According to Axios, Donald Trump made it clear he did not want Elon Musk to attend the Pentagon-hosted meeting because of the tech entrepreneur's business entanglements in China."What the f*** is Elon doing there?" the right-wing leader allegedly said about the situation, according to an anonymous top official. "Make sure he doesn't go."

With Elon Musk's special government job soon ending, a source claimed Donald Trump still cares for the billionaire but is ready to distance himself when it comes to work."POTUS still very much loves Elon, but there are some red lines," an insider told Axios. "Elon has a lot of business in China and he has good relations there and this briefing just wasn't the right thing."

After The New York Times published their report on Elon Musk planning to attend the briefing, Donald Trump swiftly took to social media to shut down the rumor about what the gathering was about."They said, incorrectly, that Elon Musk is going to the Pentagon tomorrow to be briefed on any potential 'war with China,'" he wrote on Truth Social on March 20. "How ridiculous? China will not even be mentioned or discussed. How disgraceful it is that the discredited media can make up such lies. Anyway, the story is completely untrue!!!"

Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth addressed the situation after the reports of Elon Musk's potential attendance at the meeting hit the press.
"We look forward to welcoming @elonmusk to the Pentagon tomorrow. But the fake news delivers again — this is NOT a meeting about 'top secret China war plans.' It's an informal meeting about innovation, efficiencies and smarter production. Gonna be great!" he claimed on X.
