Kanye West is trying to right his wrongs.
Over the past several months, the rapper has publicly skewered his estranged wife, Kim Kardashian, and her boyfriend, Pete Davidson, on Instagram. He is now apologizing to Kim and his fans while also acknowledging that he was "harassing" the Skims owner.
"I've learned that using all caps makes people feel like I'm screaming at them," he said on Instagram on Feb. 15, referring to his penchant to write his Instagram captions entirely in capitalized letters. "I'm working on my communication. I can benefit from a team of creative professionals, organizers, mobilizers and community leaders. Thank everybody for supporting me."
On Feb. 14, Ye also shared a screenshot of text conversation with Kim in which she pleaded with him to stop attacking Pete, who Kanye nicknamed "Skete."
"I know sharing screen shots was jarring and came off as harassing Kim. I take accountability," Ye wrote in his Tuesday caption. "I'm still learning in real time. I don't have all the answers. To be good leader is to be a good listener."
As he posted his mea culpa, Kanye also wiped his Instagram account, which he does fairly regularly. Earlier on Feb. 15, the only photo he had on his page was of his family. In his caption, he asked God to bring them together again. That post has now been scrubbed.
Kanye's Instagram has been a mix of love and hostility toward his ex. Last month, he accused Kim of "kidnapping" their daughter Chicago on her 4th birthday, and he publicly blasted the "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" star for letting their older daughter, North, have a TikTok account.
In a rare statement about the father of her four children, Kim wrote on Instagram, "Kanye's constant attacks on me in interviews and on social media is actually more hurtful than any TikTok North might create. As the parent who is the main provider and caregiver for our children, I am doing my best to protect our daughter while also allowing her to express her creativity in the medium that she wishes with adult supervision — because it brings her happiness. Divorce is difficult enough on our children and Kanye's obsession with trying to control and manipulate our situation so negatively and publicly is only causing further pain for all."
