Incoming Paramount Boss Privately Pressures CBS News Chief and '60 Minutes' to Pay Trump Lawsuit Cash

New Paramount Global President Jeff Shell reportedly wants his staffers to make nice with President Donald Trump.
After the current commander-in-chief filed a lawsuit against the company, claiming former Vice President Kamala Harris' 60 Minutes interview was edited to her advantage to enhance her chances of winning the 2024 election, Shell allegedly wants CBS News Chief Wendy McMahon and head of the long running show Bill Owens to settle the legal dispute once and for all.

According to a report by Status, Shell held a meeting with McMahon and Owens after Trump demanded that they release the unedited version of their sit-down with Harris, where the executive requested they comply with the orders.
Per the source, the anchor and the producer expressed to their fellow employees how they were disturbed that Shell would insert himself into what goes on in the news division.

Shell and Non-Executive Chairwoman of Paramount Global Shari Redstone have allegedly continued to pressure McMahon and Owens to end the $20 billion legal battle with The Apprentice star.
The New York Times claimed Shell told the pair that the compromise would only be a temporary setback. However, McMahon and Owens stayed firm on what a terrible precedent it would set for journalism.

Many other news networks are enduring drastic changes and seemingly scumming to pressure as the Trump administration continues to alter the media landscape.
Last month, the White House announced it would start being more selective about the outlets they will allow to have access and obtain Oval Office credentials. "It's beyond time that the White House press operation reflects the media habits of the American people in 2025, not 1925," Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt explained.

"The White House press team, in this administration, will determine who gets to enjoy the very privileged and limited access in spaces such as Air Force One and the Oval Office," she confirmed. "A select group of D.C.-based journalists should no longer have a monopoly of press access at the White House."
Trump has been clear about the reporters he's not a fan of. After MSNBC's Joy Reid was let go from the left-wing network as a part of a massive company shake-up to boost ratings, the politician took to social media to rejoice.

"Lowlife Chairman of 'Concast,' Brian Roberts, the owner of Ratings Challenged NBC and MSDNC, has finally gotten the nerve up to fire one of the least talented people in television, the mentally obnoxious racist, Joy Reid. Based on her ratings, which were virtually non-existent, she should have been 'canned' long ago, along with everyone else who works there," Trump ranted on the platform.
In Reid's final broadcast, she warned her viewers of "fascism" under the current leadership. "When you are in the midst of a crisis and specifically a crisis of democracy, how do you resist? When fascism isn't just coming, it's already here?" she questioned.
