Ready to feel old?
Nov. 2, 2023, marks the 20th anniversary of the premiere episode of "Arrested Development." The sitcom — which centers around the once-wealthy Bluth family and is known for being one of the all-time smartest shows about dumb people — originally debuted on FOX back in November 2003 and ran for three successful seasons before taking a very unconventional route back to the small screen due to fan fervor: It was picked up for a fourth season by Netflix in 2013 — a decade after its debut. Then a much anticipated season 5 was split into two parts that were released in 2018 and 2019.
So where is the cast of this cult classic today? Wonderwall.com is checking in with the gang including Alia Shawkat, Michael Cera, Portia de Rossi, Tony Hale and Will Arnett.

Jason Bateman a Golden Globe for his performance as Michael Bluth on "Arrested Development." Over the next two decades, he most notably starred on another Netflix series, "Ozark," beginning in 2017. The show ran for four seasons. Jason picked up accolades including a Screen Actors Guild Award for his performance in front of the camera on the show as well as an Emmy for directing the drama series.
Aside from "Ozark," Jason has also kept busy on the big screen, appearing in comedies like "Game Night" in 2018 and the drama "Air" in 2023. He also teamed up with "Arrested Development" co-star Will Arnett and fellow comedy star Sean Hayes to host the "SmartLess" podcast, which launched in 2020.
He's been married to actress Amanda Anka since 2001. They share two daughters.

A young Michael Cera portrayed George Michael Bluth — the son of Jason Bateman's Michael — who famously developed a crush on his cousin.

Michael Cera has been busy in Hollywood ever since leaving the role of George Michael. In between the third and fourth seasons of "Arrested Development," he made a name for himself as Evan in 2007's "Superbad" then nabbed the title role in 2010's "Scott Pilgrim vs. the World." He also lent his voice to "The Lego Batman Movie" and more recently played Allan in the "Barbie" movie.
Michael hasn't just been busy on the big screen — he earned a Tony Award for his work on Broadway, scoring a best featured actor in a play nod for his performance in 2018's "Lobby Hero." He's also a musician who's toured as the bassist for the rock band Mister Heavenly.
He's also now a family man. Though he keeps his private life under wraps, he revealed in 2022 that not only was he married but that he and his wife had welcomed a son in 2021.

George Bluth Sr. was played by Jeffrey Tambor. The incarcerated family patriarch got his family in financial trouble following his corrupt dealings in real estate.

In between runs of "Arrested Development," Jeffrey Tambor found himself on another critically acclaimed television series, Amazon Prime's "Transparent." He played transgender woman Maura Pfefferman on the series from 2014 until 2017 and won two Emmy Awards and a Golden Globe in the process. He did not return for the series' fifth season after two women accused him of sexual misconduct, which he denied.
Jeffrey also did a lot of voice acting work in films like "The Spongebob SquarePants Movie" in 2004, "Tangled" in 2010 and "Trolls" in 2016 plus popular children's TV shows over the years ranging from "Bubble Guppies" to "Sofia the First" to "Tangled: The Series."
The married actor is a father of five: He shares three sons and a daughter with wife Kasia and has an older daughter from a previous relationship.

Jessica Walter brought the endlessly entertaining Lucille Bluth to life on "Arrested Development." Lucille is the family matriarch with a penchant for drinking, criticizing and manipulating everyone — including her family.
_
Jessica Walter voiced Malory Archer on FX's "Archer" for more than a decade — until her death at 80 in 2021.
Prior to that, she worked on a handful of projects following the end of "Arrested Development" including appearances on television series like "Good Girls" and "American Housewife," which would ultimately be her last acting job.
Jessica was a widow when she passed away. She's survived by her only child, network exec Brooke Bowman, her daughter from her first marriage.

Tony Hale's character, Byron "Buster" Bluth, was a mama's boy. Lucille and George Sr.'s youngest son famously lacked common sense.
_
Like many of his co-stars, Tony Hale continued to find television fame in between "Arrested Development" installments. His performance as Gary Walsh on "Veep," on which he starred from 2012 until 2019, earned him two Emmy Awards. More recently, he appeared in a few children's films including "Clifford the Big Red Dog" in 2021 and "Hocus Pocus 2" in 2022. He's also lent his voice to other movies like "The Angry Birds Movie" franchise and "Toy Story 4" (he's Forky!).
Off screen, Tony has been married to makeup artist Martel Thompson, with whom he shares a daughter, since 2003.

Portia de Rossi played Lindsay Bluth, Michael's twin sister. Lindsay was addicted to her family's wealth and the materialistic lifestyle that came with it.
_
Portia de Rossi was already a big name in television thanks to her work on "Ally McBeal" prior to joining the "Arrested Development" cast. She followed that up with a few more popular series. Between the third and fourth seasons of the FOX-turned-Netflix hit, Portia appeared on FX's "Nip/Tuck" and ABC's "Scandal." More recently, she appeared on an episode of "The Kardashians" but hasn't appeared in an acting capacity since the fifth season of "Arrested Development." In recent years, she founded the consumer-art company General Public.
Portia has been married to comedy star Ellen DeGeneres since 2008.

David Cross brought Lindsay Bluth's husband, Tobias Funke, to life on "Arrested Development." The mental health professional — who considered himself a hybrid of an analyst and therapist, or — in his words, an "analrapist" — really dreamed of being an actor and member of the Blue Man Group.
_
Like many of his co-stars on "Arrested Development," David Cross continued to work steadily both in between the show's hiatus and after. Aside from continuing his successful stand-up career, David lent his voice to many a film and TV show including "Curious George" in 2006, the "Kung Fu Panda" franchise, which started in 2008, "Meganmind" in 2010 and TV shows like the 2019 adult animated series "Big Mouth." He's also lent his voice to video games and scripted podcasts over the years.
He's been married to actress Amber Tamblyn, with whom he has a daughter, since 2012.
_
Alia Shawkat played Maeby — the daughter of Lindsay and Tobias — who spent most of her time rebelling against her parents.
_
Alia Shawkat followed up her time on "Arrested Development" with more buzzy television shows. She guest starred on "Broad City" in 2015 and starred on TBS's "Search Party" from 2016 until 2022. She joined co-star Jeffrey Tambor on Amazon Prime's "Transparent" from 2017 until 2019 and lent her voice to the adult animated series "Big Mouth" from 2017 until 2020.
The bisexual actress keeps her personal life private, but it emerged in 2023 that she'd welcomed her first child with Phil Burgers — the writer, actor, comedian and clown teacher known for his Dr. Brown character — to whom she's been linked since at least 2021.
_
Will Arnett brought George Oscar Bluth II — better known as Gob — to life on "Arrested Development." The eldest Bluth child was a professional magician who never found much success.
_
Will Arnett is one of the busiest "Arrested Development" alums. He starred on "30 Rock" from 2007 until 2013 and, like many of his co-stars, has lent his voice to many projects, including "Ice Age: The Meltdown" in 2006, "Despicable Me" in 2010 and the "Lego Movie" franchise (he's Batman). More recently, he began hosting "Lego Masters" in 2020 and Netflix's "Murderville" in 2022. He also lent his voice to Peacock's "Twisted Metal" in 2023. He also teamed up with "Arrested Development" co-star Jason Bateman and fellow comedy star Sean Hayes to host the wildly popular "SmartLess" podcast, which launched in 2020.
In 2012, Will split from wife Amy Poehler, with whom he shares two boys. He's been in a relationship with Alessandra Brawn, with whom he welcomed a son in 2020, since 2019.
