Jamie Foxx is happy to talk about the NBA, but Katie Holmes, well, that's a foul!
On Feb. 16, while the actor was doing an interview with ESPN as part of a live broadcast for SportsCenter leading up the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game, the interviewer, Michael Smith, tried to casually toss in a Katie Holmes question.
"I know you prepared [for the game] because I saw pictures," began the anchor. "Did you and Katie Holmes play basketball for Valentine's Day? Like some real 'Love and Basketball'?"
Gulp, err, awkward! Without saying a word, a blank-faced Jamie removed his headphones and mic and went over to do some leg warmups on the court.
Michael then added, "He ready to go. He ready to hoop," before moving on to the next segment.
The rumor mill has been churning like crazy about Jamie and Katie for years, and while they've managed to keep their relationship mostly private, the pair have been seen in public more and more frequently in recent months. They were even seen together at Clive Davis' annual Pre-Grammy Gala.
They were also photographed together on Valentine's Day: E! News published a photo of Jamie and Katie walking together in Los Angeles. In the shot, the casually dressed, fedora-clad duo are walking together as the singer-actor totes a basketball under one arm.
The Feb. 16 basketball match was presented by Ruffles. Jamie joined Michael B. Jordan, Nick Cannon, Justin Bieber, Drew Scott and others for a a little game of b-ball.
One eyewitness told E! that the "Horrible Bosses" star had quite the fan club in the stands, including his daughter, who cheered for her dad from the sidelines.
"He was stoked about playing and really pumped," a witness told E! News. "Jamie got switched out and he came over to the crowd and jumped up on a chair and made the crowd start chanting 'Jamie!'"
Turns out the support helped as Jamie's team (the Clippers) came out on top, beating the Lakers 75 to 66.
