Chrissy Teigen tells "rich" friends to stop asking for PR boxes — with a side of shade for Alison Roman
Chrissy Teigen took to her Instagram Story on May 18 to shut down wealthy friends asking for PR boxes from her Cravings line, which were sent to social media influencers by her marketing team earlier this month to drum up publicity for her new products. "Please don't ask for a box. My marketing budget is not infinite but my love for you is. Also I see some of u asking and you're literally rich," she wrote, adding in a video that the packages were "very curated" and a "labor of love." (The boxes — which were sent to bold-faced names like the Kardashians, Shay Mitchell, Whitney Cummings and Ali Wong — included new merchandise from Chrissy's Cravings cookware line for Target, a copy of her "Cravings: Hungry for More" cookbook, a bottle of wine from husband John Legend's LVE label and a trio of small herb plants.) Chrissy went on to say that her note was meant for pals who were writing to tell her that their boxes hadn't "gotten here yet." Snapped the multi-hyphenate, "That's cause I didn't send it to you." She added that although "it looks like everything is just easy," it took "a ton of work" to put together the packages. "Maybe that [misperception] comes from someone putting it in your head that we're just a content farm of endless money and just got so big so fast, but I promise we didn't — as great as it looks," she quipped, referencing her recent drama with Alison Roman. The New York Times food columnist made headlines earlier this month when she complained of Chrissy in an interview, "She had a successful cookbook. And then it was like: Boom, line at Target. Boom, now she has an Instagram page that has over a million followers where it's just, like, people running a content farm for her."
Former WWE star Shad Gaspard found dead after going missing while swimming
Former WWE wrestler Shad Gaspard was found dead on a beach in the Los Angeles area on May 20 after he went missing three days earlier while swimming in the ocean with his son, Aryeh. The pair were caught in a riptide, and while lifeguards were able to rescue the 10 year old, the wrestler-actor was pulled under a wave and did not resurface, sparking a two-day search. According to NBC News, the lifeguard who saved Aryeh attempted to rescue both Shad and his son, but "in his last few words," the lifeguard said, the WWE alum told him to "Save my son" and pushed the boy to the lifeguard before he was pulled under.

Fans concerned for Ryan Seacrest's health after "Idol" finale
Ryan Seacrest made headlines when he started exhibiting stroke-like symptoms toward the end of the finale of season 18 of "American Idol" on May 17. (Fans speculated that he'd suffered a stroke when he began slurring his words while one of his eyes appeared to droop as the other bulged.) Adding to the concern, he uncharacteristically skipped the following morning's edition of "Live With Kelly and Ryan." The TV star's rep later maintained that he "did not have any kind of stroke" and attributed Ryan's unusual behavior to the difficulties of "adjusting to the new normal and finding work-home balance, with the added stress of having to put on live shows from home." Said the rep in a statement to People magazine, "He has been juggling three-four on-air jobs over the last few weeks and he's in need of rest. So today he took a well-deserved day off." When Ryan returned to "Live" on May 19, he said he "was doing well" and thanked everyone for "all the very kind well-wishes for my exhaustion [from] working around the clock."
Brian Austin Green confirms split from Megan Fox after nearly 10 years of marriage
On the May 18 episode of his eponymous podcast, Brian Austin Green confirmed that he and Megan Fox quietly separated late last year after nearly a decade of marriage and 15 years of coupledom. During the extremely emotional 30-minute podcast, the "Beverly Hills, 90210" alum insisted that "nobody did anything wrong" and that his wife's burgeoning romance with Machine Gun Kelly wasn't a factor in their decision to separate. On the contrary, they simply drifted apart when the "Transformers" star left the country to shoot a movie for about five and a half weeks in late 2019. Brian went on to say that both he and Megan are committed to focusing on their three kids and moving forward as a family unit even though they've "gone in separate ways for now." He also didn't rule out a reconciliation, noting that they've been best friends for 15 years and still love each other. As for MGK, the erstwhile David Silver said that as far as he knew at the time, Megan and the rapper-actor were just "friends." That same day, however, multiple media outlets reported that the duo got close while shooting the upcoming thriller "Midnight in the Switchgrass," and although they initially started off as friends, things between them eventually turned romantic. They put that alleged romance on full display when they nearly kissed in the music video for MGK's new song "Bloody Valentine," which dropped on May 20.
