Cheryl Burke was once considered as a potential lead for "The Bachelorette," but her candidacy was ultimately rejected because of her drinking, the former "Dancing With The Stars" pro has claimed.
In fact, she said she heard that former "The Bachelor" franchise host Chris Harrison personally torpedoed her prospects of finding love on TV.
While appearing on on October 2023 episode of Chris's podcast, "The Most Dramatic Podcast Ever," Cheryl brought up the rumor.

While appearing on "The Most Dramatic Podcast Ever," Cheryl Burke recalled hearing that former "The Bachelor" and "The Bachelorette" host Chris Harrison himself rejected her as a lead.
"I heard you blocked that. Did you not?" she pointedly asked him.
"They put that on me?" Chris replied before sarcastically saying, "Yeah, like I have that much power. Like I have the power to decide who the Bachelor, Bachelorette is."
Chris scoffed at the notion that he sunk Cheryl's "The Bachelorette" chances, calling it "funny."

"So they told me that you said the reason why, they said that I didn't get to do 'The Bachelorette' because Chris Harrison said that you're a sloppy drunk," Cheryl Burke claimed on an October 2023 episode of Chris's podcast.
Again, Chris called the situation "funny."
"You know what's great and what's beautiful? They, in public, would never give me that power to decide who the Bachelor, Bachelorette [are]," the former longtime "The Bachelor" and "The Bachelorette" host said.
Chris acknowledged that he was asked on occasion who he thought would be a good lead, but "there's a lot of Bachelors and Bachelorettes that I didn't think [should be the lead]," he added.

Cheryl Burke was first tied to "The Bachelorette" in 2012.
"My dating record hasn't been great the past couple of years so if I have a chance to go on, I will," she told People magazine. "I'm getting old, you know, so it's something of interest to me."
The professional dancer believed it "would be fun to have a pool of guys around you" and it'd be "easier for me to meet someone to date."

Cheryl Burke eventually found love with Matthew Lawrence. The dancer married the actor in May 2019 and filed for divorce three years later. Their divorce was finalized in the fall of 2022.
Earlier this year in a TikTok video, Cheryl said she was "happily single."
