After several mental health setbacks this year, Amanda Bynes's progress is slowly coming along. And, for the good of her health, there's a real chance she'll be packing her bags and leaving Los Angeles, too. A source tells Entertainment Tonight that Amanda is "thinking about her future and considering moving away from LA and getting away from the spotlight. She feels like it is long overdue."

Back in March, Amanda Bynes was placed on a psychiatric hold after being found naked and alone while roaming the streets in downtown Los Angeles. TMZ reported that Amanda was not wearing clothes when she waved down a car in the early morning hours of March 19, and informed the driver that she was coming off of a psychotic episode. She then called police herself.
After being taken to a nearby police station, the former "Easy A" actress was placed on a psychiatric hold in a hospital. She was held for nearly two weeks.
In June, she was again place on a psychiatric hold.

After the June incident, Amanda Bynes's inner circle said she was very "inconsistent" when it came to taking her medication.
"Amanda was doing better recently and trying her best to take care of herself. She has been making an effort to go to AA meetings, trying to hang out with sober people, and she looked good. The only problem is she is inconsistent about taking her medication, which causes issues," an insider told ET.
The source added, Amanda's family wants her "to get home safe and get settled. She is a great girl who means well and wants to get better."

"Amanda is doing her best to take care of herself through different treatments. She has been trying to maintain her privacy and spending time with people she likes and trusts," a source told ET on Sept. 22, 2023.
Having essentially retired from acting in 2010, Amanda has focused on fashion and cosmetology.
"She is also considering taking on a new work project and looking forward to moving forward with exciting offers that have come her way," ET's source adds.

Over the summer, Amanda Bynes was living in a California mental health treatment center. In early July, the former Nickelodeon child star checked herself into an intensive inpatient facility in Orange County, California, just a week after she checked out of a Los Angeles treatment center. According to TMZ, Amanda felt that she needed inpatient help and wasn't ready to live by herself in her Los Angeles apartment. The troubled former actress reportedly liked being around a medical team, therapists and other patients.

Back in 2014, Amanda Bynes was placed in a conservatorship, helmed by her mother, following a string of troubling behavior. Over time, she cleaned up her life, and a judge terminated her conservatorship on March 22, 2022. Following the 2023 incidents, there was chatter of a second conservatorship. Ultimately, that did not happen.
