprising. The MMA fighter-turned-actress was fired in February 2021 after posting an Instagram photo that compared being a conservative Republican to being Jewish in Nazi Germany during WWII. The message said that "Jews here beaten in the streets, not by Nazi soldiers but by their neighbors…" It went on to claim "the government first made their own neighbors hate them simply for being Jews."

Danny Moloshok/Invision/AP/Shutterstock

Gina has never wavered from her conservative political views. In fact, she told Meghan McCain last year that she has no regrets about getting "canceled."

"I don't feel like I did anything wrong," she told pal Meghan for her MailOnline column. "I understand now that there's words that can be better used and that are certainly more sensitive, but if people read it now after a year or more has passed and they look at it and they think: 'Wait a second, there's no way you just canceled for that.'"

She added, "I feel like neighbors turning on neighbors is what these corporations benefit off of, and what the government benefits off of is turning us on each other. People ask me what I got canceled for and I say: 'I told neighbors to get along.'"

Why Hollywood icon lost 1 million Instagram followers

Words have consequences.

Earlier this month, a contingency of social media users felt that Kylie Jenner took a subtle jab at Selena Gomez. Since then, the reality TV star has seen her Instagram following shrink by a million followers, SocialBlade.com reported.

Rob Latour/Shutterstock

Although this might not seem like a big deal to many people, social media followings are equivalent to currency with the younger generation.

The situation began after a TikTok user suggested that Kylie and Hailey Bieber shaded Selena about her eyebrows. Although Kylie denied ribbing the "Only Murders In The Building" actress, her Instagram following has dipped from 380 million to 379 million fans in a matter of a few weeks. Selena's Instagram following, meanwhile, has increased by nearly 10 million followers during that span. With 390 million followers, Selena is the most-followed woman on the platform.

Still, both women insist there's no feud. After the aforementioned TikTok user alleged that Kylie's remarks were pointed and derogatory, the makeup maven replied, "This is reaching. No shade towards Selena ever and I didn't see her eyebrow posts! u guys are making something out of nothing. This is silly."

Selena, for that matter, seemed to back Kylie. "Agreed @kyliejenner. It's all unnecessary. I'm a fan of Kylie!," the "Lose You To Love Me" singer wrote.

David Fisher/Shutterstock

Around that same time, Selena announced she was taking a social media break.

"I'm very happy, I'm so blessed, I have the best friends, the best fans in the whole world and I just couldn't be happier," she said in a TikTok live video. "I'm good. I love the way I am I don't care, I'm big, I'm not, I don't care. I love who I am. And yeah, I'm gonna be taking a second from social media, because this is a little silly. And I'm 30, I'm too old for this, so…but I love you guys so much! And I will see you guys sooner than later, I just… I'm just gonna just take a break from everything."

Selena's break didn't last long, and she's posted on Instagram several times over the past week… to a few more followers, no less.

Michael B. Jordan confronts reporter — a former classmate who 'bullied' him in high school

Michael B. Jordan never forgets.

While promoting his newest film "Creed 3," the actor-director chatted with Lore'l, the host of "The Morning Hustle Show," who happened to be classmates with Michael in high school.

John Angelillo/UPI/Shutterstock

In the viral interview, Lore'l begins by speaking about their history together but is interrupted by Michael.

"I was the corny kid, right?" he uttered.

Trying to play it off, Lore'l said, "I did not say that! I was misquoted for sure!"

Michael, though, stood firm, telling saying, "What's up? I heard it. What's up? What's up?" His body language toward Lore'l had a very matter-of-fact feel to it.

The tension between the two stems from Lore'l 2021 comments about the actor on the "Undressing Room." In the two-year-old interview, the host of the "Undressing Room," not Lore'l, called the actor "a nice corny guy." Lore'l, however, continued with the topic and admitted to often "making fun" of Michael in high school.

"We teased him all the damn time because his name was Michael Jordan. Let's start there, and he was no Michael Jordan," she said, referring to the NBA player. "And he also would come to school with a headshot. We lived in Newark, that's the hood. We would make fun of him like, 'What you gonna do with your stupid headshot!?' And now look at him!"

Anthony Harvey/Shutterstock

Video of the new interview — which ended by Lore'l saying "You're not corny anymore" — has been shared on social media hundreds of times, and the Twitter-verse is clearly siding with Michael.

"When you make someone the butt of your jokes in High School then have to interview him on the red carpet of his film. Michael B. Jordan sure ain't forget Lore'l was one of the people who would make fun of him back in the day," one social media user said.

"You can tell he remembers her in a VERY different light than she saw herself 😳," another person said. A third added, "Bullies don't remember how mean they were, the bullied for sure remembers."

Donald Trump wanted Disney to muzzle Jimmy Kimmel over late night jokes: Report

Donald Trump once tried to put a muzzle on Jimmy Kimmel due to the late night host's constant barrage of jokes aimed at the then-president, according to a report.

Two former Trump administration officials told Rolling Stone that the POTUS was so incensed with Jimmy's constant jabs that he directed the White House staff to call Disney executives and demand action.

John Salangsang/Shutterstock

One source told the mag that Trump complained the "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" host was "very dishonest and doing things that [Trump] would have once sued over."

Rolling Stone reported that high-ranking people at Disney — which owns ABC, the network Jimmy's show airs on — were confused as to why the leader of the free world was so annoyed at the barbs, particularly given that top politicians have been late night fodder for decades.

The exact number of calls allegedly placed to Disney executives isn't known.

"I do not know to who[m], but it happened. Nobody thought it was going to change anything but DJT was focused on it so we had to do something… It was doing something, mostly, to say to [Trump], 'Hey, we did this,'" a Trumpworld source said.

Al Drago/UPI/Shutterstock

The former POTUS, who famously hates being a punchline, has previously voiced his opinion about late night hosts. He once sued Bill Maher over a joke, but the case was thrown out. He has called Jimmy Fallon "not funny." In 2018, Trump said Stephen Colbert had "no talent" and wanted the FCC to investigate investigate a joke made at the expense of the former "The Apprentice" star. The FCC ultimately decided against taking action against "The Late Show" host. Citing a White House staffer, the new report said Trump often checked in on the status of that FCC investigation. Trump also wanted the FCC to investigate "Saturday Night Live" over jokes made at his expense in 2019, the report claims.

Aubrey Plaza angry outburst caught on camera at SAG Awards: What did she really say?

After avoiding an apparent wardrobe malfunction, Aubrey Plaza was caught on camera having an angry outburst as the "White Lotus" cast accepting the SAG Award for Best Ensemble in a Drama Series.

The "Parks and Rec" alum became visibly annoyed on stage after Aubrey's "White Lotus" costar Jon Gries grabbed her arm and whispered something into her ear. It's believed that he warned her of a possible wardrobe malfunction, as the actress immediately adjusted her dress.

As this was happening, F. Murray Abraham was giving the acceptance speech, a speech wherein he sent prayers for the earthquake victims of Syria and Turkey and for peace in Ukraine and Russia. With the crowd applauding, he ended the speech by suddenly shouting, "Union forever!"

Aubrey watched as the cast and crew began to hug and congratulate each other. Cameras, though, saw her seemingly mouthing "Jesus Christ" in an annoyed manner. Some Twitter users, though, felt that she said, "s***'s f*****." Regardless, she was one of the first stars of the HBO show to leave the stage.

It's not known whether her miffed reaction was due to the possible wardrobe malfunction or the speech.

Following the incident, several Twitter users took to the platform to opine about Aubrey.

"What was she annoyed about?" one person questioned, per Page Six. Another asked, "why was aubrey plaza so mad to win for white lotus? #SAGAwards"

'Milkshake' singer Kelis lucky to be alive after perilous car accident in California snowstorm

Kelis and her children almost fell "off a cliff" in a car accident during a rare California snowstorm over the weekend.

The "Milkshake" rapper posted a video to her Instagram on Sunday, Feb. 26, that showed her car off the side of the road, precariously close to sliding off the mountain.

"So here's the thing," she said while filming a video. "My truck got stuck. It's like hanging off the cliff."

A tow truck can be seen pulling the car to safety as high winds whip around Kelis.

"Praise God the tow truck actually made it. We've been outside for awhile," she said.

The 2000s rapper, 43, noted that she planned to take her children to California's popular Big Bear area to play in the snow, so they had warm clothes in the car. She joked that you should always "look your best" in a blizzard.

"I'm wearing layers to keep warm," she said while showing off her "ridiculous rescue fashion."

"I've got my light on, thank God, because it's pitch black out here," she said of her head lamp. "Silver boots [for] a little reflective action. Things could be worse."

The Grammy nominee urged her followers to "always be prepared" as she was.

Over the weekend, the Los Angeles area got pounded by a winter storm that set snowfall and rainfall records. The National Weather Service said it was one of the strongest storms to ever hit southwest California.

It's not known which of Kelis' children were with her during the incident, as she shares 13-year-old son Knight with ex-husband Nas. She also shares a 7-year-old son and 2-year-old daughter with her late husband Mike Mora, who passed away in 2022 from stomach cancer.
