President Donald Trump massively drew in viewership for his most recent State of the Union address.According to Nielsen figures, the current commander-in-chief's Tuesday, March 4, speech to the nation had roughly 36.6 million people watching compared to former President Joe Biden's 32.2 million during his final talk on March 7, 2024, before leaving the Oval Office.

Per Nielsen findings via The Wrap, Trump's one hour and 40-minute address saw a high of 37.9 million citizens tune in between 9:45 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. ET, a — 13 percent increase compared to Biden's.Despite the major win for the Republican, the stats were down from his previous speeches in 2017 (47.74 million), 2019 (45.6 million) and 2020 (46.79 million) during his first term.

During Trump's big moment, 5.7 percent of watchers were ages 18 to 34, 20.5 percent were 35 to 54 and 70.7 percent were 55 and older. Fox News also racked up more of an audience compared to when Biden was in the White House.As for the former vice president, research showed that out of his viewers, 5 percent were aged 18-34, 19 percent of viewers were 35-54 and 74 percent of viewers were aged 55 and older. Despite the Democrat being in power at the time, MSNBC and CNN's ratings went down with both administrations.

Fox News scored 10.7 million viewers for Trump's address — up 84 percent from last year. CNN and MSNBC raked in 1.9 million viewers.During the businessman's speech for the joint session of Congress, he touched upon tariffs, DEI, domestic policy and foreign affairs, amongst other pressing issues.

Democratic Representative from Texas Al Green was ejected from the proceedings after he interrupted Trump's speech and refused to sit down.On Thursday, March 6, the House voted to censure the left-winger over his outburst. "I want us to have proper decorum. I want us to maintain really the great tradition of this institution," Speaker Mike Johnson said of the situation. "And these things do damage to it and I'm sorry that it happened."
