Erika Jayne has repeatedly claimed that she didn't know about her estranged husband's legal woes and his alleged embezzlement, but her ex believes otherwise.
On Sept. 22, Tom Girardi was leaving lunch in Los Angeles when a paparazzi cameraman asked him the burning question: Did Erika know anything?
"I think she does," Tom stated as two friends tried to squash the impromptu and quick interview, which was posted by Page Six.
Tom appears to ask his buddies afterward, "Who was that?" A friend says, "Some reporter."
Late last year, Tom, once a prominent lawyer, was accused of embezzling money from his law firm, and he was later sued by his business partners, resulting in a chapter 7 bankruptcy petition. The partners claim Tom used money he owed them for "personal gain" and to fund the "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star's lifestyle. Because of this, Erika's finances are being questioned as she allegedly refused to hand over her own bank records. There have also been accusations that the couple's divorce was a sham intended to keep money from those seeking to collect on debts owed by Tom.
Tom's words about his ex are fairly in line with Bethenny Frankel's comments from last week when she claimed that the ex-lawyer's legal situation and massive outstanding debts were a "well-known secret."
On her podcast "Just B With Bethenny Frankel," the former New York housewife recalled meeting Erika a few year ago at a conference Bethenny attended with her late ex, attorney Dennis Shields. Dennis supposedly told Bethenny that Tom was "using people's money to support [Erika's] lifestyle."
"I said, 'Why would he do that?'" she remembered. "He goes, 'He can't say no to her.'"
Last weekend, a fan also asked former "Housewives" star Camille Grammar on Twitter if she had heard "rumors" about Erika and Tom. "Yes. One of the housewives mentioned it at Andy's baby shower," Camille replied.
