All cats go to heaven.
A heartbroken Kate Beckinsale has indicated that she will likely take a social media break to mourn the loss of her beloved cat, Clive.
"Clive has died," she announced on Instagram on Monday, June 12. "I don't have it in me to make a montage or even look at pictures of him yet. Every single part of my house feels like he should be in it."
The "Underworld" and "Pearl Harbor" actress posted a snap of her cradling the feline while indicating that she's going to take some time to herself to process the loss.
"If anyone is expecting to hear from me, you may not for a bit and I'm sorry," she penned. "My heart is absolutely and totally broken."
Clive was rather famous on Kate's social media, as she regularly shared photos of the cat. Often times, she dressed the fur ball up in quirky outfits, put him on a floating pool raft or made him a part of a funny online skit.
"Not sure a cat has ever received so much love and good wishes thank you I think he definitely feels it," she captioned a video in August that showed her putting makeup on the four-legged man.
After the sad announcement, many of Kate's celebrity friends expressed condolences.

"Kate sending you love," Anya Taylor-Joy wrote. Seth Rogen commented, "I'm so sorry."
Lisa Rinna added, "Oh I'm so so sorry for your loss we loved you sharing Clive with us. Thank you."
One fan called Clive the "King of Instagram," and others spoke of how much they'll miss Kate's funny Clive-centric social media posts.
The cause of Clive's death isn't known, but Kate has said he was "quite old."
"We got him when my daughter was little," she told People magazine in 2019, Lily Sheen, now 20, whom she shares with ex Michael Sheen. "And he usually is shaved into an odd shape, but he's a recent cancer survivor."
The loss of Clive comes three years after Kate's dog Ingrid, a Maltese-Chihuahua, died at age 11.
