Chrishell Stause, homeowner. That has a nice ring to it!
The "Selling Sunset" star revealed this week that she sold her old wedding ring, given to her by ex-husband Justin Hartley, and used the funds to buy a $3.3 million home in California's Hollywood Hills.
"When sometimes life gives you lemons, sometimes you've gotta add a little vodka," Chrishell told Kelly Clarkson on the singer's eponymous TV show. "I was trying to, you know, make the best out of a situation."
Chrishell was married to the "This Is Us" star from from 2017 to 2021. She claimed the split was callous, allegeding the ink on Justin's divorce papers wasn't even dry when media outlets began reporting the news.
"I found out because he texted me that we were filed [for divorce]," she said on a 2020 episode of "Selling Sunset," confirming earlier reports that she was "blindsided" by the sudden divorce.
While chatting with Kelly about the decision to sell off the ring, the "Since You've Been Gone" singer approved.
"I mean, what are you supposed to do, keep wearing it? I think that's amazing," Kelly said. "You did something good with the money."
Soon after their Justin and Chrishell's divorce was final, the former soap actor secretly married Sofia Pernas. Chrishell, for her part, was has been briefly linked to fellow "Dancing With the Stars" alum Keo Motsepe and her "Selling Sunset" boss Jason Oppenheim. She's now single.
In addition to her wedding band banter, Chrishell also spoke about her new book, "Under Construction: Because Living My Best Life Took a Little Work." Much of the memoir is devoted to her past relationships.
"I do think that this was just a cathartic situation because so much is said out there, on social media and in the news, and sometimes there's not a lot of context," she explained. "I am healed; there's no anger there. So it's nice to kind of give context and tell a story that I know a lot of people have related to."
