Singer with 'Best Country Album of the Year' to have double mastectomy

Critically-acclaimed country singer Morgan Wade will undergo a double mastectomy later this year after learning she's at an increased risk for breast cancer.

The "Wilder Days" singer told Page Six that she got tested for the BRCA gene — a mutation in one of the breast cancer genes — because it runs in her family. Then, while out on tour in Europe last year, Morgan got the news that she didn't want to hear.

"I had the BRCA gene, it's a breast cancer gene so I'm having a double mastectomy in November," she said. "I'm going really hard up until November so then November and December I have off to rest."

Although Morgan was hoping she didn't carry the gene, she knew the possibility existed.

"My mom had it, and my little cousin is going to get it, but I'll be fine," she said.

According to Cancer.gov, those who inherit harmful variants of the BRCA1 or BRCA2 genes have increased risks of several cancers—most notably breast and ovarian cancer. Further, BRCA1 or BRCA2 carriers usually develop cancer at younger ages.

For Morgan, she isn't afraid of the surgery, but she is upset about the days that follow.

"I'm feeling fine, I'm just p***** I won't be able to work out because I really like working out. That's my only qualm about it," she said.

While not a flashy name to casual music fans, Morgan is well-known and well-respected within the country industry. Back in 2021, Rolling Stone named Morgan's debut album, "Reckless," the "best country album of the year," beating out the likes of top-line names like Kacey Musgraves, Lainey Wilson and Eric Church, among others. Morgan's second album, "Psychopath," is set to be release on Aug. 25.

"With 'Psychopath,' we've done a really good job of moving on from 'Reckless,' to the next stage without it being so crazy different," she told Page Six. "I'm excited, every song on there has its own sound and is completely different."

The album, which contains 13 tracks, "goes into where I'm at in life right now. Which is so busy," she said. "It's about growing up and being older, and starting to feel like, 'Is it time to settle down?' I think you'll see a lot of that on the record."

New details about Amanda Bynes' life since she returned home after three-week psychiatric hold

Amanda Bynes was once one of Hollywood's up-and-coming stars, but mental issues derailed her career. Now, she primarily lives a life of solitude.

@rlamandabynes/Instagram

TMZ reported that the "Hairspray" actress is "often feeling sad and isolated" in the wake of her three-week mental hospital stint. Since her release last month, Amanda lives solo at her Los Angeles home and rarely associates with people outside of parents and siblings, as she has very few friends.

While her former fiance Paul Michael was a staple in her life for a while, Amanda parents don't want him going anywhere near her now. Sources tell TMZ that Amanda's parents feel that Paul, who she met in rehab, is "toxic" to her recovery.

Over the past month, Amanda has disengaged from her passions, such as fashion and her desire to be a nail tech. On the bright side, the webloid says she's been really good about attending her outpatient treatments, seeing therapists, and taking her medication.

@amandabynesreal /Instagram

The "Easy A" alum has led a turbulent life over the past decade. In October 2014, she landed in a treatment center after lashing out at her father on social media, shoplifting and DUI. The previous year — following an involuntary psychiatric hold, which came after she set off a small fire on a neighbor's driveway — Amanda spent time in a psychiatric hospital and then lived with her parents for several months. Her mom, Lynn, was named her conservator back in 2014.

Since then, Amanda has largely cleaned up her life, and a judge terminated her conservatorship on March 22, 2022. However, the possibility of a second conservatorship was raised after the "Easy A" star was found naked and alone while roaming the streets in downtown Los Angeles in March 2023, almost a year to the day of the judge's termination decision.

In that instance, an unclothed Amanda waved down a car in the middle of the night and informed the driver that she was coming off of a psychotic episode. She then called police herself, which her parents took solace in.

Amanda was not hurt during the episode, which went down in a dangerous part of L.A.

Former NFL star says estranged spouse's behavior 'financially devastated' their family in new divorce filing

Kim Zolciak is feeling a little too lucky these days, and it's "financially devastated" the family, her estranged husband claims.

In new court documents, Kroy Biermann alleged that Kim has many "compulsions," including online gambling.

Kroy alleged that the "Real Housewives of Atlanta" alum has been "spending substantial time and marital funds on gambling and other games of chance… this compulsion has financially devastated the parties."

The former NFL player argued that Kim's parenting has been affected by her alleged gambling, stating that her "time is so consumed with online gambling" that she cannot properly take care of their four minor children: Kroy, 11, Kash, 10, and 9-year-old twins Kaia and Kane.

Further, Kroy wants his ex to undergo a psychological evaluation for mental health issues such as depression, narcissistic personality disorder and bipolar disorder. In his court filing, which was obtained by TMZ, he attached bank statements and checks showing thousands of dollars in withdrawals, all of which he alleged Kim is responsible for.

After Kim filed for divorce from Kroy earlier this month, friends indicated that things were bound to get ugly, as both parties weren't willing to give in to the other. That has certainly held true.

Curtis Means/Ace Pictures/Shutterstock

Kim and Kroy's finances appear to be in shambles, as it's been reported that the duo has been building debt for a decade and owe more than $1 million in unpaid taxes. According to TMZ, the former couple owes $1.1 million to the IRS for unpaid taxes, interest and penalties from 2013, 2017 and 2018. They also owe the state of Georgia $15,000 for unpaid taxes from 2018. The financial allegations come several months after Kim and Kroy's Georgia mansion went into foreclosure and was set to be auctioned off. There is a deep conflict over who's responsible for Kim and Kroy's financial problems.

Although the reality TV ex-couple continue to cohabitate for the sake of their young children, they are keeping their distance. After Kim filed for divorce, Kroy asked for possession of their Alpharetta, Georgia, home and for Kim to vacate the property.

Music star shares how the 'worst moment' of his career during award show led him 'to go to therapy'

Nick Jonas remembers the 2016 Academy of Country Music Awards well, but he would like to forget it.

While appearing on the Armchair Expert With Dax Shepard podcast, the singer recalled joining Kelsea Ballerini for a live performance of "Peter Pan" and giving "a really tragic guitar solo." For Nick, it ended up being the "worst moment" and landed him in therapy.

That evening, he said, has now shaped how he feels about performing.

Gregory Pace/Shutterstock

"In retrospect, I can kind of laugh about how big I thought it was. But it did travel more than I wish it would have, and it did cause me to go to therapy," he said.

At the time of the live TV performance, the Jonas Brothers were broken up and Nick was pursuing a solo career.

"I come out for my thing, I rehearsed it a million times, I'm feeling really confident about it, not even really thinking about it like it's a thing that's going to be problematic," he said. "I started off, it was fine and as I walked towards her, I just went completely blank and I hit a wrong note and blacked out basically and clocked that it was wrong and I couldn't stop."

He continued, "Til this day and hours after unpacking it, I can't really figure out exactly what happened, but I was rushed to a car and rushed to a plane right after it and I looked at my manager and said, 'I think that was bad.' I was like in shock kinda. Like it was a really traumatic moment that shaped the pressure I put on myself to be perfect and to always be on."

Nick now considers blunders to be "core memories."

Bravo star says baseball great wanted 'side chick' during high-profile engagement

Alex Rodriguez dated Jennifer Lopez for four years, but one woman wasn't enough for him, a famed reality TV star claims.

"Southern Charm" star Madison LeCroy said the baseball legend contacted her on Instagram in 2020. At the time, Madison thought she was being catfished, she told the "Pillows and Beer" podcast in May 2023.

Stephen Lovekin/Shutterstock

Madison recalled thinking after Alex first reached out, "The dude who's dating [J.Lo] is not in my DMs right now." She then quickly realized that A-Rod was looking for a side piece.

"I said, if you're looking for a side chick — which clearly he was — it wasn't gonna be me. I'm wifey material," she said.

Although Alex first contacted Madison with a fitness-related question, it soon became clear that the former New York Yankee was pursuing her, she alleged.

The podcast's host, Austen Kroll, who dated Madison in 2020, said A-Rod had been contacting her via FaceTime "ad nauseam."

"You were like, 'This mother f*****'s FaceTimed me three or four times today,"' Austin recalled. "And then he, like, got mad at Madison because she didn't answer when she was on the boat or something. And she was like, 'I'm not at your beck and call.'"

Alex even offered to fly Madison to Miami several times, but she always declined. The realty TV beauty added that she's never actually met Alex in person.

"People still don't believe me — I swear to God, I've never, ever seen that person," she said.

After the podcast aired, Alex's rep denied that the former professional athlete was ever making advances on Madison.

"Her 15 minutes of fame are up, and she is trying [to] get a 16th minute," his rep told Page Six. "Please stop wasting everyone's time with these false narratives. They were false two years ago and continue to be false."

Child featured on 'Unsolved Mysteries' found alive six years after alleged kidnapping

A kidnapped teenage girl who was a subject of Netflix's "Unsolved Mysteries" was found safe and alive in North Carolina this week.

The girl, now 15, had been missing since 2017.

Kayla Unbehaun was last seen with her mother, Heather, who was the noncustodial parent at the time. Ryan Iskerka, Kayla's father, previously said that Heather took their daughter to a parade and on a Fourth of July camping trip. However, the mother and daughter never returned to Ryan's home in South Elgin, Ill., and a warrant was issued for Heather.

Facebook

"It was discovered that all of Heather's social media had been canceled and her phone turned off," Ryan said in a GoFundMe Page

For five years, Heather and Kayla were off the radar. But in 2022, Netflix's popular "Unsolved Mysteries" revival featured Kayla's abduction, which brought fresh attention to the case and ultimately led to her safe retrieval in Asheville, North Carolina — 700 miles from where she was last seen.

Over the weekend, the Asheville Police Department were tipped off to a reported kidnapping at a retail store after a witness "believed she had recognized a woman who kidnapped a child in 2017″ from "well-publicized media." After responding to the store, police identified Heather and Kalya Unbehaun.

Heather was booked into jail and will be extradited to Illinois.

"I'm overjoyed that Kayla is home safe. I want to thank the South Elgin Police Department, the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children and all of the law enforcement agencies who assisted with her case," Ryan said in a statement Monday through the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. "We ask for privacy as we get to know each other again and navigate this new beginning."

Bravo star asks court to drug test husband amid divorce due to 'serious concerns for the safety' of their children

Kim Zolciak-Biermann and Kroy Biermann's divorce is getting messier by the day.

Ever since the former "Real Housewives of Atlanta" couple split, friends have all but guaranteed that things will get nasty, and that vitriol has certainly begun.

Curtis Means/Ace Pictures/Shutterstock

According to multiple reports, Kim recently filed a court petition to make Kroy take a drug test, as she claims he uses marijuana. Court documents show that she wants the retired NFL player to "submit to a five-panel hair follicle drug screen." She also want him to foot the bill for the test.

Kim claims that Kroy uses marijuana and he's "fearful" their younger children will be "exposed" to the substance. Kim "has serious concerns for the safety and well being of the minor children" under his care, she said.

Ironically, Kim seemed to have little issue with daughter Ariana Biermann's admitted THC usage last year following the 21-year-old's fender bender.

Earlier this month, Kim filed for divorce from Kroy, her husband of nearly 12 years, as the duo's financial issues mounted. In her filing, she asked for spousal support and sole legal and physical custody of the duo's minor children, twins Kaia Rose and Kane Ren, 9, and sons Kash Kade, 10, and Kroy Jagger, 11.

Curtis Means/Ace Pictures/Shutterstock

Last week, a source told People magazine, "Everyone expects this divorce is going to get really bad because neither of them will give in." The source added, "Divorce is terrible but the kids are going to have to go through this in a very public manner."

People's source even argued that Kroy is an excellent father to the children, despite Kim's claims that she's scared for their safety around him.

"It's really sad because he is a great dad," the source said. "With that said, they were both very involved parents and they both deserve to share custody and anyone that knows them would agree."

'The O.C.' actress says 'a job got taken away from me' over podcast comments

Rachel Bilson lost a job after recent risqué comments she made on podcast.

While on the "Women on Top" podcast in early May, "The O.C." alum spoke candidly about her sex life and said she wants to be "manhandled" in the bedroom. The comments quickly made headlines and eventually got back to one of Rachel's employers who didn't seem to take pleasure in them.

Gregory Pace/Shutterstock

"A job got taken away from me because I was speaking candidly and openly about sex in a humorous way on our friend's podcast," she revealed on her "Broad Ideas" podcast. "I basically got a job, that I already had, pulled from me because I was speaking openly about sex."

Rachel's on-screen career has spanned more than two decades, but this is the first time she's ever been fired "because of things that were said." And, she's "floored" that her chatter led to her firing.

"Everything was set in motion and I lost the job. It sucks," she vented. "I haven't said anything inappropriate. … If I could go back, now knowing I lost a job, maybe I would say it differently — but I still wouldn't not say it."

Rachel added, "A single mom, a woman, lost a job because they were being candid and honest and the subject was sex."
