When Khloe Kardashian dumped Tristan Thompson following his cheating scandal with Jordyn Woods last year, Kim Kardashian West stood by her sister, as did the rest of their family.
But as time has passed, Khloe and Tristan have demonstrated the extent of their commitment to remaining great co-parents to their daughter True — and standing with Khloe has started to mean forgiving the Cavaliers star for his mistakes.
That's just what Kim seems to have done in a new bonus clip from Season 18 of "Keeping Up With the Kardashians." In one scene, Kim hits the basketball court with the ex of another one of her siblings, Scott Disick, who asks for a recap of her meet-up with Tristan a few months earlier.
"Wait, I'm dying to hear, so when you were in New York you went to dinner with Tristan?" Scott asks (via E! News) "How was that?"
Kim then admits that she did invite Tristan to join her and some friends for a meal when she was in the Big Apple. It "was good," she says. "He's like, honestly, so nice … like, he's really nice."
Scott can't help but agree. "He made mistakes, but I feel like he's trying really hard," he says.
Kim, who still seems a little stunned by Tristan's apparent transformation, adds, "He's really trying really hard. And it's been a full year of him as a different person."
Says Scott: "To be in that place and feel like everybody in the family that he just had a kid with hates him would be, like, a horrible feeling. No matter what, he's still within the family."
Tristan, for his part, seems to be doing everything he can to win over members of that family, and it definitely seems to be helping. According to People, Kim shared a sweet birthday wish for Tristan in March, and Tristan sent Kim flowers for Mother's Day.
Meanwhile, Khloe and Tristan have been self-isolating together with True, which seems to have helped rekindle their friendship. In an April episode of "KUWTK," Khloe even admits she won't rule out having another child with Tristan, even though the two reportedly have no plans to be a couple again.
"I don't think what Tristan did was obviously right," Kim said of Tristan's extra-curricular activities while he was with Khloe. "I brutalized him. But I also know that that's True dad."
Throwing out the example of their parents, Kim added, "Mom cheated on Dad, and all of their friends forgave her."
"KUWTK" returns with new episodes in September after a COVID-19-related hiatus.
