Bristol Palin is opening up about her ninth breast reconstruction, which all stems from a botched surgery she had as a teenager.
The former "Dancing With The Stars" contestant and MTV star — who's the daughter of former Alaska governor Sarah Palin — was asked by an Instagram follower to speak about going under the knife, and Bristol obliged.
"I got a breast reduction when I was 19. The doctor in Alaska cut me clear across [my chest] and it caused a ton of muscle damage, tissue damage, a ton of scar tissue," she said in a video on her Instagram Story.

For Bristol Palin, getting breast surgery is old hat by now. "I think I've counted nine surgeries since [I had a reduction at 19]. I've had implants taken in, taken out, just a ton of stuff," she said on her Instagram Story in September 2023.
"In November [2022] I went in for a surgery that was probably not necessary. [My breasts] were just a little lopsided and I wanted to get smaller implants so I went in for that and it ended up being a huge surgery and she had to go back in January [2023] and do a complete revision. But a lot of cosmetic, breast type surgeries because of that botched breast reduction when I was 19," she explained

In January 2023, Sarah Palin's daughter shared images after one of her surgeries.
"Praying this is the last surgery needed — I hate being a whiner but it kinda does put a setback/pause on life and that's why I've been fairly MIA," former "Teen Mom OG" star Bristol Palin said at the time. "Trying my hardest to stay positive, hype myself up, and remind myself that I have so much to be thankful for. I'm healthy, fully capable, and this is just an inconvenience cause things could always be worse."

Elsewhere on Instagram, Bristol Palin spoke about her decision to stop taking medication prescribed for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.
"I've been pretty MIA for a year — I stopped taking my adderall Rx and had those two surgeries within the last year — I gained some weight and it definitely took a toll on my confidence," she wrote. "I honestly didn't feel like posting anything. I also just enjoy my privacy much more the older I get."

In continuing to speak about her Adderall usage, Bristol Palin said, "I was always embarrassed being on them and when I read there was a huge shortage of adderall, it made me realize how many people were like sheep taking them." Bristol felt the medication was a "crutch."
"I don't want crutches in my life so I stopped," she said. "They also make you super impatient and I don't want to be an impatient mom."

Last year, Bristol Palin took to Instagram to reflect upon another procedure she ultimately regretted: "Thinking about that time I got my eyebrows microbladed," she wrote across a video featuring old photos of herself after she underwent the semi-permanent cosmetic tattooing procedure.
"Five years later and I'm still waiting for them to fully fade," she captioned the clip.
"Don't do it, y'all," she added to her fans.
