"How about we just take $3 billion in subsidies we give to oil and gas companies that turn billions in profits," he said.
"How long did that take? Oh, wait! How about we just close down the carried interest loophole on hedge funds? That's $1.3 billion a year. Holy s—! I can't believe it! I just saved us billions of dollars in 11 seconds!" the television star nearly yelled.

While Stewart made his concerns about DOGE known, Senate Republicans have also spoken out about people being laid off and funds being axed.
"Everybody's concerned when you have people cutting out of your state," Republican Senator Tommy Tuberville from Alabama told NBC News. "But we all understand, it's — that's just part of it, you know, we're way over, bloated, we got to cut back."

Meanwhile, another right-wing senator, Lisa Murkowski, expressed her worries about Trump and Musk's efforts.
"They've given us different avenues to pursue," she told the outlet. "If we're trying to unstick some funding somewhere and we're not getting an answer over here, then we've got a couple other phone numbers to call."
