Nearly two years after Kim Kardashian pulled the plug on her seven-year marriage to Kanye West, she and the rapper have finally settled their divorce.
The settlement comes just weeks before the case was set to go to trial, and there was some doubt as to whether Ye would even participate in the legal process.
According to TMZ, Kim and Kanye will get joint custody with "equal access" to their four children, but the Skims founder will still have the kids the majority of the time, as she does now. Further, Kanye's share of monthly child support was set at $200,000, which he will have to wire to Kim.
Both parents waived spousal support and their division of assets is being guided by their prenup.
Continuing with the 50/50 theme of the settlement, Ye will be responsible for half of their kids' security expenses and half of their educational expenses.
In the event that the parents have a disagreement pertaining to a child, the settlement states that Kim and Kanye will participate in mediation. If one of them fails to participate, the other gets to make the decision in a dispute by default, TMZ reported.
In a bit of a twist, Kanye is giving Kim the home he owns that borders her current residence in Los Angeles County's Hidden Hills enclave. Kanye bought the home in December 2021 for $4.5 million to be near the kids. As the five-bedroom property reportedly needs a lot of work done, Kim will likely level it and add acreage to her current estate. Ye never lived in the home.
In regard to real estate, Kim will keep the $60 million estate where she and the kids live, and she'll retain property she owns in Idaho. Kanye, TMZ reported, will keep his $60 million home on the beach in Malibu, two ranches in Wyoming, 300 acres in Calabasas, California, a home in Belgium and his childhood home in Chicago, which he bought.
Getting to this point has been far from easy, particularly because Ye often refused to participate.
"Kim's patience was tested, but she handled things calmly and ultimately Kanye came around," a source said.
