Chrishell Stause found out that her marriage to Justin Hartley's was over after he sent her a text message, she claims.
In fact, the split was so callous, she says, the ink on her ex's divorce papers wasn't even dry when media outlets began reporting the news.
Chrishell Stause details the end of her marriage with the "This Is Us" actor while speaking to her "Selling Sunset" co-star Mary Fitzgerald in a new clip from the third season of the reality show.
"I found out because he texted me that we were filed [for divorce]," she says while tearing up, confirming earlier reports that she was "blindsided" by the sudden divorce.
Justin filed for divorce from Chrishell last November seemingly out of the blue, as there appeared to be no sign of trouble in their two-year marriage. The duo had attended several events together in the months leading up to the divorce filing, including one on Nov. 14, merely eight days before he filed paperwork in court. Chrishell was even wearing her ring in a post on her Instagram Story the day before Justin went to the Los Angeles courthouse to legally end their marriage.
In the clip, Chrishell says she thought Justin — whom she was with for six years — was joking when he sent the text. She adds that just "45 minutes" after the paperwork was filed "the world knew."
Acknowledging that the split was "crazy" Chrishell, 39, says she still has questions about what happened with their split. However, she and Justin no longer speak.
"I talked to him like right after [the filing] because I thought that must be a joke, but that was kind of the end of the communication. What do you say after that?" she says, adding that she recalled thinking, "Now I have to find a place to live. Now I have to scramble to figure this out."
Still confused, Chrishell says that if Justin really wanted a divorce "there are better ways to go about it."
Justin has since moved on with actress Sofia Pernas, who was once reportedly "close friends" with Chrishell.
