Zelenskyy Reveals Deadly Kremlin-Assassination Attempt
For the first time, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has detailed how he narrowly escaped an assassination attempt inside his fortified presidential office in Kyiv. The attack, orchestrated by the Kremlin, saw Russian hitmen infiltrate his secure compound with the intent to kill him and seize control of Ukraine. In an interview, Zelenskyy confirmed that people were killed during the assault, stating, "There were people who wanted to kill [me]. There were gunshots and more. Some people were killed here, inside the Presidential Office, others were defending us."

Multiple Assassination Attempts on Ukraine's Leader
Zelenskyy has reportedly survived at least five or six assassination attempts since Russia launched its full-scale invasion three years ago this month. By March of 2022, at least three attempts had been documented as Russian forces pushed toward Kyiv before being forced into retreat.Speaking to The Sun from his headquarters, Zelenskyy admitted he has lost track of how many times he has been targeted. Comparing the initial assassination plot to the early days of the Covid pandemic, he said, "The first one is very interesting, when it is the first time, and after that, it is just like Covid. First of all, people don't know what to do with it, and it's looking very scary."
Russian Special Forces Targeted Zelenskyy on Day One
On the very first day of the invasion, Russian special forces parachuted into Kyiv with the explicit mission to eliminate the leader. His bodyguards scrambled to secure the Presidential Office, using makeshift barricades and plywood to fortify the building. In a desperate bid to protect their leader, Zelenskyy's closest aides were issued rifles and body armor, turning the office into what was described as a "madhouse."
Despite the imminent danger, when U.S. and British officials offered to evacuate him to safety, the president famously refused, declaring, "I need ammo, not a ride."
Russian Spy Caught Operating in Ukrainian Intelligence
As Zelenskyy continues to battle threats on multiple fronts, his administration uncovered a high-level Russian mole within Ukraine's intelligence service.Colonel Dmytro Koziura was dramatically arrested for allegedly working as an undercover agent for Russia's FSB. Ukrainian intelligence confirmed 14 cases of Koziura passing classified information to Russian forces.
The Kremlin tasked him with gathering intelligence on Ukrainian military movements, security infrastructure and damage assessments following Russian missile strikes.
Ukraine's Fight Against Sabotage from Within
Reports indicate that Moscow specifically wanted intelligence on Ukrainian responses to Russian military operations. The captured colonel was photographed in custody, handcuffed with visible cuts and bruises on his head a stark reminder of the Kremlin's deep infiltration efforts.Despite these threats, Zelenskyy and his administration remain determined to root out Russian spies while continuing to defend Ukraine's sovereignty.
