The Apprentice star allegedly initiated the meet-up after discovering that the billionaire was aiming to build a large Telsa factory in Mexico instead of Texas. According to an insider, right before meeting with Trump in his office, Musk branded Trump a "f—— moron."
"We walk into the Oval, and he kind of looks around, and he's looking around," the insider alleged of Musk. "He's like, 'Gosh, I tell you. I mean, I was just in China and man, their palaces just make the White House kind of look more like an outhouse.'"

Per the source, the commander-in-chief was furious over the snide remark. Despite the tension, Trump told the SpaceX owner he had two Telsa vehicles. However, the mood became cumbersome again when the former reality star didn't understand how the supercharging network worked.

In June of that year, Musk revoked his help after the right-wing leader pulled America out of the Paris Climate Accords. "Am departing presidential councils," he announced on social media at the time. "Climate change is real. Leaving Paris is not good for America or the world."

"It's time for Trump to hang up his hat and sail into the sunset," he boldly stated.
In typical Trump-style, he fired back at Musk in a post shared to Truth Social. "When Elon Musk came to the White House asking me for help on all of his many subsidized projects, whether it's electric cars that don't drive long enough, driverless cars that crash, or rocket ships to nowhere, without which subsidies he'd be worthless, and telling me how he was a big Trump fan and Republican, I could have said, 'drop to your knees and beg,' and he would have done it," he claimed.

Now, the two are closer than ever, as they continue to slash the government's spending with DOGE.
"You know, I wanted to find somebody smarter than him," Trump said about Musk during a joint interview with Fox. "I searched all over. I just couldn't do it. I couldn't. I really tried hard. I couldn't find anyone smarter. We settled on this guy."
