Savannah Chrisley is opening up about her parent's prison conditions and the "weird" experience of seeing her father locked up.
"I will say it's really weird seeing him with gray hair," she said on her "Unlocked With Savannah Chrisley" podcast, referring to his trademark blond locks. "Like, really weird. He's definitely used some color over the years, and now seeing him with gray hair. I'm like, 'Oh my gosh!'"
Back in November 2022, the "Chrisley Knows Best" patriarch was sentenced to 12 years behind bars after being found guilty of financial crimes. Julie was sentenced to seven years for similar crimes.
In recalling her visit to her father's Florida prison, Savannah said she found "hope."
"I never felt the presence of Jesus more than I have in that visiting room," she said. "Even visiting my dad, like, I know I have so much hope and so much restored strength that I'm like, 'This isn't the end.'"
"And I know that they're going through what they're going through for us to make a difference, for us to make a change," she continued. "Because whether this appeal works or not, they're still coming out with a story."
While Todd is being housed at Federal Prison Camp Pensacola, Julie is locked up at a federal facility in Lexington, Kentucky. Speaking specifically about her mom's incarceration, Savannah said there's a lot to be desired, even claiming dogs have better living conditions.
"My mom's in a facility that has no air, but yet, there are service dogs for the prison that are in a heated and cooled building because it's inhumane for them not to have air," she said. "I read an executive order that [President Joe] Biden signed that said all federal inmates must be housed in environmentally friendly facilities. And I'm like, 'OK, well, this is completely opposite of that."
