Jim Carrey starred as the Grinch, a grumpy, reclusive creature who hates Christmas and the Whos of Whoville, in 2000's "How the Grinch Stole Christmas."
It's been nearly two decades since "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" hit theaters, and Jim Carrey is still as successful today as he was back then. The actor has starred in some of Hollywood's biggest movies, such as "Me, Myself & Irene," "Bruce Almighty," "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind," "Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events," "Yes Man," "Horton Hears a Who!" and "Dumb and Dumber To." In 2018, Jim took on a starring role as Jeff Piccirillo on the Showtime dramedy series "Kidding." As for his post-Grinch personal life, Jim dated Jenny McCarthy from 2005 to 2010 and from 2012 to 2015 was in an on-off relationship with Irish makeup artist Cathriona White, who killed herself with an intentional drug overdose not long after their final breakup. Circumstances surrounding her tragic death led her family and estranged husband to subject Jim to a wrongful death lawsuit that was dismissed in 2018. The comedy star, who's also made headlines in recent years with his politically charged artwork, became a grandfather in 2010 when his only child, daughter Jane, welcomed a son with her husband, whom she's since divorced.
