It doesn't seem like "The Bachelor" couple Clare Crawley and Dale Moss will have a fairytale ending.
The couple, who had a lighting-quick romance and engagement on the ABC dating show, split in January. However, last month, they were photographed hand-in-hand during a vacation in Florida, prompting many to naturally assume they were giving it another go. A source tells E! News that that's not the case anymore.
"At this point in time, Clare and Dale aren't getting back together," a source reportedly close to Clare said. "They want to be friends and do want to see each other but don't think they have a long-term future together. Clare is trying to move on but she is still in contact with Dale."
At the time of their Florida get-together, a source told E!, "She's been trying to move on but it's been very hard. She wanted to see him in person so she flew to Florida to be with him."
Few people saw the Sunshine State getaway coming. On Jan. 19, Dale formally announced on Instagram that he and the former Bachelorette had broken up.
"I wanted share with you all that Clare and I have decided to go our separate ways. We appreciate the love and support we've received from so many people, but this is the healthiest decision for both of us at this time," he wrote. "We strongly believe in leading with love and always remaining true to oneself – something our families have taught and instilled in us throughout our lives. We only hope the best things for one another."
After the split, Clare said she was in a "dark place" and took a jab at Dale's statement, insinuating that it was anything but mutual.
"I was made aware of a 'mutual' statement at the same time you all were, so I've needed some time to really digest this," she wrote on Instagram. "Speaking for myself, my intentions with this relationship have always been very clear, so the truth is I am crushed. This was not what I expected or hoped for and am still trying to process this."
The duo met over the summer while filming "The Bachelorette" in a bubble environment. The moment Clare met Dale, she mentioned that he was "husband" material. She then continued to fall hard for Dale, essentially snubbing the other guys vying for her heart in order to focus entirely on him. After just three weeks of filming, Clare left the show with Dale by her side.
