The Princess of Wales is trying something new.
Princess Kate, who's patron of The Forward Trust, visited HMP High Down — a prison — in Sutton, England, on Sept. 12, 2023, to learn about how the charity supports those in the criminal justice system as they manage and recover from addictions.
In addition to learning more about some of the specific addiction programs used at the prison — which houses 1,100 inmates — she was also walked through what a family goes through when they visit an incarcerated loved one.
People magazine reported that the royal also spent time in The Clink — a restaurant that trains prisoners in hospitality jobs.
Amid all her work, however, another aspect of her visit made headlines: Her new look.
Kate debuted a new 'do — her hair was styled with long center-parted bangs and big curls — that appeared to borrow from glam '70s styles worn by the stars of "Charlie's Angels" and more.
