Braunwyn Windham-Burke is blasting Kelly Dodd after the latter claimed that the former was once placed on a 5150 psychiatric hold.
In a recent series of tweets, Kelly took aim at her "The Real Housewives of Orange County" co-star. In one particular tweet that has since been deleted, Kelly wrote of Braunwyn, "I am not going to be blamed for her mental disorders, alcoholism, cheating, violence, & her children being depressed. She's been in a 5150 hold."
Upon seeing that tweet, Braunwyn took to her Instagram Story to hit back.
"Good morning. So once again, I'm waking up, reading some stuff and honestly, there's certain people I work with that I'm shocked how much they get away with. How many lies they're allowed to tell — how it seems like nothing really happens," she said, according to Page Six. "I just want to clear something up. I've never been on a 5150 hold. That's a lie. Not that there's anything wrong with that."
She added, "You know, when I needed help 10 years ago, I checked myself in. So that's a different situation. But, 5150 holds are good for people who need them. There's no shame in that. There's no shame in mental health issues."
People can be put on a 5150 hold if authorities believe they're a danger to themselves or others. They usually last 72 hours.
As "Housewives" devotees know, Kelly and Braunwyn have rarely seen eye to eye. In fact, Kelly has accused Braunwyn, who recently came out as gay, of using alcoholism for a "storyline." (The mother of seven revealed her struggle with alcohol on the premiere episode of the current season of "RHOC.")
"If I was going to do something just for 'storyline' I would of picked something easier, being sober in this toxic environment ain't easy….to have someone diminish the struggle is low," Braunwyn tweeted last week. "I've been blessed to have support and have been working a program, if you need help it works."
