Donald Trump took a jab at Chuck Schumer after the senior senator from New York disagreed with his policy toward Israel: "Schumer is a Palestinian as far as I'm concerned. He's become a Palestinian. He used to be Jewish. He's not Jewish anymore. He's a Palestinian," Trump said, according to The Washington Post, when asked about lowering corporate taxes.

Lawrence O'Donnell was appalled by Donald Trump's comments."Donald Trump's brain is broken, badly damaged," O'Donnell said on the Wednesday, March 12, episode of The Last Word With Lawrence O'Donnell.
"Once again today, Donald Trump said something that would have gotten any other president rushed to the hospital for a neurological examination and an evaluation for dementia," he added.

Chuck Schumer, who is releasing a book about the Jewish-American experience, has been a vocal advocate for his community."It was a vile antisemitic outburst," Lawrence O'Donnell said of Donald Trump's response to a question unrelated to Schumer.
_
Lawrence O'Donnell also noted that Donald Trump's peers didn't shut down his comments."Not a single Republican anywhere in America who claims to be a staunch supporter of Israel and the Jewish people rose up to object to Donald Trump declaring Chuck Schumer to not be Jewish anymore," O'Donnell said after reviewing video footage of Trump.
"So Donald Trump, who has no idea what it is to be Jewish or Palestinian, now decides who is Jewish in this country," he added.

Throughout his political career, critics of Donald Trump have compared him to Adolf Hitler."The disgrace of every elected Republican in Washington is that not one of them dares to complain about that kind of poison coming out of the foul mouth of Donald Trump," Lawrence O'Donnell stated.

Donald Trump — whose father, Fred Trump Sr., was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 1991 — has been displaying signs of a cognitive decline, his nephew, Fred C. Trump III, has alleged."Trump's mind is gone. It is shattered," Lawrence O'Donnell said. "Not a single person who ever tries to interpret Donald Trump for you and defensively tries to tell you what Donald Trump meant when he says something insane ever uses the actual words of Donald Trump to explain Donald Trump, because Donald Trump, who once said, 'I have the best words,' says things all the time, every day, that make absolutely no sense and frequently are filled with hatred."

Lawrence O'Donnell noted how harmful it is for Donald Trump to make comments about Jewish people."The United States of America now has a head of state who decides who is Jewish and who is not. Who else had a head of state who did that? Ever heard of a head of state doing anything like that?" the MSNBC host questioned.

Lawrence O'Donnell later referenced the Third Reich when discussing Donald Trump's rhetoric."You have to be in your 90s to remember the last time the world had a head of state who decided who was Jewish and who was not," he concluded. "That was one of Adolf Hitler's first ideas about how to govern Germany."
