Big yikes! On Aug. 31, 2023, TMZ and "Entertainment Tonight" reported that Kevin Costner's increasingly nasty divorce from his second wife, Christine Baumgartner, was getting even nastier…

The "Yellowstone" star reportedly accused his estranged missus of engaging in a "relentless jihad" against him and of bringing a "wholly unnecessary" level of "animosity" to their divorce proceedings. He also said she's made "baseless attacks" on his character.

He made the allegations in legal documents filed before he and his ex faced off over child support payments in a Santa Barbara, California, courtroom during the last week of August.

According to TMZ, the Oscar winner believes his ex has been "bubbling over with animosity" toward him and has accused him of "being a cheapskate" when, in actuality, he's forked over "way more than a million dollars" to her since she filed for divorce in May.

According to TMZ, Kevin Costner accused his estranged wife, Christine Baumgartner, of lying about her finances: He says "her boyfriend recently gave her" $20K in cash.

The "Yellowstone" star stopped short of naming his ex's purported new beau, but sources close to the situation told TMZ that the actor is under the impression Christine is dating their friend Josh Connor.

In July, Christine and Josh made headlines when they were caught on camera vacationing together in Hawaii (pictured). At the time, TMZ described Josh as a recently divorced (and apparently wealthy) financier who lives near the former couple in Carpinteria, California.

Multiple TMZ source, however, insisted that although Christine and Josh were very close, there was "absolutely no romantic relationship" between them. "They have been good friends for years," one source said.

Kevin apparently believes they've taken their relationship to the next level.

In court, Christine testified that Josh is not her boyfriend but confirmed that he did, in fact, give her $20K — though she says it's not a gift but rather a loan she intends to repay. She also revealed that Josh paid for their trip to Hawaii and claimed that she gave $10K of his $20K loan to her mother, who's been struggling financially since Kevin stopped giving his ex-mother-in-law a $5K per month allowance.

According to TMZ, Kevin Costner is claiming that his estranged wife, Christine Baumgartner, secretly took $105K from him to pay her divorce lawyers.

He also alleges that she's misrepresented how much she needs to continue raising their three children: The "Yellowstone" star says that when his ex — who wants a little more than $175K per month in child support — did the math, she included the bills for her various plastic surgery procedures (a whopping $188.5K per year) as well as fees for her private trainers and other "unallocated credit card expenses" that have nothing to do with the kids.

They "simply differ on what 'reasonable needs' means in the context of child support," Kevin says in legal documents while adding that Christine's child support demands are actually "disguised spousal support."

TMZ reports that the Oscar winner claims Christine, who initially wanted $248K a month in child support, "padded the bill simply because Kevin can afford it, and it has no relationship to their kids' needs."

He says she really only needs $63K a month to live comfortably. (Her lawyer argued in court that where their kids are concerned, luxury is "in their DNA at this point.")

Earlier this summer, a judge ordered Kevin to pay Christine $130K a month in child support.

On Sept. 1, Kevin Costner scored a major win against estranged wife Christine Baumgartner when a judge ruled in favor of the actor and set his monthly child support payments at $63,209 — less than half what he was paying before.

The ruling came as a blow to Christine, who'd wanted the amount raised to $161,592 after it was temporarily set at $129,755. She'd originally asked for $248K in child support for their three kids.

Though the ruling was in his favor, Kevin told Fox News Digital there was "no winner," stating, "You know, when you have a life that long with somebody, there is no winner… and it's this big, crazy thing called life and how it unravels so quickly. One minute you feel like you're on top of the world, and then you realize how, you know, how vulnerable you are."

In July, Kevin Costner and Christine Baumgartner resolved another major issue in their divorce when she officially vacated their marital home.

The former couple spent months fighting over the Oscar winner's $145M estate in Santa Barbara, California. Before they tied the knot in 2004, Christine signed a prenup agreeing to vacate the home within 30 days if she and Kevin ever broke up.

But when the time came for her to move out, she refused. It was months before a judge ruled in early July that she had until the end of the month to find somewhere else to live. She then briefly moved into "a smaller house on the property that's been used as a staff quarter."

Said a People magazine source at the time, "Christine is following the legal advice per the prenup and is vacating the family house. … This is a temporary solution. She is still looking for another house. She is staying in the area to not disrupt [their three] kids' lives. They will be back at school in the fall with their friends. Christine is trying to keep everything as normal as possible. Her sole focus is the kids."

In early August, DailyMail.com reported that Christine had moved into a $35K-per-month rental home.

After months of bitterness, name-calling and legal battles, Kevin Costner and his ex-wife, Christine Baumgartner, are mending fences. "They are now on speaking terms. Things are better," a source told Us Weekly, adding that the exes "didn't want it to get ugly for the kids' sake." The fact that the two can be civil is admirable and somewhat surprising given their legal fight. A full reunion is off the table, though: "There won't be a reconciliation. They're moving on," the source said.

The war between Kevin and Christine was filled with animosity, and she even called him a "cheapskate" during their child support battle.

On Sept. 16, Kevin Costner and Christine Baumgartner settled their divorce. Although details of that agreement have not been made public, TMZ reported that Christine's recent request for Kevin to pay $885,000 in her attorney fees so that she could argue an issue in the prenup (whether her waiver of spousal support is enforceable) is now off the table.

The "Yellowstone" actor is "thrilled that the negotiations are over," Us Weekly's source said. "At the end of the day, Christine is the mother to his children and he didn't want to fight anymore."

Christine Baumgartner, who shares three teenagers with Kevin Costner, initially asked for $248,000 a month in child support. A judge temporarily set it at $129,755, but Christine then wanted it raised to $161,592. Kevin said he'd happily pay $75,000 a month, but Christine rejected that figure. On Sept. 1, 2023 — after a two-day evidentiary hearing in a Santa Barbara, California, courtroom — the judge set Kevin's child support obligation at $63,209 — which is less than half of what Kevin, who's claimed Christine's child support demands were actually "disguised spousal support," was paying.

Despite the child support figure being set in stone, Kevin will make sure his ex-wife and "the kids will be taken care of in their accustomed standard of living for life," a source tells Us Weekly, adding that the Oscar winner "doesn't want them to want for anything." 

The insider also said that Kevin will "always love" Christine and noted that it was "important to him that she and the kids [were] taken care of."

TV star and former NFL player can't agree whether or not it's over after resuming 'marital relations' — Details on split fueled by money issues

Kim Zolciak is trying to get Kroy Biermann's divorce petition shut down after he filed to end their marriage — for the second time — in August.

On Sept. 26, the former "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" star responded to the retired NFL player's second divorce petition, telling the court that they've had "marital sexual relations on multiple occasions" since Kroy filed, Page Six reported.

TMZ further reported that Kim even listed the last time they got busy — Sept. 7 — which to her means the retired NFL player's claim that their marriage is "irretrievably broken" is "demonstrably false." Kim further claimed in her response that she believes their marriage is "viable" and she wants the divorce thrown out.

Kroy, however, doesn't agree with Kim.

On Sept. 26, TMZ obtained new legal documents that Kroy Biermann filed in which he says that even though he's resumed "marital … relations" with Kim Zolciak, it "does not indicate a desire to reconcile" and he "remains steadfast in his desire to divorce" her.

According to Kroy's docs, because of their financial troubles, their home will be foreclosed on in November. He wants to sell their home before that happens and use the proceeds to try to pay off some of their debt, but he thinks Kim is trying to prevent that from happening.

On Aug. 24, retired NFL player Kroy Biermann filed divorce documents for the second time in four months after nonstop "nasty" fights with reality star wife Kim Zolciak — mostly over their unenviable financial situation, reports claimed. 

However, in the days following Kroy's second filing, Kim wasn't acting like her marriage was over. When she and her oldest child, daughter Brielle Biermann, landed at LAX Airport in Los Angeles on Aug. 28, a TMZ videographer asked if there was any chance of another reconciliation, prompting Kim to flash the massive diamond engagement ring and wedding band on her hand. Brielle, meanwhile, pointed out that her mother "has the ring on," implying that it's not necessarily over for good between her parents. "We'll see," Kim added coyly.

In the wake of retired NFL star Kroy Biermann's Aug. 24 divorce filing — his second in four months — TMZ reported that things between him and wife Kim Zolciak were volatile behind closed doors and had been for some time. Multiple media outlets have reported that they were essentially fighting on a daily basis. During one argument, the former "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" star "dared" Kroy to file for divorce, so he called her bluff and did just that. 

The pair's "nasty" arguments allegedly mostly stemmed from their money issues: Kim and Kroy reportedly blame each other for the financial mess they're in. "They've gotten ridiculously petty over who hasn't paid bills. They're counting down to pennies," said a TMZ source.

This isn't the first time Kroy Biermann has had enough. Back in May, he and Kim Zolciak both filed for divorce, and things between them quickly turned ugly. She accused him of abusing drugs and claimed that their kids weren't safe around him. He accused her of having a gambling problem. Kroy also said Kim needed a psychiatric exam for "narcissistic personality disorder." 

Then in July 2023 — after months of nastiness and name-calling — Kim and Kory pulled the plug on their divorce. At the time, TMZ reported that the two were getting along well and wanted to work it out for the sake of their four young children. On July 7 — less than a week after she and the former Atlanta Falcons player were seen at church together — the former "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" star filed a petition to dismiss their divorce. There were reports at the time that Kim and Kroy were leaning on their faith to help repair their marriage. 

But faith couldn't fix their financial woes…

Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann's finances are in shambles. It's been reported that the duo has been building debt for a decade and owe more than $1 million in unpaid taxes. According to TMZ, the former couple owes $1.1 million to the IRS for unpaid taxes, interest and penalties from 2013, 2017 and 2018. They also owe the state of Georgia $15,000 for unpaid taxes from 2018.

Earlier this year, Kim and Kroy's Georgia mansion went into foreclosure and was set to be auctioned off after they defaulted on their $1.65 million loan. The couple was able to work out a deal to keep their mansion off the auction block, and Kim called the fiasco a "misunderstanding."

Their financial struggles weren't limited to their house, though. On Aug. 25, TMZ reported that a credit card company, Capitol One, was going after Kim for more than $150,000 in unpaid debt. In June, Target sued Kim over an unpaid balance of about $2,500 on her Target credit card.

Kim's eldest child, daughter Brielle Biermann, also had some money issues. American Express said the 26-year-old had an unpaid balance of $12,870.25. Amex filed a lawsuit demanding payment. Brielle's rep later said the reality TV star planned to make things right with the credit card company.

Things got so heated between Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann that at one point, cops were called to intervene. After they reconciled, RadarOnline.com obtained police bodycam footage that chronicled the altercation. The pair started fighting again once they learned what each had said about the other…

Kroy called Kim a "narcissist to the extreme level" and told the cops that her gambling was a huge problem. "It's probably been going on for pretty much our entire marriage and it's gotten significantly worse," he said. "In the last two years, she's gambled away $700,000 — just in the last two and a half years. The total in the marriage was about $1.5 million dollars — and she does it online." He then alleged that most of Kim's gambling was done illegally and claimed that her financial losses had "decimated everything."

Kim, meanwhile, told police that Kroy was "crazy" and exhibiting aggressive behavior.

In his latest divorce filing, Kroy Biermann asks for sole legal and physical of the four minor children he shares with Kim Zolciak as well as child support, alimony and attorney's fees. Despite the divorce filing and the clear bad blood, it's believed that the estranged couple is still cohabitating in their Alpharetta, Georgia, home for the sake of their young children.

Back in 2017, Kim Zolciak boldly claimed that divorce is "not an option in my house." The statement came after she was confronted with the fact that many "Real Housewives" marriages fail after they're featured on Bravo. "I would never allow a show to impact my marriage in any way," she said at the time. "My marriage is definitely first." She told Fox News that the "hype of TV and the publicity" were to blame for other reality TV stars' failed marriages. "It's easier to get divorced" than fix the problems, she said.

Singer 'in a bad way' now out of the hospital amid ongoing health issues

Liam Payne was rushed to an Italian hospital with extreme kidney pain earlier this month, and doctors believe an underlying issue is to blame.

The former One Direction singer had been on vacation with girlfriend Kate Cassidy in Lake Como when he suddenly became ill.

The Sun reported that Liam was transported via ambulance to a hospital, where he spent several days in mid-September undergoing emergency treatment. 

Nearly two weeks later, his girlfriend shared a major update on his health.

A source told The Sun, "Liam [Payne] is in a bad way but he's in the best place he can be and finally doctors will be able to get to the bottom of what is going on. Naturally he is gutted that his and [girlfriend Kate Cassidy's one-year anniversary] trip to Lake Como has been ruined but at least she was there to help him when he fell ill."

"Doctors have warned him not to expect to be signed off to go home for at least another six days," the source continued. "They want to do every test possible to understand the issue fully but they now suspect that there has been an underlying issue for a while that has been getting worse."

On Sept. 25 , Liam Payne's girlfriend, Kate Cassidy, told a paparazzi videographer of the singer, "He's feeling a lot better. He's in good hands. He's out of the hospital." (DailyMail.com published a video of the brief interaction — which went down in London while Kate was shopping — here.)

This is just the latest health scare for Liam Payne. Weeks earlier, he told fans he'd been forced to cancel his solo tour because of a serious kidney infection.

"Over the past week I've been in hospital with a serious kidney infection, it's something I wouldn't wish on anyone, and doctors' orders are that I now need to rest and recover," he said in a social media video. "I was beyond excited to come play for you guys. To all of you who have bought tickets: I'm so sorry."

Liam Payne's mother, Karen Payne, is distraught over her son's health issues. 

"We are all worried sick about it but we just have to get on. It's horrible — him being all the way over there. He's in Milan and it sounds like he'll be there for a week. I feel helpless," she told DailyMail.com.

"All we can really do is sit it out here and hope for the best. There is nothing we can do. We feel helpless. It's such a horrible situation and we just hope he's in the best place possible."

Back in 2021, Liam Payne said he "hit rock bottom" after combining fame, alcohol and drugs. 

"I was worried how far my rock bottom was going to be. Where's rock bottom for me? And you would never have seen it. I'm very good at hiding it," he said on the "Diary of a CEO" podcast. "No one would ever have seen it."

Liam said things got very dark for him.

"There is some stuff that I have definitely never, never spoken about. It was really, really, really severe. It was a problem. And it was only until I saw myself after that I was like, 'Right, I need to fix myself,'" he said. "There were a few pictures of me on a boat and I was all bloated out. I call it my pills-and-booze face. My face was just like 10 times more than it is now. I just didn't like myself very much and then I made a change."

COVID lockdowns had a severe impact on his sobriety. 

"Having a lot of time at home — I think a lot of people had this same sort of thing: alcohol. It was just getting earlier and earlier and earlier. Easier and easier to go to. What I've found more than anything with the alcohol is boundaries. If you're on Zoom, you can probably get away with being a bit tipsy, when you're not supposed to be," he said. "I put on so much weight. I was eating badly and describing it as a bulking period — 'I'm doing it for a movie role! It's all good!' That's the best excuse if anyone asks if you've put on weight. Say it's for a role. It's coming out 2022."

Over the summer of 2023, Liam Payne revealed that he had been in rehab for more than three months. In a YouTube video, the former One Direction singer said he needed to "get well," so he checked into a treatment center in Louisiana. 

"I was in bad shape up to that point. I was really happy more than anything when I arrived to kind of put a stopper on life and work. I didn't have my phone for nearly 100 days," he stated. "I didn't connect to the outside world at all and it was kind of prepping me for that moment. Upon leaving was actually the hardest point was turning the phone back on … because it was a little bit scary."

With that lengthy rehab stay behind him, Liam said he had "more of a grip" on his life.

Back in 2016, then-"The Real Housewives of New York City" star Ramona Singer grilled the professional football player — asking him a series of provocative questions — while they were both guests on "Watch What Happens Live."

During a 2016 appearance on "Watch What Happens Live," Travis Kelce shared his thoughts on women "won't sleep with you after the third date."

"The third date? I feel like that's the breaker right there. Three dates, that's like a while… I don't wanna say a dealbreaker, but it puts some questions in the air," he said.

Ramona quipped, What did your mother teach you?!"

Travis replied, "I'm a very, very classy gentleman. Those first two dates are top-of-the-line dates. Then that third one's kinda like a relaxed…"

Travis Kelce said it's not a dealbreaker if a woman has augmented breasts.

"I'm out the door. I've never been a part of that," he said. "If you're arrogant or you think you're snooty or higher or above people, that's the biggest turnoff for me."

Still, he was confident "the stars will align" when it comes to finding "the one."

"I like to believe that all that stuff will come genuine and natural, and I won't have to think about getting into that part of my life ahead of time," he said. "That's what I'm banking on."

The tight end then admitted that he compares all women to his mother, Donna Kelce. 

"My mother is an absolute angel, so I kind of base … who I look at in a significant other based off of … my mother," he said. "You've got to have some sort of sweetness to you."

Taylor, for the record, was sitting with Donna in a suite at Sunday's Chiefs game, so it seems like Mama Kelce has given her official stamp of approval!

The real reasons why an actress from a famous family is divorcing a TV star sentenced to 30 years for rape: Inside her life now

In the days following Danny Masterson's sentencing for two rape convictions — on Sept. 7, 2023, a judge ordered him to serve 30 years in prison — his wife, Bijou Phillips, tried to stay positive and was speaking to him "daily," DailyMail.com claimed.

But on Sept. 18, Bijou (seen here on Sept. 21) filed for divorce — less than two weeks after Danny was sentenced, despite sources' claims that she had no plans to end their 11-year marriage. TMZ reported that she listed their date of separation as "TBD" and is asking for spousal support, attorneys fees and for her legal surname to be restored to Phillips. She's also asking for legal and physical custody of their 9-year-old daughter, with visitation for Danny.

One day after the filing, Bijou's attorney shared this statement with TMZ: "Ms. Phillips has decided to file for divorce from her husband during this unfortunate time. Her priority remains with her daughter," attorney Peter A. Lauzon said.

"This period has been unimaginably hard on the marriage and the family," Bijou's lawyer continued, adding, "Mr. Masterson was always present for Ms. Phillips during her most difficult times of her life. Ms. Phillips acknowledges that Mr. Masterson is a wonderful father to their daughter."

Days later, a new report shed light on the real reason Bijou is ending her marriage…

On Sept. 22, DailyMail.com reported on what it learned are the two main reasons behind Bijou Phillips' divorce filing.

A source told the outlet that Bijou actually still loves Danny and hopes his sentence will be reduced or reversed. "[But] recently, friends and family have told her to be a mom first and to consider divorce because it really shows her daughter that eventually people need to be held accountable for what they do, even if it is someone they love," the source revealed.

The other reason? "Bijou also is doing it to protect her assets and protect her future," the source explained. "She doesn't want to lose money and land and housing over a future civil lawsuit against Danny. She is looking to protect her future and that is one big reason she has pursued divorce."

Despite her desire to end their marriage, "Bijou will never say anything negative about Danny's parenting skills," the source added. "He is incredible in that department."

Just five days before Bijou Phillips's divorce filing, DailyMail.com reported that she and Fianna — the 9-year-old daughter she shares with Danny Masterson — were talking to the convicted rapist on the phone every day, and that Bijou — who was still "very much in love with him," a source said in the Sept. 13 report — believed in his innocence and was determined to "be there for her husband," the source added.

Additionally, Bijou was visiting Danny "whenever there is a chance," the source added.

Danny Masterson and Bijou Phillips have been trying to be honest and transparent with their 9-year-old daughter, Fianna — seen here with her mom and aunt, actress Mackenzie Phillips — in the wake of his convictions and sentencing, without focusing on his incarceration.

The stars "answer all their daughter's questions, but they aren't getting into the nitty gritty," a source told DailyMail.com on Sept. 13. 

"It is extremely emotional and tough, and to harp on it is emotionally draining. The times that Danny talks to his daughter and Bijou, it is always about anything else than the obvious," the source said.

"He continues to try to reassure them that it will be OK. Many tears have been shed but they use the time to talk to each other about school and anything else. There will be a time and place to fill in her daughter fully, but that is still a work in progress."

With Danny Masterson now serving a 30-year prison sentence, his wife has to provide for their daughter on her own. But according to DailyMail.com's source, Bijou Phillips is able to cope financially. "[She] should be fine for the foreseeable future," the source said on Sept. 13.

"When it comes to money, Danny wasn't making as much money as he was making in his heyday, but he is still left with a good amount of money from what was saved from his time with 'That 70's Show,'" the source explained.

"Bijou also is a good saver from the work she has done. They never showed financial distress as Danny did what he had to do for himself and his family to survive while acting jobs weren't as frequent over the years and also having to pay lawyers," the source added.

Right now, the source continued, financial matters are the "least" of Bijou's worries.

"Danny is still fighting but Bijou and her daughter should be fine for the foreseeable future regarding living arrangements and will not be destitute," the source said, adding that "Bijou has a lot of family and friends besides Danny's friends and family that would gladly help in the chance that Bijou falls on hard times."

Just five days before Bijou Phillips filed for divorce, a source told DailyMail.com that the actress was "eager" to start the appeal process following husband Danny Masterson's sentencing on two rape convictions.

The actress was hopeful the "results of his sentence will be drastically changed or overturned," the source said on Sept. 13, adding that "she is still holding out lots of hope that it will change, and he will be free."

In a separate Sept. 13 report from People magazine, an insider shared that Bijou was "surrounded by family and friends" and "in touch with [Danny's] lawyer."

"They are planning appeals. She tries to stay hopeful," the source said.

After Bijou Phillips' husband, Danny Masterson, was sentenced to 30 years in prison, some wondered if their nearly 12-year marriage was over.

A source told People magazine in a Sept. 14 report that while Bijou was "distraught" post-sentencing and "has had a very difficult time since the conviction," she remained committed to their marriage. "She loves Danny and has no plans to file for divorce. She will be by his side for it all," the source said.

But on Sept. 17, Bijou quietly filed for divorce in California, TMZ reported.

Following Danny Masterson's sentencing on Sept. 7, wife Bijou Phillips began to come to grips with a new reality for herself and their 9-year-old daughter, Fianna. According to a source who spoke to DailyMail.com the same day a judge ordered the actor to spend the next 30 years behind bars for two rape convictions, Bijou was approaching this new phase of her life as if there was a death in the family.

"Currently Bijou is circling the drain and is filled with all the emotion and no emotion at all," the source said. "She is a shell of who she has been. She is really trying to be strong for her daughter as she is trying to figure out life and what it will be like for her. It can only be compared to a divorce or a death for her not being able to be with Danny the way they were."

"They had their life, and it has been completely uprooted and changed and change is as scary and miserable as one would imagine. Friends are trying to be there for her, but things are really tough. She's really trying to figure it all out and what her life will be after all things are said and done," the source continued, adding that "whatever happens with Danny will change her life forever and, in a not so dignified word, it just sucks."

Biden urges employers 'to remember that all workers deserve a fair share of the value their labor helped create' as writers strike ends: Stars react

After nearly 150 days of striking, which effectively shut down all scripted movies and TV shows, Hollywood's major film and TV studios have reached a tentative agreement with the Writers Guild of America. Terms of the deal are not known, but reports claim the writers got much of what they demanded.

Should the deal be ratified, as expected, it will officially end the second-longest writers strike in history. With their deal essentially done, writers are being encouraged to picket with the actors union, SAG-AFTRA, which has been on strike since mid-July.

Rock star is 'not out of the woods' yet following near-fatal medical emergency

On Sept. 15, Deryck Whibley's wife, Ari Whibley, sent Sum 41 fans into a frenzy when she took to Instagram to announce that her husband had been hospitalized with a particularly serious case of pneumonia.

"Deryck and I were supposed to be in Chicago right now, celebrating our eight-year wedding anniversary, but the universe had a different plan for us," she captioned a slideshow of photos including an image of two EMTs loading Deryck into an ambulance on a stretcher (see it next).

"We spent the entire night in the ER and will now be spending the next few days here in the hospital as he fights through pneumonia," she revealed.

On Sept. 15, Deryck Whibley's wife, Ari Whibley, wrote on Instagram that "the scariest part" of her husband's medical emergency was that "there is a lot of strain on his heart and they are telling us that there is a possibility of heart failure."

"This is obviously not our first time in a situation like this but it brings back a lot of really difficult memories seeing him back in a hospital bed connected to wires and IVs," she continued. "I know how strong he is because I have witnessed what he has been able to overcome but that doesn't make it any easier to see. I'll do my best to keep everyone updated but if you could keep him in your heart over the next few days, we could really use it."

On Sept. 16, Deryck Whibley's wife, Ari Whibley, returned to Instagram to share an update on his condition…

"I'm very happy to be giving this update," she captioned an image of a bouquet of flowers alongside several candles and framed photos of herself and her husband. "Deryck was discharged after responding so well to his treatments. He is now under the care of his mother who is a registered nurse and myself."

"The pressure and strain on his heart and lungs has improved and he is able to breath without as much pain," she continued. "I can't tell you how truly grateful we are for the community around us. We knew we had support but the outpouring of love for our family has been absolutely overwhelming and we can't begin to say how much it has meant to us and helped us stay positive through this."

On Sept. 19, Deryck Whibley took to Instagram to share an update about his health…

"I wanted to take a minute to say thank you to everyone for so much love and support. Although I'm not out of the woods of this pneumonia yet and have been told to be prepared for a bit of roller coaster sickness over the next couple of weeks, I'm staying positive and doing my best to get through all of this. I'm still bedridden, having a hard time breathing, tight chest pains and some pretty wild fever dreams, that I guess are keeping this whole thing somewhat entertaining. I'm in the best hands and am on the right medicine. I plan on being my absolute best for When We Were Young [in Las Vegas] next month. That's my goal," he captioned a photo of a neon heart.

It's not the first time Deryck has faced a scary and potentially life-threatening medical emergency.

Back in 2014, Deryck Whibley was hospitalized after his "liver and kidneys collapsed" due to excessive alcohol use.

"The reason I got so sick is from all the hard boozing I've been doing over the years," he explained on his website, where he shared this image of himself undergoing treatment in a hospital bed. "It finally caught up to me. I was drinking hard every day. I was sitting at home, poured myself another drink around midnight and was about to watch a movie when all of a sudden I didn't feel so good. I then collapsed to the ground unconscious."

He went on to explain that now-wife Ari Whibley — to who he was engaged at the time — rushed him to the hospital, where he was admitted to the ICU.

"I was stuck with needles and IVs all over," he wrote. "Needless to say it scared me straight. I finally realized I can't drink anymore. If I have one drink the docs say I will die. I'm not preaching or anything but just always drink responsibly."

He was in a coma for three days.

In May, Deryck Whibley's band, Sum 41, announced their plans to throw in the towel after nearly three decades together.

"Being in Sum 41 since 1996 brought us some of the best moments of our lives. We are forever grateful to our fans — both old and new — who have supported us in every way. It is hard to articulate the love and respect w have for all of you, and we wanted you to hear this from us first," they wrote, adding that they were "excited for what the future will bring for each of us."

"Thank you for the last 27 years of Sum 41," they concluded.

The group – which is comprised of Deryck, plus Dave Baksh, Jason McCaslin, Tom Thacker and Frank Zummo – is set to perform at a music festival in Las Vegas in October and in Paris in November.

Deryck Whibley and Ariana Cooper, who now goes by Ari Whibley, tied the knot in Los Angeles in 2015.

He was previously married to Avril Lavigne from 2006 to 2009.

Democratic senator indicted on bribery charges, gold bars seized: Stars react to the corruption scandal

The senior United States senator from New Jersey, Bob Menendez, and his wife, Nadine Arslanian, have been charged with corruption-related offenses over the alleged acceptance of "hundreds of thousands of dollars" in exchange for his influence, according to an indictment filed in federal court. Prosecutors allege the bribes included gold bars, cash, home mortgage payments, compensation for a "low-or-no-show job" and a Mercedes Benz. Three New Jersey businessmen have also been charged for their involvement in the scandal, which benefited interests in Egypt. The indictment claims authorities found more than $480,000 in cash — most of which was hidden — during a search of the Democratic senator's home last year.

With the wrestling world still reeling from the death of Terry Funk, a second major name in the sport has passed — and this loss is especially shocking considering his age.

On Aug. 24, former WWE Champion Windham Rotunda — who's better known by his stage name, Bray Wyatt — died at 36. Triple H announced the news on social media. "Just received a call from WWE Hall of Famer Mike Rotunda who informed us of the tragic news that our WWE family member for life Windham Rotunda — also known as Bray Wyatt — unexpectedly passed earlier today," he wrote. Fightful reported that Bray suffered a heart attack after contracting COVID, which exacerbated a preexisting heart issue. People magazine and TMZ confirmed that his cause of death was a heart attack and that the wrestler had seen a doctor earlier in the day for an ongoing heart condition before he passed away after telling his partner he was going to take a nap.

According to TMZ, family members told police the star had COVID in March 2023 and developed heart complications that led to a "weak lower part of his heart." The outlet further reported that he was not wearing a doctor-recommended heart defibrillator at the time of his death; the device was found in his car, which was parked outside his home.

Bray was hugely popular among wrestling fans, and his ring entrances were always a spectacle. After his passing, many celebrities and famous wrestlers of past and present publicly mourned his death.

Radio star feuds with controversial political talking head over 'convoluted, nutty' rant about his two wives, more news

No longer friends

On the Sept. 19 edition of his SiriusXM radio show, Howard Stern slammed Bill Maher for making "sexist" remarks about the shock jock's marriages on his "Club Random" podcast. Howard — who was married to Alison Berns from 1978 until 2000 before tying the knot with Beth Ostrosky Stern in 2008 — apparently caught Bill's attention with some glowing comments he made on the air about Beth.

"How does this gushing about the second wife — how does that make the first wife feel? Could we just not gush about the person while the other person can still hear it?" Bill said in part on the podcast, according to People.

From Howard's perspective, the mini-rant was uncalled for on multiple levels. "What a sexist thing to say," he griped on his show. "What a convoluted, nutty thing to say. He says it must hurt [Alison's] feelings that I'm in love with a different woman. It's assuming that he knows something about my first marriage. That of course the man must be leaving the woman and the woman must be devastated and be sitting around pining away for her famous man."

He also took issue with Bill's criticism of what Howard maintains was a positive statement. "I don't think I come on the air every day and say I love my wife," he explained. "But I thought it was a pretty positive message, especially with my audience, to say to guys, 'Instead of ragging on our wives, how about talking how we appreciate and love them?'"

According to Howard, he reached out to Bill but got no reply. "I wrote in an email, I said, 'Why don't you give me a phone call? Why don't you tell me what you think about my life and my marriage?' But of course he never wrote me back," he said. "I just wanted to see how brave he was. If he was brave enough to call me and actually get on the phone with me, and zero response." He added that they are "no longer friends."

A song for parents

At the Jonas Brothers' concert in Philadelphia on Sept. 21, Joe Jonas introduced the song "Little Bird" with a nod to parenthood. "This next one is all about being a parent," the singer told the Wells Fargo Center Crowd, according to People. He also wished everyone hoping to become a parent someday "good luck." The group has previously dedicated "Little Bird" to their respective children, but Joe's parents-specific intro hits different given recent developments in his divorce from actress Sophie Turner.

Just hours before Joe took the stage in Philly, Sophie filed a lawsuit demanding Joe return their two young daughters to her. The British "Game of Thrones" alum claims the girls were "wrongfully removed or wrongfully retained," along with their passports, so she can take them back to what she calls their "habitual residence" in England, according to court documents excerpted by The Messenger, which was the first to report the news.

According to a statement issued about the filing by Joe's rep, the former couple met up in New York City on Sept. 17. Joe believed they'd "reached an understanding that they would work together towards an amicable co-parenting setup," the statement read, in part. "Less than 24 hours later, Sophie advised that she wanted to take the children permanently to the UK." Joe's rep also notes the girls are American citizens, Joe is seeking "shared parenting" and he is "okay with the kids being raised both in the U.S. and the UK." 

Finding herself

Gisele Bundchen says she's in "a different place" following her divorce from Tom Brady. Speaking to "CBS News Sunday Morning" for a segment due to air on Sept. 24, the Brazilian-born model reflects on how her life has changed since she and the former NFL star called it quits. "I think it's not what I dreamed of and what I hoped for. My parents have been married for 50 years, and I really wanted that to happen. But I think you have to accept you know sometimes that the way you are in your 20s, it's sometimes you grow together, sometimes you grow apart," she told Lee Cowan in the interview, according to People. "He's the father of my kids," she added. "So I always wish him the best, and I'm so grateful that he gave me wonderful children."

Now that she's single and pursuing new business ventures, Gisele said she's "allowing myself to come out as Gisele versus as 'her,'" as she was regarded during her marriage to one of the world's most successful football players. "I think before I was more surviving, and now I'm living, which is different," she said.

Coming clean

Dwyane Wade is opening up about how he told Gabrielle Union he was expecting a child with another woman in 2013, admitting that he tried to split from the star rather than tell her what he'd done. Dwyane and Gabrielle were on a break from their relationship when he fathered his son Xavier, now 9, but that didn't make it any easier for the NBA alum to come clean, he shared on the "Club Shay Shay" podcast on Sept. 20. "You're thinking about it all. It's all scary," Dwyane recalled, according to Entertainment Tonight. "One, the whole situation is scary enough, you're a public figure. But you know that this is going to hurt someone that you've been building a relationship with and a life with."

Dwyane and Gabrielle had rekindled their romance after the break, but he initially tried to end the relationship when faced with the prospect of telling her the truth. "I tried to pussyfoot around it, I tried to break up with her. 'Hey, things have been bad lately,' 'Hey, we've been having a little distance in our relationship anyway,' I tried all of that," he continued. "She kept showing up. I couldn't have gotten through that moment without her sticking with me. We were in the playoffs. That was a rough time for me. You got a lot on your mind. You're keeping something from people you love. It's heavy."

Dwyane and Gabrielle stuck it out, though, and were married in 2014. In her memoir, the actress wrote that she was "devastated" by the pregnancy, but Dwyane "had worked hard to be forgiven" and she "had chosen" to forgive him.

Astroworld tragedy update

Travis Scott's lawyers claim the phone he was using at the time of his 2021 Astroworld festival — where 10 people died and hundreds more were seriously injured — "fell off a boat" and can't be retrieved, Rolling Stone reported this week. Texts and other communications the rapper sent on the phone were requested as part of lawsuits filed against Travis and others in connection with the deadly event. According to Rolling Stone, the claim surfaced after attorneys for the plaintiffs in the cases accused Travis and his team of failing to "[produce] a single text, WeChat communication, video, or photo from their phones."

In response, Travis' lawyer Steve Brody reportedly said, among other things, that in January 2022, the star's cell phone "landed somewhere at the bottom of the Gulf of Mexico and is not able to be retrieved." He also claimed the phone wasn't backed up because of "significant hacking concerns," though the "vast majority, if not all" of the rapper's texts about the festival with employee David Stromberg, the general manager of his Cactus Jack company, can be delivered to the court. The judge was not impressed.

According to the report, Judge Kristen Hawkins responded by telling Travis' legal team they appear not to have taken "any action" to "secure and download anything from his phone immediately following an event in which 10 people died" or "recover text messages from alternate sources."

Time to stop

Sharon Osbourne has decided to stop using an injectable weight-loss drug after shedding so many pounds she sparked concern from fans. The British TV personality, seen here in January 2023, appeared on "Piers Morgan Uncensored" on Sept. 20 looking extremely thin. "It's just time to stop, I didn't actually want to go this thin but it just happened," she told the talk show host, per the Daily Mail.

Sharon, 70, previously discussed her use of weight-loss drugs on her U.K. show, "The Talk," where she described feeling "nauseous" every day she took the injectable drug. She never specified which brand of drug she'd used, but her symptoms and results suggested she may have joined Ozempic's growing celebrity bandwagon. "In my life, the heaviest I was 230 pounds and I'm now under a hundred," she told E! News a few weeks before her interview with Piers. "And I want to maintain at about 105 because I'm too skinny. But I'm trying to have a healthy balance."

TV star with terminal brain cancer says she's 'fighting for her life every day'

Shannen Doherty continues to defy the odds. Back in 2015, the "Beverly Hills 90210" actress was diagnosed with breast cancer, and her diagnoses over the next eight years have gotten more severe. Over the weekend, though, Shannen shared an optimistic approach to her health battles, saying she's "great."

During a speech at 90s Con — for which she received a standing ovation — the actress spoke valiantly about her health, her divorce and her confidence.

The audience at 90s Con in Tampa, Florida, gave Shannen Doherty a standing ovation when she took the stage. "Thank you so much," she said. "You guys know how much I love crying constantly. And I do, it seems. So, thank you."

Shannen was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015. She entered remission two years later. Then in 2020, her cancer returned as Stage 4. In June, things got a little more dire for the "Charmed" star: Her breast cancer had spread to her brain, she revealed. She secretly underwent several surgeries and began radiation treatments.

At the time, she posted videos of herself being fitted for a special mask that's worn while receiving radiation treatments in an enclosed machine. "My fear is obvious. I am extremely claustrophobic and there was a lot going on in my life," she captioned one of the clips. "I am fortunate as I have great doctors like Dr. Amin Mirhadi and the amazing techs at Cedars-Sinai [Medical Center]," she added, "But that fear…. The turmoil….. the timing of it all…. This is what cancer can look like."

Although her health certainly has an affect on her wellbeing, Shannen Doherty has a strong mindset: "I have a fight for my life, that I deal with every day. I think I am really great," she said to the 90s Con crowd's delight.

The "Heathers" star also had an upbeat attitude while discussing her cancer battle in 2020…

"I'm good. I love it when people say, 'We're praying for you.' … But there comes a point where you go, 'I got this. Like, I'm fine, I'm good.' There's a lot of people in the world that could use prayers — and I'm feeling great," she told "Entertainment Tonight."

"I'm doing better than OK. I'm doing well. I feel strong and healthy and confident and happy," she added at the time.

Amid Shannen Doherty's lengthy cancer battle came some personal news: In April 2023, she filed to divorce her husband of 11 years, Kurt Iswarienko.

Making light of the situation, Shannen joked to the 90s Con crowd, "My other profession is getting engaged, married and divorced, and I'm doing that very well."

After she filed for divor,ce the TV star's rep said, "Divorce is the last thing Shannen wanted. Unfortunately, she felt she was left with no other option."

Her rep also hinted that another woman played a role in the implosion of Shannen's third marriage: "You can contact Kurt's agent, Collier Grimm at PICTUREKID, as she is intimately involved," the rep said.

Shannen Doherty's "Beverly Hills, 90210" co-star Brian Austin Green shared an update on his longtime friend's health last week. 

"She's an incredibly tough person," he told the Herald Sun on Sept. 12 when asked about Shannen. "If there's anyone who could put up a real fight to cancer, she's one of them. It's not an easy situation, obviously, but I love her to death."

Sami Sheen has been vaping daily since she was 14, she admitted in a September TikTok video, but she has to quit because she booked an elective surgery.

"The time has come where I have absolutely no choice and I have to quit soon," she explained. "I'm getting a boob job in two months and I have to be nicotine free for a month before."

"I'm already getting anxiety, OK. I have not gone a single day in the past five years without this motherf*****," she continued, pulling out her vape pen to show the camera.

"I think me getting my boobs done is honestly going to save my life because it's forcing me to quit this," she added. Still, "I'm freaking the f*** out. I've debated on postponing my surgery just because I'm too scared to quit nicotine."

Sami Sheen doesn't really want to keep vaping — she's just addicted, she explained.

"I've tried quitting multiple times — it's really f****** hard," she told fans in a September TikTok video.

"I ordered this book called '[Easy Way] to Quit Vaping' by Allen Carr," the OnlyFans model shared. "Have I started reading it? No! Because I don't want to quit." But she does, she insists. "Realistically, I do want to quit because I know I'm gonna be so much healthier and live longer because of it, but I just don't want to deal with it, I've just been putting it off," she confessed.

Sami added, "I don't know if the book will help. I've seen [how-to-quit] videos, I don't want to f****** read it. Like, realistically, am I going to force myself to read that book? Probably not."

She's desperate for advice.

"If you have any tips on how to quit [vaping], please let me know," Sami Sheen asked her TokTok followers in a September 2023 video before sharing more of what she has and hasn't tried already.

"I'm really scared to try the [nicotine] gum — I don't want to f****** throw up. I'm also terrified of throwing up — I have emetophobia — and I know a lot of people, when they quit, they [vomit], it's their body's way of purging the nicotine," Sami continued. "I don't want to do that. I think that's also a big reason why I haven't quit."

She said she's already tried nicotine lollipops and Life Savers-like candies "and the little fidget toys — none of it works," she lamented. "Someone referred a hypnotist to me so I texted the hypnotist and he never texted back, so there we go."

Sami Sheen wants help — not judgement.

"Please tell me what worked best for you and what gave you the least amount of withdrawal symptoms because I'm so scared," she admitted in her TikTok video about quitting vaping.

"I don't know how I'm going to live without this thing," she said, referring to her vape pen and cartridge. "It's really sad. My whole life revolves around it. I've depended on it for so long. My peak growing stages in life have been dependent on nicotine, which is really f****** bad."

She concluded her video with more honesty: "I'm really scared to post this because people are really judgemental," she said. "I just want people who are struggling to please give me advice and tell me what helped you."

TV star says colleagues 'stabbed her in the back' after her spouse was accused of sexual misconduct

Back in 2018 when Julie Chen Moonves left "The Talk," she implied that it was all her decision. But in an upcoming book, she claims it was actually the opposite and alleges that she was forced out — largely due to sexual misconduct allegations that centered around her husband, Les Moonves.

In her new audiobook, "But First, God," the "Big Brother" host says her faith helped her get through that period of her life during which she felt like she was "stabbed in the back."

While promoting her book on "Good Morning America," Julie Chen Moonves said the decision to leave "The Talk," which she'd moderated for nearly a decade, was made for her, not by her. "Yeah, I never revealed that until 'But First, God.' That was a hard time," she said. "I felt stabbed in the back. I was, you know?"

At the time, more than a dozen women had accused her husband, ViacomCBS CEO Les Moonves, of sexual misconduct. Les, who still maintains his innocence, told The New Yorker back then that he recognized a few of the sexual encounters detailed in Ronan Farrow's exposé but insisted they were consensual.

At the time of the allegations, Julie said in statement: "Leslie is a good man and loving father, devoted husband and inspiring corporate leader. He has always been a kind, decent and moral human being. I fully support my husband and stand by him."

Since then, she has "found God," which helped her during that trying time. "I don't know if I could've reconciled if I didn't have God in my life," she said on "GMA."

Julie Chen Moonves seems disillusioned with the person she was before she left "The Talk."

"Julie Chen before she found God was a self-absorbed, career-minded, vain, gossipy, fun-to-be-with but probably kind of a shallow person," she said. "Julie Chen Moonves, who now knows the Lord, is someone who wants to help others, who wants to look at everyone with a soft heart."

The "Big Brother" host began referring to herself as "Julie Chen Moonves" — instead of just "Julie Chen" — after her husband's scandal.

Julie Chen Moonves didn't want to talk about her husband's alleged sexual improprieties during an interview with Juju Chang on "Good Morning America."

"That's not what we're here to talk about, but of course, yeah. I know my husband, you know? I know my husband," she said when asked if she spoke to him about the allegations.

"I think that's getting off track from 'But First, God.' We all go through hard times in this world and in our life. Mine are not over just because I found Christ. I think we need to keep our focus on him," she added while steering the conversation back toward her book.

In her book, Julie Chen Moonves describes speaking to her teenage son about the sexual misconduct allegations that his father faced. 

"I told him that there were reports that were false about our family. … I kept it simple," she said on "Good Morning America."

"I said, 'So if you ever hear anything, or you read anything, you come to us first. You know this family. You know who we are. And don't let anyone shake that,'" she added.

Grammy winner plays exorcist after long-term partner's affair scandal

It's been well over a year since Shakira and former long-term partner Gerard Piqué split, but she's still trying to get back on her feet. In a new chat with Billboard, the singer says she's in a "reflective" period and starting to feel like herself again.

Although the hitmaker and the soccer star were never legally married, they share two children together. Their highly contentious breakup shook Shakira to her core.

"I'm still in a reflective period," Shakira tells Billboard of life post-split. "I'm still exorcising some demons. The last I have left."

The breakup came amid rumors that Gerard Piqué had cheated on Shakira with then-23-year-old Clara Chia Marti while the songstress was out of town. 

In a joint statement in June 2022, the duo said, "We regret to confirm that we are separating. We ask for privacy at this moment for the well-being of our children, who are our maximum priority. Thank you in advance for your understanding and respect."

After the breakup, things turned petty.

At the time, the singer's home in Barcelona was adjacent to the home owned by Gerard Piqué's mother — some parts of the two properties were even connected. According to Spanish outlet Marca, Shakira built a wall to separate the two homes. She also put a life-size witch doll on her balcony overlooking the home where Gerard's mother lived and blasted a diss track inspired by her ex on repeat for the whole neighborhood to hear.

Shakira later released another track about scorned women — a collaboration with Karol G.

"I feel like a cat with more than nine lives; whenever I think I can't get any better, I suddenly get a second wind," Shakira tells Billboard.

Referring to her mindset after the tumultuous — and very public — breakup, Shakira says, "I've gone through several stages: denial, anger, pain, frustration, anger again, pain again. Now I'm in a survival stage. Like, just get your head above water. And it's a reflection stage. And a stage of working very hard and when I have time with my children, really spend it with them."

Having moved from Spain to Miami, Shakira has found more time to work on herself and her music — her family, though, is what really matters. 

"My priority was my home, my family. I believed in 'till death do us part.' I believed that dream, and I had that dream for myself, for my children," she tells. Billboard "My parents have been together, I don't know, 50 years, and they love each other like the first day, with a love that's unique and unrepeatable. So I know it's possible."

"My mom doesn't leave my [sick] father's side. They still kiss on the mouth. And it has always been my example," she continues. "It's what I wanted for myself and my children, but it didn't happen. If life gives you lemons, you have to make lemonade. That's what I'm doing: making lemonade."

Jenna Dewan got engaged to Tony-winning Broadway performer Steve Kazee in February 2020, but wedding planning still isn't really happening.

"Other things have taken priority at the moment," she told Wonderwall.com. "We'll get there. We've kind of started to narrow down where we wanted to have it, so that's number one. But we have not gotten much further in the planning of it. It will be a topic of conversation, just not at the moment."

Jenna Dewan shared her thoughts on teaching her children — daughter Everly, 10 (with first husband Channing Tatum), and son Callum, 3 (with fiancé Steve Kazee) — fiscal responsibility.

"My daughter is starting to learn budgeting and starting to look at money that she earns and how to handle that," Jenna said. "She's earned money for various different things lately and even at school they're doing it. They do a lot of fundraising and a lot of different bake sales and different things like that at school, and they're learning the value of giving back and the value of budgeting. Callum is 3, so he'll get there."

Does Everly understand the value of money?

"She's getting there. She's done multiple lemonade stands throughout her life. She loves the idea of, which I think is good, working hard and earning," Jenna said. "I realized a lemonade stand was a perfect example. She's not out there just sitting around hoping for a car that comes up. She's out there dancing and high-kicking and putting on a show. So I think she is in her own way understanding, 'OK, I'm going to work hard, earn money, then what do I want to do.'"

Jenna Dewan made her first major purchase when she was on tour with a music superstar.

"I was dancing on tour with Janet [Jackson] and we were in Milan for a show. I remember it was the first time I bought a designer anything. That was not a thing in any sort of way at the time," Jenna recalled.

"So I remember we went into Christian Dior … with Janet and I just remember being like, 'I can spend, OK, let me think about this.' It was a purse I bought, but I wore that purse everywhere. When I tell you everywhere, I [used it] for years."

When asked what she's obsessed with right now, Jenna Dewan responded, "Does it sound really superficial to say Cat TikTok?"

"Someone told me about Cat TikTok and it has been the ultimate entertainment in my whole family," Jenna explained. "We all love it. They're just so funny."

They "don't have cats" because she's allergic, she explained, noting that she imagines what it would be like to have one: "I think they're so funny. Funny animal videos I would say is a big fun thing we're going through right now," she said.

Like tens of thousands of other actors, Jenna Dewan hasn't been working during the 2023 actors strike, but in it, she's found a hidden blessing.

"There is a slowing down and a certain grounding that happens naturally. You're home a lot more. You're with your family. You can appreciate and change a perspective to say, 'OK, well, this is happening for me right now. What can we do that we can maximize what's happening and the time that we're getting to spend together?'" she shared.

"The macro issues that the strike is focusing on are so huge and important and affect the well-being of so many people, and that's really important and I'm really proud to be a part of that. So you are supportive of it, of course, 100%," she said, adding, "Then there's the day-to-day life. So we're home. We're here a lot. So how do we really maximize this time altogether? And it ends up being a really powerful time to connect and bond and ground all together as a family."

The "Today" show host opened up about her early salary while discussing the "substantial pay increase" that Vanna White recently scored from "Wheel of Fortune" producers. "I am glad Vanna got her money," Hoda proclaimed. "It's time. Come on, Vanna!" 

What makes this moment so much sweeter for Hoda is the fact that she was "killing" herself in the late '90s while trying to make a name for herself at NBC — while her male counterparts consistently pulled in significantly more money. Times are changing!

Hoda Kotb joined NBC News in the spring of 1998 as a correspondent for "Dateline NBC" and other NBC News platforms. It's been reported that she now makes about $7 million a year as a "Today" show host, but she had to fight to get what she was due.

"I went for many, many, many years making in local news and whatnot a fraction of what my male co-anchors were making, for sure," she said on "Today."

"I actually never asked [for a raise] because… I didn't want to wake up and go, 'I'm killing myself and making a quarter of what this guy is making who rolled in hot and read the prompter,'" she added.

Due to her financial situation as a young correspondent in New York City, Hoda Kotb would often put off paying one bill in order to pay another. 

"When I first came here, I think I was the lowest paid correspondent at 'Dateline.' It was pretty clear that's the way it was," she said. "And I remember thinking to myself, 'I can't pay my bills here.' I couldn't pay my bills at the same time." 

"And then your argument is 'I can't pay my bills to live here. Is this going to work for me?' After time I ended up making money, but it's a slog through," she added.

Hoda Kotb stressed that asking for a pay raise — particularly if you're worth it — shouldn't be taboo.

"You can have grace and humility and still ask for what you deserve. Both of those things can happen at the same time," she said, adding that asking for a raise is "one of the hardest things for women to do."

Back in April, Hoda Kotb celebrated her 25th year at NBC. During a recent chat with Jenna Bush Hager, she recalled feeling like she didn't fit in during her early days with the network.

"When I first got hired, I felt unworthy of that job, and I remembered them saying, 'Change your hair, change your clothes, change this, change that,'" Hoda recalled. "Nothing was right about me. I felt like I was putting a circle in a square trying to fit."

Hoda is now a fan-favorite at NBC.

Back in March, Amanda Bynes was placed on a psychiatric hold after being found naked and alone while roaming the streets in downtown Los Angeles. TMZ reported that Amanda was not wearing clothes when she waved down a car in the early morning hours of March 19, and informed the driver that she was coming off of a psychotic episode. She then called police herself. 

After being taken to a nearby police station, the former "Easy A" actress was placed on a psychiatric hold in a hospital. She was held for nearly two weeks. 

In June, she was again place on a psychiatric hold.

After the June incident, Amanda Bynes's inner circle said she was very "inconsistent" when it came to taking her medication.

"Amanda was doing better recently and trying her best to take care of herself. She has been making an effort to go to AA meetings, trying to hang out with sober people, and she looked good. The only problem is she is inconsistent about taking her medication, which causes issues," an insider told ET. 

The source added, Amanda's family wants her "to get home safe and get settled. She is a great girl who means well and wants to get better."

"Amanda is doing her best to take care of herself through different treatments. She has been trying to maintain her privacy and spending time with people she likes and trusts," a source told ET on Sept. 22, 2023. 

Having essentially retired from acting in 2010, Amanda has focused on fashion and cosmetology. 

"She is also considering taking on a new work project and looking forward to moving forward with exciting offers that have come her way," ET's source adds.

Over the summer, Amanda Bynes was living in a California mental health treatment center. In early July, the former Nickelodeon child star checked herself into an intensive inpatient facility in Orange County, California, just a week after she checked out of a Los Angeles treatment center. According to TMZ, Amanda felt that she needed inpatient help and wasn't ready to live by herself in her Los Angeles apartment. The troubled former actress reportedly liked being around a medical team, therapists and other patients.

Back in 2014, Amanda Bynes was placed in a conservatorship, helmed by her mother, following a string of troubling behavior. Over time, she cleaned up her life, and a judge terminated her conservatorship on March 22, 2022. Following the 2023 incidents, there was chatter of a second conservatorship. Ultimately, that did not happen.

Comedian accused of sexual assault by five women, more news

Devastating allegations

Russell Brand has been on the defensive all week after five women claimed he sexually assaulted them between 2006 and 2013. He's also being accused of grooming young women.

According to TheWrap, The Times reported that during the height of his career, Russell  exhibited "controlling, abusive and predatory behavior" toward women. Medical records indicate that one of his five accusers (the women do not know each other) was treated at a rape crisis center in Los Angeles the same day she alleges he raped her at his L.A. home. She also shared text messages in which she purportedly told the actor-comedian she was scared of him and felt that he'd taken advantage of her.

Russell denied all accusations. "These allegations pertain to the time when I was working in the mainstream, when I was in the newspapers all the time… when I was in the movies and, as I've written about extensively in my books, I was very, very promiscuous. Now during that time of promiscuity, the relationships I had were absolutely always consensual. I was always transparent about that then, almost too transparent, and I'm being transparent about it now as well, and to see that transparency metastasized into something criminal that I absolutely deny, makes me question, is there another agenda at play?" he said in a video statement.

In the wake of sexual assault allegations, the comedian's September 2023 live stand-up comedy shows were pulled, and his book publisher, Bluebird, paused all future projects with Russell.

Lawsuit

Sophie Turner has filed a lawsuit against her estranged husband, Joe Jonas, citing a child abduction law and claiming that their two children are being "wrongfully retained."

In a filing made in a Manhattan court on Sept. 21, the "Game of Thrones" star requested to secure "the immediate return of children wrongfully removed or wrongfully retained." The Messenger, which first reported the news, explained that Sophie outlined how she and Joe had agreed to raise their two children in England and had officially relocated from Miami to England in April.

Soon after, she began filming an upcoming TV series, "Joan," in the U.K. and he began touring with the Jonas Brothers. Sophie says they agreed that the children would travel with Joe because he'd have more downtime than she would, but the agreement was supposed to be "temporary," according to her legal paperwork.

Sophie now claims Joe is keeping the kids in New York City and has refused to return them to her so that they can head to England. "The Father has possession of the children's passports," the documents claim. "He refuses to return the passports to the Mother and refuses to send the children home to England with the Mother."

The actress is expected to file a similar lawsuit in England.

The truth of "The Talk" exit

In her new audiobook, "But First, God," Julie Chen Moonves opens up about her exit from "The Talk" in 2018, declaring that she was forced out.

"Yeah, I never revealed that until 'But First, God.' That was a hard time," she said on "Good Morning America." "I felt stabbed in the back. I was, you know?"

At the time, more than a dozen women had accused Julie's husband, ViacomCBS CEO Les Moonves, of sexual misconduct. Les still denies the claims. Since then, Julie has let faith guide her. "Julie Chen before she found God was a self-absorbed, career-minded, vain, gossipy, fun to be with but probably kind of a shallow person," she said. "Julie Chen Moonves, who now knows the Lord, is someone who wants to help others, who wants to look at everyone with a soft heart."

During the "GMA" interview, the "Big Brother" host shied away from speaking about the accusations levied against her husband or the #MeToo movement.

Divorce filing

On Sept. 18, Bijou Phillips — Danny Masterson's wife of 11 years — filed for divorce. The move came less than two weeks after Danny was sentenced to serve 30 years in prison for two rape convictions. 

TMZ reported that she listed their date of separation as "TBD" and is asking for spousal support, attorneys fees and for her legal surname to be restored to Phillips. She's also asking for legal and physical custody of their 9-year-old daughter, with visitation for Danny.

Coincidentally, sources recently claimed that Bijou had no plans to leave the "That '70s Show" star despite his three-decade incarceration.

Scary hospitalization

Sum 41 frontman Deryck Whibley — who nearly died a decade ago amid a health crisis — was rushed to the emergency room on Sept. 15 after coming down with pneumonia.

On Sept. 19, he took to X, formerly Twitter, to tell fans that he was fighting but not in the clear. "Although I'm not out of the woods yet and have been told to be prepared for a bit of roller coaster sickness over the next couple of weeks, I'm staying positive and doing my best to get through all of this," he wrote. "I'm still bed ridden, having a hard time breathing, tight chest pains and some pretty wild fever dreams, that I guess are keeping this whole thing somewhat entertaining. I'm in the best hands and am on the right medicine."

Back in 2014, Deryck was hospitalized after his "liver and kidneys collapsed" due to excessive alcohol use, he confrimed. He was in a coma for three days. In his social media message, the musician said he's determined to be on stage with Sum 41 at the When We Were Young Festival in Las Vegas in October. 

DUI arrest

"The Real Housewives of Orange County" star Shannon Beador was arrested on Sept. 17 for allegedly driving under the influence and hitting a house in the process.

According to TMZ, the reality TV star drove her car onto a residential property in Newport Beach, California, and "clipped" a residence. Afterward, Shannon stayed behind the wheel and turned back into the road. Reports indicated Shannon then parked her car in the middle of the street and got out with her dog. She "tried to act like she was taking a walk when police arrived," TMZ wrote.

Police, who received a 911 call about Shannon, weren't buying it and arrested her for DUI. The reality TV star was booked into the Orange County jail for hit-and-run and DUI alcohol, both of which are misdemeanors. She was released without bond.

Agreement reached

It's settled. After months of vitriol, Kevin Costner and Christine Baumgartner have settled their divorce — a decision made after she realized that their prenuptial agreement would almost certainly be enforced.

Details of the settlement haven't been made public, but TMZ reported that Christine's recent request for Kevin to pay $885,000 in attorney fees — for her — so that she could argue an issue in the prenup (whether her waiver of spousal support is enforceable) is now off the table.

Christine is reportedly getting far less than what she wanted but more than what's outlined in the prenup. Kevin agreed to the terms for the sake of settling and ending their four-month child support/spousal support war. "Christine didn't really have a choice but to settle because Kevin had all the power. Had she continued fighting, she would risk losing everything," a friend of the former handbag designer told DailyMail.com.

Money matters

Vanna White is spinning her wheel. The "Wheel of Fortune" co-host had been at odds with show producers over her pay for months, but TMZ reported on Sept. 19 that Vanna signed on for two more years and received a "substantial pay increase" from the $3 million per year she'd been making.

However, that's only half the story. TMZ also reported that despite Vanna finally winning a salary bump, her team was still "mulling over a possible gender discrimination lawsuit against show producer Sony based on the disparity in pay." For reference, it's believed that outgoing "Wheel" co-host Pat Sajak was pulling in about $15 million a year compared to Vanna's annual pay of $3 million (well, $3 million until the new deal for reached).

Presley family risks losing Graceland over Lisa Marie's unpaid debts, more news

Graceland ownership at risk

After the tumultuous resolution of Lisa Marie Presley's estate, a creditor has filed suit over a $3.8 million loan the late star allegedly failed to repay before she died in January 2023.

"Entertainment Tonight" reports Naussany Investments & Private Lending, LLC is suing Lisa Marie's estate over the loan she reportedly took out in 2018, using "her ownership stake in Elvis Presley Enterprises and Graceland" as collateral. Lisa Marie, the only child of Elvis Presley and Priscilla Presley, allegedly agreed to pay back the $3.8 million loan by May 16, 2022. The lending company claims she failed to do so, telling the court its attempts to recover the payment went nowhere. According to the lender, the group had no contact with Lisa Marie after March 23, 2022.

It remains unclear what the lawsuit means for Lisa Marie's daughters, Riley Keough and twins Harper and Finley Lockwood, who inherited their grandfather's famous Graceland home after a legal dispute with their grandmother, Priscilla.

Lisa Marie died of a bowel obstruction, a complication from a prior weight-loss surgery, according to the Los Angeles Coroner's Office. She was 54.

Mystery solved

Lana Del Rey has finally explained those viral photos that showed her working at a Waffle House in Florence, Alabama, in July. At the time, news outlets and fans speculated she may have been shooting a music video at the breakfast joint. Nope. The singer told The Hollywood Reporter she has "family ties" to the small Southern town. During a visit to Florence over the summer, she and her brother and sister spent multiple long, chat-filled mornings in a booth at the local Waffle House.

"We were on our third hour, and the servers asked, 'Do you guys want shirts?'" she told THR. "Hell yeah! We were thrilled." It wasn't long before the employees suggested Lana take a stab at serving customers clad in her new Waffle House uniform shirt, complete with a "Lana" name tag. "This guy, a regular, comes in every day and orders two things, so they were like, 'Just go get it for him!' I brought him a Coke. No ice. And an empty cup. For dip," she said. The store's manager reportedly shot a quick video and popped it on Facebook. A few fans also posted selfies with the star — and voila: Lana's viral Waffle House moment was born.

"I wish my album had gone as viral," she joked, referencing 2023's "Did You Know There's a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd?" "I woke up to, like, 10,000 texts the next morning — some from folks I had not heard from for 10 years. 'Saw your picture at the Waffle House!' I was like, 'Did you hear the new album?'"

Trigger warning

Kerry Washington is opening up about a dark time in her life when she struggled with an eating disorder she describes as "a toxic cycle of self-abuse" in her new memoir, "Thicker Than Water." Speaking to Robin Roberts for a Sept. 24 "20/20" segment, the "Scandal" star detailed her past use of "starvation, binge eating, body obsession and compulsive exercise," admitting that she ultimately wanted to end it all, according to People. "I could feel how the abuse was a way to really hurt myself, as if I didn't want to be here," she said in a preview clip that aired on "Good Morning America" on Sept. 21. "It scared me that I could not want to be here because I was in so much pain." Asked if she was suicidal at that time, Kerry said, "Yeah … The behavior was tiny little acts of trying to destroy myself."

Kerry was in college at the height of her eating disorder and has since developed a healthier relationship with food and her body, thanks to therapy — and her eventual realization that she needed help, she said.

Elsewhere in the interview, Kerry recalled how her personality allowed the disorder to thrive. "I was good at performing 'perfect.' I was good at control," she said, adding that she could "party all night" and "still show up and have good grades." What she couldn't handle was her relationship with food, and her "body-hatred," which she said felt "beyond my control" until she got help.

Today, the actress said she's learned "to check myself" with food-related behavior, thoughts and feelings. Though she notes there's still "discomfort" sometimes, "It's a lot easier. It's a lot saner than it used to be."

'Idiot Sandwich' heads to TV

It's been nearly a decade since "Kitchen Nightmares" star Gordon Ramsay spawned his now-classic "idiot sandwich" meme with a clip that saw him holding pieces of bread on either side of Julie Chen Moonves's face while screaming, "What are you?!" Now, Julie's reply — "an idiot sandwich" — is slated to be the name of Gordon's next reality show, which is set to shoot in Las Vegas and air on Fox.

"Wherever I go, there's some young kid somewhere that wants to be called an 'idiot sandwich,'" the celebrity chef tells People magazine of the meme, which he notes has "gone ballistic" since it first aired. (It was originally a parody skit on "The Late Late Show with James Corden" in 2015.)

In a recent post about the new show on Gordon's Instagram Story, he shared a peek at an application form for potential "Idiot Sandwich" contestants. "Are you an Idiot Sandwich? If so, can you prove it to me live?" Gordon asked in the post, noting that "you don't need to be a chef to apply." The form also featured a description of the show's premise: "The person whose sandwich impresses Chef Ramsay the most will walk away with a cash prize and the ultimate title, being crowned Gordon Ramsay's Idiot Sandwich!" An honor, indeed.

Life after Trump

When Alyssa Farah Griffin left her post in the Donald Trump administration, she says she went through such a "hard time" that even her husband could not pull her out of it. The "View" host recently shared new details about the fallout from her decision to quit working as White House Communications Director in December 2020 in an appearance on Brian Teta's "The View: Behind the Table" podcast.

"I lost a lot of friends, was getting a lot of criticism in the media and really was thinking my career as I knew it was over — and in some ways, it was," she said, as reported by DailyMail.com.

Alyssa eventually bounced back, a shift she credits to her best female friend, Alex. "The closing of a certain door … became opening of others," she recalled. "But I was in a really just down place, and my husband tried for weeks to cheer me up. He eventually reached out to Alex and he was like, 'This is an Alex conversation.'"

Former "Good Morning America" host Amy Robach is headed back to the small screen, but her name won't appear in the title of the show she's slated to anchor, according to DailyMail.com. 

Amy – who was fired from "GMA3" along with her co-host T.J. Holmes after they neglected to disclose their romance to ABC –  was in talks to launch a series called "Robach & Co." on Cable's NewsNation. That project is now off the table, the Mail reported on Sept. 21. Instead, Amy will reportedly serve as the main anchor for a news show with the working title "On The Record" alongside a rotating panel of co-hosts. NewsNation reportedly opted for an approach that featured "less individualization" than it had initially planned, according to the Mail. 

Amy and T.J. were fired from "GMA3" after it was revealed in 2022 that their friendship had turned romantic. They were both married to other people at the time.

Nicki Minaj's husband on house arrest for threatening Cardi B's spouse

Nicki Minaj's husband, Kenneth Petty, is in trouble with the law again after threatening another rapper. A California judge ordered Kenneth be put on house arrest for 120 days after he was recorded in a menacing video threatening Migos rapper Offset. 

"Plan that vacation, you gonna be planning your funeral," Kenneth said in the now-viral clip.

The legal ruling, which was obtained by Page Six, says Nicki's hubby made "threatening remarks toward a specific individual while in the company of someone with a criminal record." Offset, who's married to Cardi B, is that particular "individual."

The situation adds another layer to the years-long beef between Nicki and Cardi.

In a video recorded on Sept. 16, Kenneth Petty and some friends stood outside a hotel in New York City where they believed Offset was staying at the time. They frequently implored him to come "outside."

"You wanna play? It's all fun and games til we wanna play too," Kenneth said.

Shortly after, Offset posted a video of himself laughing while getting off a private jet, indicating he wasn't anywhere near the New York hotel. He also called Kenneth "broke."

After the new ruling, Nicki Minaj's husband won't be "playing" anywhere other than home: His detention program will involve electronic monitoring, GPS tracking and alcohol-consumption monitoring.

Page Six reported Kenneth's violation "raises concerns" over his "willingness to comply with [the] court's orders." The home arrest will "hopefully encourage him to reflect upon and reevaluate his current status in the community," the court docs state.

There's no doubt that Kenneth Petty has a checkered past. In 1995, Kenneth was convicted of attempted first-degree rape of a 16-year-old girl in New York. He was imprisoned and forced to register as a sex offender. In 2006, he also pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter. He then spent several years in prison until his release in 2013. 

In September 2021, Kenneth pleaded guilty to one count of failure to register as a sex offender after he moved to California with Nicki Minaj.

Nicki Minaj and Kenneth Petty were high school sweethearts. They reconciled as adults — years after they first split — and married in 2019.

"He won't even say the word 'Nicki.' He has called me Onika since I was 15 so it's hard to change that," she once said of her man. "I wouldn't date anyone cuz I'm about to be married to my soulmate. But that was the problem, others [are] infatuated with Nicki Minaj — he [don't give a f***] about this industry and is very protective."

In 2020, the duo welcomed a son.

It's unclear what sparked Kenneth Petty's beef with Offset, but their wives have definitely had issues in the past. Nicki Minaj and Cardi B got into a brawl while attending the same New York Fashion Week event in 2018. The two then slammed each other in song lyrics.

But the women appeared to have squashed their beef since then. 

"Ok you guys, let's focus on positive things only from here on out. We're all so blessed. I know this stuff is entertaining and funny to a lot of people but I won't be discussing this nonsense anymore," Nicki tweeted. "Thank you for the support and encouragement year after year. Love you." 

Cardi posted a screenshot of the tweet on her Instagram, writing "@Nickiminaj alright then! Let's keep it positive and keep it pushing!"

But even after that exchange, there's been tension between the women.

Troubled singer's team fears she's not ready to be on TV to promote new memoir

Britney Spears has no plans to get involved in the media circus that's sure to be associated with the release of her tell-all book, "The Woman in Me," next month. Sources close to the singer indicate she's unlikely to do any interviews to promote the memoir because she feels that she's been unfairly covered in the media over the years — she's even reportedly turned down arguably the most iconic news show there is…

A new report says that members of Britney's team also don't believe that she should be speaking to any media outlets, and they cite her Instagram posts as part of the reason why…

Page Six reports that CBS's "60 Minutes" approached Britney Spears about sitting down for an interview, but she gave producers the cold shoulder. That's welcome news to members of her team, who believe the singer is not ready to air it all out on camera. Still, the decision lies "solely" with Britney.

"She's a free woman. She'll decide. It's her choice," a source told the New York Post's gossip column, adding, "She's had offers and she doesn't want to do anything."

Sources close to Britney Spears point to her sometimes-bizarre Instagram posts while making the point that she's not ready for interviews. Since her conservatorship ended in November 2021, the pop star has consistently posted topless and other risqué photos and videos to social media.

Britney Spears has often been critical of the media for how she's been covered — much of which was chronicled in the 2021 documentary "Framing Britney Spears."

Page Six reports the "Toxic" singer "has no desire" to do interviews after having her "mental health, sexuality, parenting and body image constantly scrutinized."

"They have not been fair to Britney," a source insisted of the media.

In April 2022, Britney Spears confirmed the rumors: She was writing a memoir. 

"Well, I'm writing a book at the moment and as it's actually healing and therapeutic… It's also hard bringing up past events in my life… I've never been able to express openly. I can only imagine that I do sound childish, but I was extremely young [when] those events took place… and addressing it now… I'm sure it seems irrelevant to most and I'm completely aware of that!!!" she wrote on Instagram.

According to a previous Page Six report, Brit signed a book deal with Simon & Schuster for an estimated $15 million.
