On Jan. 17, Criss Angel took to social media for "the most important post" he's ever made: his 7-year-old son, Johnny Crisstopher, is cancer free, he happily declared.
"Today our son Johnny Crisstopher will finally ring the bell symbolizing his remission and the end of his treatment!," the famed illusionist captioned a 14-minute video dedicated to his son.
The tot, who Criss shares with wife Shaunyl Benson, was first diagnosed with leukemia in 2015.
Criss' video, titled "1095," features footage of Johnny's long journey, including hard-to-watch moments of the child hooked up machines in the hospital.
"Ten percent of kids that go through the treatment they don't even make it, not because of the cancer, but because of the types of medicines they have to put in their bodies. Ten percent lose their lives," Criss says in the video.
The title of the film comes from the 1,095 chemotherapy sessions that Johnny endured during his fight with B-Cell A.L.L. Leukemia.
Criss and Shaunyl, who are also parents to son Yanni, 2, and daughter Illusia Angelina, 10 weeks, are hoping to raise money to help fight pediatric cancer with the video.
"Let them know that they are not alone, you know what I mean. There is magic in the world and that magic is love," the "Mindfreak" star said. "While you watched this short film, seven children were diagnosed with cancer."
Criss' footage was posted around the same time Shaunyl shared her own video of Johnny ending his treatment.
"These last cycles were tough, especially after giving birth early to Johnny's little sister Illusia. These videos were taken over the last 4 months, as we finally finish Johnny's treatment for relapsed acute lymphoblastic leukemia. We have an amazing support system and I'm so so grateful for my parents and their selflessness. Family is everything, especially during the hard times," she wrote. "We are so proud of you my Johnny boy. This is ALL YOU ♥️ This chapter of your life will finally be behind you and I'm so excited for your future. I can't wait to finally see you ring that bell my love. Ring it hard because the whole world is proud of you!"
