Selena Gomez claps back at body-shamers
Selena Gomez has a message for her body-shamers: Seeya. On Sunday, the singer, 29, shared a post on her TikTok Stories from what looked like her bed. Talking in an almost tongue-in-cheek monotone, she confesses, "So I be trying to stay skinny … but I went to Jack in the Box and I got four tacos, three egg rolls, onion rings and … a spicy. Chicken. Sandwich." After wincing a little, she adds that she's not here to focus on the opinions people may have about what she should or should not eat. "But honestly, I don't care about my weight because people b**** about it anyway," she says. "'You're too small,' 'you're too big,' 'that doesn't fit.' 'Meh meh meh meh ….'" She pauses, then claps back with the perfect response: "B****, I am perfect the way I am. Moral of the story? Bye." Selena's previously shared how the meds she takes for lupus often affect her weight, but are necessary, according to People. The singer and "Only Murders in the Building" star also struggles with kidney problems as a result of the lupus, and had a kidney transplant in 2017.

Johnny Depp faces off against Amber Heard in Virginia as defamation trial gets underway
On April 11, Johnny Depp and Amber Heard appeared at the Fairfax County Courthouse in Virginia to begin proceedings in Johnny's defamation suit against his ex-wife. According to the Daily Mail, the stars were led inside the building "secretly" as fans clustered outside, many of them carrying signs that read "justice for Johnny." The former "Pirates of the Caribbean" star, 58, is suing the actress, 35, over a 2018 op-ed she wrote for the Washington Post in which she discussed her experience with domestic abuse. She didn't name Johnny in the piece, but he claims the implication in the piece is that he abused her, which he maintains caused him to lose work and damaged his reputation. During jury selection, prospective jurors were asked how much they knew from press coverage of Johnny and Amber's relationship, whether they were fans of Johnny's films, and if Amber's past relationships with women would sway their opinions, the Mail reported. They were also asked about their response to the #MeToo movement. Legal expert George Freeman, who serves as the executive director of the Media Law Resource Center after many years as counsel for the New York Times, told Court TV Johnny's chance of winning could be slim. "I think that's a stretch … with all the evidence that exists, to ask a jury to believe that she made it up and she wasn't abused at all," he said, in part. He also noted Johnny's decision to sue his ex, but not the Washington Post could be problematic. "Generally speaking, in nine out of 10 cases, in a libel case you sue the media that publishes as well as the person who is making the accusation. Yet he never sued The Washington Post in this case, which leads to the conclusion that this is really, in the end, a marital fight that has now grown into the American court system," he explained. Johnny previously lost a libel suit against the publisher of The Sun, which referred to him as "a wife beater" in 2018.
Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott have not 'officially changed' their new baby's name
Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott have yet to settle on a name update for their son, the cosmetics guru confirmed in interviews published April 11. After the little guy's birth in February, his mom and dad initially announced the baby's name was Wolf. But a few weeks later, Kylie clarified on social media that Wolf didn't "fit" and they were calling him something else, the presumption being Kylie and Travis had picked a name, they just hadn't gone public with it yet. Not so much. "We just haven't fully legally changed it or anything, so I don't want to announce a new name and change it again," Kylie told "Extra" in a new interview this week. "So, yeah, we're just not ready to share a new name yet." She told Entertainment Tonight she "liked the name," which her sister Khloe Kardashian apparently suggested, "it just wasn't him." Kylie then confirmed she and Travis "have some strong options" for their son's name, "but we haven't officially changed it — before I officially changed it I want to make sure." By the time Kylie's update surfaced this week, social media users were already predicting the baby's name was up in the air. Over the weekend, fans noticed on an Instagram Stories post that Kylie and Travis' firstborn had her name, "Stormi," written on her gift bag at her cousin's birthday party. Her little brother had gotten a basket of goodies, too — but his said only, "Baby Webster," according to Page Six.

Kim Kardashian says Pete Davidson romance surprised them both
Ahead of this week's premiere of "The Kardashians" on Hulu, Kim Kardashian's sharing new details about her relationship with Pete Davidson in the wake of her split from husband Kanye West. "I think that, you know, sometimes things happen when you just least expect it. It was the last thing that I was really planning on," Kim, 41, said of the romance on the April 11 edition of Hoda Kotb's "Making Space" podcast. "And so when it did happen, we were kind of, like, 'Oh, my God, I wasn't planning on this. And this isn't even what I was thinking of,' and it just makes it that much sweeter and so much more fun." While fans have long assumed Kim hit it off with Pete, 28, when she hosted "Saturday Night Live" in October 2021. But a story Kim shares on the first "Kardashians" episode reportedly backs that timeline up a bit. According to Page Six, Kim says on the premiere that she "ran into Pete Davidson at the Met" Gala in September 2021 and told him she was "so scared" to host "SNL" the following month. "He's like, 'Can you read cue cards? You're good. You're good,'" Kim recalls on the show. Speaking to Hoda, the SKIMS creator also explained why she didn't rush into dating after she filed for divorce from Kanye in February 2021, saying she "wanted time" to consider things like whether she was "making the right decision" before moving forward: "So once I went through all of the motions, I finally was, like, 'OK, guys, I am so ready to meet someone.' And I randomly did." Kim and Pete reportedly shared their first kiss during a skit on the "SNL" she hosted; they were linked as a couple by the end of that month, although Kim told Hoda she's "holding … a little bit more close to my heart on certain aspects of my relationship with Pete." Kim added, "… It feels good just to know that, like, we have this connection and we have our little bubble of a relationship world that we live in that, like, not a lot of people know about." Sam Elliott apologizes for 'Power of the Dog' comments
More than a month after Sam Elliott criticized director Jane Campion and her film, "Power of the Dog," on Marc Maron's "WTF" podcast, the "1883" star has apologized for his comments. During an appearance on Deadline's Contenders TV event on April 10, Sam addressed his previous comments — which Jane has called a "trifecta of misogyny and xenophobia and homophobia" — by saying he hadn't properly stated what he wanted to say. Jane's film "struck a chord," Sam told the host and audience, and he had hoped to discuss his response to it on Marc's show. "I wasn't very articulate about it. I didn't articulate it very well," he continued. "And I said some things that hurt people and I feel terrible about that. The gay community has been incredible to me my entire career. And I mean my entire career, from before I got started in this town. Friends on every level and every job description up until today. I'm sorry I hurt any of those friends and someone that I loved. And anyone else by the words that I used." He went on to say he told Marc he "thought Jane Campion was a brilliant director, and I want to apologize to the cast of 'The Power of the Dog,' brilliant actors all … and in particular Benedict Cumberbatch." Sam concluded, "I can only say that I'm sorry and I am." On the March 1 podcast, Sam called "The Power of the Dog" a "piece of s***" Western, likened the movie's cowboys to scantily clad Chippendales dancers and griped about the film's "allusions of homosexuality." Referencing Jane, who won this year's best director Oscar for "Power of the Dog" and hails from New Zealand, he then asked: "What the f*** does this woman from down there know about the American West?" After the podcast was released, Jane dismissed Sam's critique, telling Deadline, among other things, his discriminatory language was "unfortunate and sad."
Sean Penn says he's 'so in love with' estranged wife Leila George
Looking back, Sean Penn admits he was "neglectful" as a partner in his relationship with Leila George. The pair tied the knot in 2020 after five years together; Leila, 30, filed for divorce in 2021. They remain estranged in 2022, but according to Sean's recent interview with the magazine, Hollywood Authentic, he still loves her and considers her his "best friend." He's also made changes to how he navigates his personal life after his obsession with current events took a toll on his relationships. "There's a woman who I'm so in love with, Leila George, who I only see on a day-to-day basis now, because I f***** up the marriage. We were married technically for one year, but for five years, I was a very neglectful guy," Sean said. "I was not a f****** cheat or any of that obvious s***, but I allowed myself to think that my place in so many other things was so important, and that included my place in being totally depressed and driven to alcohol and Ambien at 11 o'clock in the morning, by watching the news, by watching the Trump era, by watching it and just despairing," he continued. "And as it turns out — this is going to shock you — beautiful, incredibly kind, imaginative, talented young women who get married to a man quite senior to them in years, they don't actually love it when they get up from their peaceful night's sleep and their new husband is on the couch, having been up since 4, watching all of the crap that's going on in the world and has decided that 10:30 in the morning is a good time to neck a double vodka tonic and an Ambien …'" The actor and filmmaker, who's currently working on a documentary about Russia's invasion of Ukraine, added that he ultimately doesn't "know what's going to happen with" the two as a couple. "I know that this is my best friend in the world and definitely the most influential, inspiring person, outside of my own blood, that anybody could ask to have in their life," he said.
Tish Cyrus files for divorce from Billy Ray Cyrus after 28 years of marriage
Miley Cyrus' parents are calling time on their marriage of nearly three decades. Tish Cyrus filed for divorce from country singer Billy Ray Cyrus in early April, according to TMZ. The filing reportedly states the pair have lived separately for two years, with Trish citing "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for their separation. She is reportedly asking for an equal distribution of marital assets. (The former couple's five children are all adults over the age of 18.) Whether the split will materialize, though, remains to be seen. Billy Ray filed for divorce back in 2010 before the two reconciled and opted to make it work. Tish filed for divorce a few years later in 2013, but the two nixed that filing, as well.
