Amid his legal troubles, one woman in Donald Trump's life is sticking by his side while another has essentially "disappeared."
Ivanka Trump, the eldest daughter of the former president, is not expected to publicly support her father as he faces charges related to alleged mishandling of confidential documents. The former White House adviser "will be staying far away from daddy," a source told Page Six.
A separate source said, "Ivanka has disappeared."
Ivanka has already declared that she will not be a part of her dad's 2024 presidential campaign, and she's been fairly apolitical since leaving the White House. After the former POTUS was indicted in the spring on charges related to a hush money payment to adult film star Stormy Daniels, Ivanka issued a brief statement. "I love my father and I love my country. Today, I am pained for both. I appreciate the voices across the political spectrum expressing support and concern," she said.
Just prior to that March arrest, a source told Page Six that Ivanka and her husband, Jared Kushner, want "nothing" to do with the drama that surrounds the 45th President.
"They are staying away and don't want to be hounded by reporters. I don't think you will see them defending him, it will be no comment," the source said. "Ivanka lost a lot of friends and her social scenes during his presidency … They want to put it in the rearview. They want it behind them."
Although Ivanka is seemingly giving her dad the stiff arm, Melania Trump plans to stand by her man as he fights 31 counts of willful retention of national defense information and single counts of false statements and representations, conspiracy to obstruct justice, withholding a document or record, corruptly concealing a document, concealing a document in a federal investigation and a scheme to conceal. In all he's accused of breaking seven different laws with his handling of there confidential documents.
"She is used to this," an insider said of Melania. "They are used to dealing with this stuff."
A separate source close to the former First Lady said, "Melania is standing by her husband, but quietly and privately. He's been on the phone with Melania, who's supporting him 100 percent. They both knew this — and more — was coming."
While Trump was in New Jersey when the indictment news broke, his wife was in New York City.
"[Melania] flew to the East Coast to see her mother in the apartment she personally decorated for her with a designer. She even chose the fabrics herself at the D&D building. She will meet up with Donald at Trump Tower, where he has legal meetings," said a different source. "Trump will be back at Mar-a-Lago, where his security is [better] and she will be with him. But she won't be with him when he surrenders himself to authorities."
