There are a lot of things to look forward to in 2019 — and many of them require a trip to the movies! Wonderwall.com is rounding up 19 films you can't miss in the New Year, starting with "Miss Bala." All the kiddos (and kids at heart!) will be happy to know that "The LEGO Movie" is back with a sequel that hits the big screen on Feb. 8. "The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part" brings all your favorite characters from the first installment back as they unite to fight LEGO DUPLO invaders from space, and it's jam-packed with celebrity voices. Chris Pratt and Elizabeth Banks return, with newcomer Tiffany Haddish joining the slew of superstars behind the LEGO characters.

Ready for another round of dragon training? The third installment, "How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World," is set for a Feb. 22 release, and we can't wait to reunite with Hiccup and Toothless! Cate Blanchett, America Ferrera, Jonah Hill, Kit Harington and Kristen Wiig are just a handful of the stars lending their voices to this one.
Blake Lively is set to return to the big screen opposite Jude Law in "The Rhythm Section." The dark thriller serves as an excellent followup to Blake's equally dark "A Simple Favor" from 2018, only this one has Blake's character seeking revenge against the people responsible for her family's death in a plane crash. It's set for a Feb. 22 release.
Another Madea movie?! We can never get enough of Tyler Perry's hilariously iconic character, and on March 1, we'll get to see the latest installment in this silly series — "Tyler Perry's A Madea Family Reunion." Tyler is back as the family matriarch, and though the title sounds somber, we're sure he'll still deliver the laughs.
We can't wait to see Brie Larson's Carol Danvers dominate in "Captain Marvel." The superhero flick hits theaters on March 8 and promises a fight between Earth and alien races, with Samuel L. Jackson and Jude Law also starring in the action-packed movie.
Get your tissues out! The Tim Burton-directed live-action remake "Dumbo" arrives in theaters on March 29, and we're destined to cry our eyes out while watching this heartwarming tale about a circus elephant who learns to fly. This adaptation stars Danny DeVito, Nico Parker (the daughter of actress Thandie Newton), Colin Farrell, Michael Keaton and more.
"Hellboy" is a reboot of the Guillermo del Toro film series released in the '00s. David Harbour replaces Ron Perlman in this take on the Dark Horse Comics character, and Milla Jovovich also stars. Check the hero out as he attempts to stop an ancient medieval sorceress trying to destroy mankind when he hits the big screen on April 12.
"Avengers: Endgame" is another highly anticipated Marvel flick slated for release in 2019. The trailer, which dropped in December 2018, shows Tony Stark/Iron Man (played by Robert Downey Jr.) adrift in space, which means it will be up to the rest of the superhero gang to save him — and humankind. Besides RDJ, the film stars all the usual suspects including Scarlett Johansson, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner, Paul Rudd and more. It's out on April 26.
The "Pokemon: Detective Pikachu" trailer set the Internet on fire in 2018 as everyone scrambled to figure out whether or not this was actually a real Hollywood flick. Surprise — it is! The hilariously odd take on a crime drama really is headed to the big screen — it's the first live-action flick based in the Pokemon universe. Ryan Reynolds voices Detective Pikachu in this May 10 release.
"Stranger Things" actress Millie Bobby Brown makes her feature-film debut in "Godzilla II: King of the Monsters," the sequel to 2014's "Godzilla" that hits theaters on May 31. The blockbuster action flick also stars Kyle Chandler, Vera Farmiga, Sally Hawkins, Thomas Middleditch, O'Shea Jackson Jr., Ken Watanabe and Zhang Ziyi, among others.
"Aladdin," Disney's new live-action take on the classic folk tale, will play out with real actors this time around, with Will Smith taking on the iconic role of Genie, Mena Massoud as the title character, Naomi Scott as Jasmine and more. We'll be soaring, tumbling and free-wheeling to theaters when the Guy Ritchie-directed flick debuts on May 24.
We watched Queen frontman Freddie Mercury's life play out on the big screen in 2018, and now it's time to look back at Elton John's early years. "Rocketman" takes on the superstar's life, with Taron Egerton playing the eccentric musician. The biopic hits theaters on July 3.
On July 19, Disney will deliver a photorealistic computer-generated animation remake of "The Lion King," which has an impressive roster of voice talent behind it. And we have one word for you: Beyonce. Besides Queen Bey (Nala), other notable talents including Donald Glover (Simba), James Earl Jones (Mufasa), Alfre Woodard (Sarabi), Chiwetel Ejiofor (Scar), Seth Rogen (Pumbaa), Billy Eichner (Timon) are taking on roles.
We heard about "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood" a lot in 2018, so we can't wait to finally see this Quentin Tarantino creation on July 26. Among the list of superstars attached to the project? Leonardo DiCaprio and Margot Robbie (who first starred together in 2014's "The Wolf of Wall Street") and Brad Pitt (seen here shooting a scene in October 2018), who all take on roles in this period film set against the backdrop of actress Sharon Tate's 1969 murder by the Manson Family.
Not again! Just when we thought we were done with creepy clowns, Pennywise rears his ugly head again. "IT: Chapter Two" is set for release on Sept. 6. It picks up when the kids in the Losers' Club are all grown up.
Is "Let It Go" finally out of your head? We're sure "Frozen 2" will serve up an equally infectious earworm when it debuts in November 2019. Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel and Josh Gad are all returning to reprise their roles in the Disney animated sequel.
We'll be heading to the jungle again with Dwayne Johnson for "Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle 2." The sequel to the hugely successful first installment of the remake is due to hit theaters in December. And though there's no word on any plot lines, it seems like all the main characters will be back for the next adventure.
