Ronnie Ortiz-Magro was arrested last week after his girlfriend — the same one who's now downplaying the incident — called police during a physical fight, according to a new report.
TMZ, citing law enforcement sources, said Ronnie's girlfriend, Saffire Matos, called 911 after she and the "Jersey Shore" star got into an argument that turned physical. Once police arrived, they noticed "visible marks on Saffire's body" and determined that Ronnie was the aggressor.
The alleged marks on her body were just "one of multiple" observations that authorities made when they handcuffed Ronnie on April 22, the report states.
Although Saffire was clearly scared enough to call 911 that evening, she's since changed her tune.
"Ronnie and I are fine," she wrote on her Instagram Story, according to Page Six. "There is a lot of misleading information floating around out there. With anybody who reached out with concern I appreciate it with all my heart, but everything that's being portrayed out there are not facts."
"I don't think it's fair that people are using false accusations to gain attention," she continued on her Instagram, which was recently changed to a "private" account. "Please leave Ron and I alone. You don't know what someone is going through at the end of the day. Don't believe everything you hear or read online. I'd appreciate privacy please."
Around the same time, Ronnie broke his silence.
"I take all experiences as lessons," he wrote. "Thank you to my real friends who haven't left my side and haven't betrayed me."
The arrest could spell doom for Ronnie, as he is currently on probation for a different domestic violence incident in L.A. involving his ex Jen Harley, with whom he shares a 3-year-old daughter. Ronnie struck a plea deal last year in that 2019 case, and he was given three years of probation that require him to keep his nose clean.
One of the more troubling details that's been reported about the newest arrest is that Ronnie and Jen's daughter, Ariana, was under his care when the new incident took place. Upon hearing of Ronnie's arrest while she was home in Las Vegas, Jen hightailed it to L.A. to pick up Ariana.
