Rob Riggle claims his estranged wife stole $28,000 of his money and has been spying on him via a small spy camera hidden in his home office.
In newly filed court documents obtained by TMZ, the comedian says his ex is staying in the family home with their two children while their divorce plays out. Meanwhile, he's been staying in a smaller home. Rob claims he recently noticed $28,000 in emergency money went missing from his home office, something his ex, Tiffany, said she knew nothing about.
Still, Rob was suspicious and felt that other things also weren't adding up, citing private conversations he was having with his girlfriend that Tiffany somehow knew about. Soon, he wondered if his home office was being bugged, so he and his girlfriend devised a misinformation strategy to see if those faux details got out, and he says they did.
Rob contends that he quickly had the home swept for hidden cameras and says one turned up inside the smoke detector in his home office.
According to TMZ, Rob says the hidden spy camera had a memory card with more than 10,000 videos with sound on it. The video, he claims, shows his ex standing on a ladder installing the spy camera, and another video shows her sitting on the floor of his home office counting money, which he believes is the missing $28,000.
In addition to the supposed missing money, the former "The Daily Show" correspondent said his ex hacked into his Apple account and downloaded its contents.
Rob asserts that Tiffany, who filed for divorce in October 2020 after 21 years of marriage, has been monitoring him since last summer.
A hearing on the matter is set for next month, as Rob has requested an expert look over the alleged footage. In the meantime, a judge granted him a temporary restraining order against Tiffany.
