"If you're a bird, I'm a bird," Noah told Allie. The most memorable scene might have been when they were in the pouring rain, and Noah kissed Allie so passionately that we all questioned if we've ever had that kind of a love. In that scene he told her, "It wasn't over. It still isn't over." Then they rekindled their love years after it all began. We also felt their intense love because Ryan and Rachel had some real chemistry. They started dating after making the film, though split a few years later in 2007. Although they weren't soulmates in real life, we'll forever have this movie!

Just because 2004's "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" is a love story doesn't mean it's going to have a happy ending. While Clementine has completely expunged Joel from her memory, part way through the process, Joel realizes that there are some memories he'd rather hold onto and tries to save them from being wiped out completely. As if! Who could forget this 1995 coming-of-age romantic comedy? Upon befriending new student Tai (Brittany Murphy), Cher takes it upon herself to make Tai one of the most popular girls in school, in addition to setting up two of her lonely teachers. When her former stepbrother, Josh (Paul Rudd), starts spending more time at Cher's home, the two begin to realize that they may have feelings for one another. In addition to earning praise for its beautiful direction, the film was commended for its raw, realistic portrayal of racism and the ways in which the justice system continues to fail Black communities and tear families apart.

There's so much to love about this 1999 film on top of the fact that Britney Spears' "(You) Drive Me Crazy" is featured in it. Led by Melissa Joan Hart and Adrian Grenier, "Drive Me Crazy" tells the story of two high school students from completely different social circles (who also happen to be next-door neighbors) who come together for a similar purpose. Desperate to win the affections of other people, Nicole and Chase devise a plan to date one another so they can make the people they actually like jealous. Of course, it's only a matter of time until they actually start developing feelings for each other!

"A Cinderella Story" on HBO Max & Amazon Prime Video

Who doesn't love a modern retelling of a classic fairytale romance? 2004's "A Cinderella Story" stars Hilary Duff as Sam Montgomery — a shy, social outcast who's unknowingly been communicating with the most popular guy in school: Austin Ames (Chad Michael Murray). After chatting endlessly via AOL messenger, the pair agree to meet in person at the Halloween Ball, where Sam finds out Austin's real identity while still concealing her own. However, just as she begins to muster the courage to tell him who she actually is, her evil stepsisters cook up a plan to publicly humiliate her.

"When Harry Met Sally" had us in tears when Harry professed his love to Sally. He said, "When you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible." Harry, played by Billy Crystal, and Sally, played by Meg Ryan, were good friends for a while. They tried to figure out if men and women could just be friends without sex getting in the way, but ultimately, they fell madly in love.

Showcasing the beginning stages of a burgeoning relationship followed by its eventual demise, "Call Me by Your Name" paints a beautiful, raw picture of love.

"To All the Boys I've Loved Before" on Netflix

While it only came out in 2018, "To All the Boys I've Loved Before" has certainly established itself as a favorite love story among the masses. Starring Lana Condor and Noah Centineo, this rom-com tells a lighthearted love story that we could watch over and over again! When Lara Jean Covey's love letters mysteriously get sent out to her childhood crushes — including her sister's ex-boyfriend, Josh — she enters panic mode and tries to cover her tracks. Her solution? Getting into a fake relationship with one of her old crushes, Peter Kavinsky. But as this "couple" spends more time together to keep up the facade, it isn't long before they actually begin to fall for each other. Throw in the added complications of Lara Jean's sister finding out, Peter's ex-girlfriend getting jealous and a seemingly scandalous hot tub video getting leaked and you've got a recipe for some serious drama. This love story is a refreshing and heartwarming depiction of teenage love in the 21st century, and we adore it! Even better? There are two sequels also available to stream on Netflix.

Mark Ruffalo and Jennifer Garner in a movie together? Swoon. These beloved actors joined forces for "13 Going on 30" in 2004, and we are forever grateful. When awkward teenager Jenna transforms into a successful, magazine-writing journalist in New York City overnight, she is unexpectedly thrust into adulthood. However, what initially starts off as a dream come true proves to have its fair share of pitfalls, as Jenna not only struggles to adjust to the competitive world of fashion journalism but also finds herself working closely with her junior high frenemy, Lucy. The biggest shock for her though? That she realizes she's in love with a guy that's been there for her all along — her junior high best friend, Matt! What Jenna takes away from this flash-forward experience is a new lease on life as a pre-teen girl and a new appreciation for her best friend and eventual husband.

Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant gave us all the feels in "Notting Hill." Julia played movie star Anna Scott, who fell in love with Hugh's character, William Thacker, a simple Englishman intimidated by her fame. But she loved him, even though he wasn't famous. Julia delivered one of the most classic romantic movie lines ever in this film: "I'm also just a girl, standing in front of a boy, asking him to love her." And we're just sitting here crying asking him to love her back. Thankfully, he does!

The sound of that AOL voice saying "You've Got Mail" has never sounded so good! Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks inspired us all to try out online dating way before it became a common way to meet a love interest. Meg played Kathleen Kelly, a bookstore owner who fell in love with a man by the name of Joe Fox, played by Tom, in a chatroom. It turned out that Joe was the heir to a rival bookstore chain, Fox Books. Luckily for them, true love conquered all business issues!

"Set It Up" on Netflix

The best way to get your uptight boss off your back? Set them up with an equally uptight boss in hopes that love will conquer all! "Set It Up" stars Zoey Deutch as Harper Moore and Glen Powell as Charlie Young, two assistants who attempt to hook up their demanding, temperamental and often ungrateful bosses in an attempt to make their own lives less miserable. Of course, the real love story is the one that's burgeoning between Harper and Charlie: As the film progresses, we begin to see sparks fly between these two 20-somethings.

From the very start of this film, we're reminded of the fact that it is not a love story. In "(500) Days of Summer," Joseph Gordon Levitt stars as Tom Hansen, an unfulfilled architect whose 9-to-5 job entails writing greeting cards. After meeting his boss's new assistant, Summer Finn (Zooey Deschanel), Tom falls head over heels for her. The film chronicles the trials and tribulations of their relationship gives audiences a heartbreaking look into how things can be great in one moment and completely destroyed in the next.

What's one of the worst things that could possibly happen to a newlywed couple? A life-altering accident. When 16-year-old Juno MacGuff realizes she's pregnant with fellow high schooler Paulie Bleeker's baby, she makes the decision to give her child up for adoption. Beneath the (at times) heated agreements and awkward banter is a love so pure and so genuine between these two. They're high school sweethearts who've had to grow up quicker than most, and the way they handle their circumstance is nothing short of heartfelt.

One of the best parts about "The Proposal" was undoubtedly the hilarious and adorable Betty White. But Betty aside, we have to say that this film has an incredible and unbelievable love story in it too. Sandra Bullock played the boss from hell (and from Canada), Margaret Tate. In order to stay in the United States after her visa expires, she asks her assistant, Andrew Paxton — charmingly played by Ryan Reynolds — to pretend-marry her. The only problem is that he has to bring her home to Sitka, Alaska, where they have to continue the charade in front of his family. But they didn't really have to pretend at all, did they?! All it took was one kiss for these two to discover that they had very real feelings for each other and that their love wasn't actually a lie.

It's a movie that will make you believe in fate and realize that those who find love are truly lucky. In "Serendipity," Kate Beckinsale played Sara Thomas and John Cusack starred as Jonathan Trager. Sara and Jonathan have the best night ever — the only problem being that they both have significant others. Instead of exchanging names and numbers in a practical way, Jonathan writes his number on a $5 bill and Sara writes hers in a "Love in the Time of Cholera" book. They left it all up to destiny, and it magically all worked out.

When hardworking wedding planner Mary is rescued from a near-fatal accident involving a rolling dumpster by handsome pediatrician Steve, she begins to see the possibility of a blossoming relationship… only to realize that Steve is the fiancé of her big-time client! What ensues is a battle over whether or not she should give in to her feelings for the prospect of love or continue putting her career first. Starring Jennifer Lopez and Matthew McConaughey, "The Wedding Planner" is a total rom-com throwback, and it's one that'll promise to have you grinning from ear to ear.

In what is perhaps one of the best kissing scenes of all time, Josie finally gets smooched by Sam on a baseball field in front of everyone. Based on Jane Austen's novel of the same name, "Pride and Prejudice" tells one of the most classic love stories, well, ever. They had to overcome their prejudices about each other, but their love finally unfolded when they put their pride aside.

If this film doesn't pop into your head when you think "'90s rom-com," then we don't know what does! Starring Rachael Leigh Cook as art star Laney Boggs and Freddie Prinze Jr. as jock Zack Siler, "She's All That" tells the now-classic tale of a quirky, seemingly undateable girl who undergoes a major makeover and scores the hottest, most popular guy in school. While the premise might sound base, this film was among the first to tell the tale — so it definitely has a special place in our hearts. Also, we can't hear "Kiss Me" by Sixpence None The Richer without envisioning Laney debuting her new look as she makes her way down the stairs!

This particular film is one that we can't help but love — and it's not just because it stars Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper. Directed by David O. While Pat wants to show his wife that he's an improved man, Tiffany wants desperately to win a local ballroom dance competition — and it doesn't take long for these two to come together to help each other achieve their respective goals. What they realize, though, is that they're more compatible with each other than they thought possible. The film, while exceptionally acted, is a special one because of its portrayal of mental illness — it's a beautiful reminder of how important it is to accept who you are, and how having a mental illness isn't something that defines you.

Starring Amanda Bynes as Viola Hastings, "She's the Man" tells the story of a teenager who pretends to be her twin brother, Sebastian, in hopes of playing on the boys soccer team at his prep school after the girls team is disbanded. While the film is packed with a ton of fun moments, it's Viola's burgeoning romance with Duke Orsino (Channing Tatum) that stands out for us. Despite being friends (and roommates) when she's disguised as Sebastian, Viola begins to fall for Duke!

"The Princess Diaries" on Disney+

Disney's "The Princess Diaries" tells the story of a San Francisco teen (Anne Hathaway) who comes to learn that she's actually the heir to the throne of Genovia, a country in Europe. After receiving a visit from her estranged grandmother, Queen Clarisse Renaldi (Julie Andrews), Mia agrees to take princess classes in preparation to potentially take the throne. Meanwhile, as Mia pines over the popular, hunky kid in school, Josh Bryant (Erik von Detten), she initially fails to recognize that her best friend's brother, Michael Moscovitz (Robert Schwartzman), is really the guy for her. "The Princess Diaries" also has one of the most heartwarming rom-com lines ever. Note to self: When someone asks why you want to date them, respond with, "Because you saw me when I was invisible." Swoon! 

"Lost in Translation" on Hulu, Starz & Amazon Prime Video

While it's not necessarily a romantic love story, there's something to be said of Sofia Coppola's "Lost in Translation." The film stars Scarlett Johansson and Bill Murray as two lonely Americans who find themselves in Tokyo, meet by happenstance and begin to spend time with one another. This film, which earned Sofia a best original screenplay Oscar, showcases a different kind of love — their connection isn't romantic but it is rooted in companionship.

"Going the Distance" on HBO Max, YouTube & Apple TV

Justin Long and Drew Barrymore portrayed a relationship in "Going the Distance" that felt very real. Drew played Erin, who lived in San Francisco. Justin played Garrett, who lived in New York. The two had a chance encounter that turned into a brief relationship when Erin was interning in New York. However, she had to move back, and they continued to have a long-distance relationship. But the struggles of being so far apart took a toll. If you've ever been in a long-distance relationship, their love story was probably hard to watch. The ending, however, was everything that Erin and Garrett could have hoped for!

"Beauty and the Beast" on Disney+ & Amazon Prime Video

It's a "tale as old as time." And it's a story about how inner beauty matters more than what's on the outside when it comes to love. Beauty Belle falls in love with a beast. And even though he turns out to be a handsome prince, she loved him before she knew his true identity! This Disney animated film is one of the most classic love stories ever, so it's no wonder it was remade into a live-action film starring Emma Watson in 2017.

"The Last Song" on Disney+ & Amazon Prime Video

Sparks flew between Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth when they starred in "The Last Song" on screen and off. Miley played Ronnie Miller, a girl who rediscovers her love for music when she falls in love with Liam's character, Will Blakelee. We're singing about love with you, Miley! In real life, Miley and Liam became a couple in 2009 after meeting on the set of "The Last Song" and spent the next decade in an on-and-off relationship that ended for good when their divorce was finalized in 2020.
