"It's closing time. We are making America safe again," the official U.S. Customs and Border Protection X account captioned the clip showing a patrol vehicle taking away immigrants as the hit '90s song plays."Closing time, you don't have to go home but you can't stay here. I know who I want to take me home," Semisonic sings on the track.

Semisonic — comprised of members Dan Wilson, John Munson and Jacob Slichter —slammed the Trump administration for using the song without their permission: "We did not authorize or condone the White House's use of our song in any way. And no, they didn't ask," the group told the Associated Press."The song is about joy and possibilities and hope, and they have missed the point entirely," the trio added.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt addressed the video during a Monday, March 17, briefing."The White House and our entire government clearly is leaning into the message of this president and we are unafraid to double down and to take responsibility and ownership of the serious decisions that are being made," she said while addressing Donald Trump's approval of the video.

"The president was elected with an overwhelming mandate to launch the largest mass-deportation campaign in American history. And that's exactly what he is doing," Karoline Leavitt said of Donald Trump. The media liaison emphasized how the former star of The Apprentice has received "overwhelming public support for the policies that he is enacting."

"We are unafraid to message effectively what the president is doing on a daily basis to make our communities safer," Karoline Leavitt continued.According to the New York Post, the number of people crossing the border into America is down by 95 percent since the businessman took office in January.
