Kathy Hilton is happy being a full-time wife … not a full-time "Real Housewife."
Amid rumors that Paris Hilton's mom was being offered a gig on the "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills," Page Six reported that Kathy is interested in joining the show, but only as a "friend," meaning she'd only have to show up occasionally on the Bravo show.
The source said Kathy feels that it's simply "easier" to be an associate of the main cast, as opposed to actually being in the main cast.
"For one thing, part-timers don't have to take part in the grueling postseason reunion specials, which take several long days to produce," Page Six reported on Sept. 28.
Andy Cohen, the executive producer of the "Housewives" franchise, has been tasked with filling the void left by Denise Richards' recent departure.
Kathy is no stranger to the show, as she is the half-sister of Kyle Richards and former "Housewives" star Kim Richards. The socialite has also appeared on the show several times over the years.
Speculation about Kathy's potential involvement in the show is nothing new. In fact, last year rumors circulated that she could become a full-time member of the show.
"I would be happy if my sister joined," Kyle said on "Watch What Happens Live" as rumors surfaced. "I've had one sister on, why not have another sister on."
Kyle added that Paris and Nicky Hilton's mom is "one of the funniest people there is."
"She's a practical joker and she's very, very funny," Kyle said, "so I think she'd be an amazing Housewife actually."
Kathy wasn't the only high-profile name in the rumor mill. Following the Kardashian-Jenner family's announcement that it was ending "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" after next season, many fans pleaded for Kris Jenner to join the "Housewives" cast. However, she shot down those fan's hopes on "Ellen" last week.
"There's just too much going on in my life," she said, "and they do not need a Kris Jenner on that show. They are doing just fine."
