Kevin Costner's lawyer is ripping claims that the actor is limiting his "Yellowstone" filming schedule.
Earlier this month, Deadline revealed that Kevin is having issues with his shooting schedule, and he's pushing back. The report alleged that Kevin, who portrays ranch owner John Dutton in the drama, only wants to spend one week filming the second half of the fifth season, whereas showrunners have asked for two weeks.
As of now, the continuation of the fifth season is supposed to be filmed this summer and no episodes have been shot.
"The idea that Kevin was only willing to work one week on the second half of season 5 of Yellowstone is an absolute lie," said Marty Singer, the lawyer for the Golden Globe winner. "It's ridiculous — and anyone suggesting it shouldn't be believed for one second."
In his statement to Puck News, the lawyer adds, "As everyone who knows anything about Kevin is well aware, he is incredibly passionate about the show and has always gone way above and beyond to ensure its success."
Kevin has been with the show since the beginning, but Deadline claimed in early February that friction between Kevin and the top brass is "causing morale issues with fellow actors on the show."
Although Kevin's lawyer insists that everything is on the up and up with Paramount, the "Field of Dreams" star's assistant seemed to hint otherwise. In a since-deleted social media post, Glenn Kleczkowski took a shot at "Yellowstone" creator Taylor Sheridan's new show "Tulsa King" writing, "Stick to westerns, bro. You don't know S*** about THIS life. Stay in your lane, country boy. I'm actually embarrassed for you as a writer and creator."
Reports claim the "Yellowstone" creator has discussed trying to extend the hugely popular franchise with a new show starring Matthew McConaughey. Amid all the rumors and speculation, a Paramount Network spokesperson said, "We have no news to report. Kevin Costner is a big part of Yellowstone and we hope that's the case for a long time to come. Thanks to the brilliant mind of Taylor Sheridan, we are always working on franchise expansions of this incredible world he has built. Matthew McConaughey is a phenomenal talent with whom we'd love to partner."
