Billie Eilish has accused an obsessed fan of showing up at her house multiple times last week, and she now has a restraining order against him.
Citing legal documents, TMZ reported on Monday that the 24-year-old man first showed up at the singer's home last week. After ringing the doorbell, the man asked through the Ring doorbell if Billie lived there. Billie's father replied through the intercom that the man had the wrong house.
The same man allegedly returned later that evening.
"While we waited for security, [the fan] remained on our porch, sat down and began to read a book, while also continuing to engage in a periodic monologue. My father repeatedly asked him to leave, but he refused," Billie said in court documents.
After security eventually got the man away from the home, he again returned, this time laying down behind a wall. TMZ said he was preparing to the spend the night there.
The man then came back the following day and used the door handle to try and gain entry.
"He returned again and again and was not deterred by anyone," TMZ said.
One of the many things that really irked Billie and her family is that the man seems unconcerned with the current COVID-19 pandemic, which advises people to wear masks and avoid touching things. The "Bad Guy" singer said the man approached her property seven times — five times without a mask. He also was not wearing gloves when he touched the doorbell and doorknob multiple times, she says.
TMZ notes that the man was actually arrested twice last week but was quickly released both times. Cops allegedly told Billie there's nothing they can do, as trespassing is a non-violent offense and jails are trying to limit their non-violent offenders due to the spread of COVID-19.
Although the fan was put on a bus back to New York, where he lives, Billie fears she hasn't seen the last of him.
The temporary restraining order, which was signed on Monday, keeps the fan 200 years from Billie, her parents and their property. He is prohibited from trying to contact them in any way, including on social media.
