Nearly eight years after Halle Berry and Olivier Martinez split after two years of marriage, their divorce has — at long last — been finalized.
The former couple, who got together in 2010, married in 2013 and welcomed son Maceo before the year was out. They ended things in October 2015.
TMZ reported that even though the stars had a prenup, their divorce case dragged on (and on and on) because of unresolved issues concerning custody and child support.
According to a 33-page legal document obtained by USA Today in August 2023, the Oscar-winning actress and the French actor have agreed to share joint legal and physical custody of their son, who's now 9.

According to Halle Berry and Olivier Martinez's custody agreement, their son, Maceo, will split his time with both parents during the week and the stars will alternate custody on weekends.
There are a few exceptions, like school holidays, which USA Today reported will feature alternating custody for the entire period their son has time off.
And like many other divorced paraents, the exes will alternate custody on their son's birthday, Mother's Day and Father's Day.
Depending on whose house he's at, their son is allowed one phone call or video chat with his other parent before bedtime though it "shall not exceed fifteen minutes," according to the agreement.

USA Today reported that according to the terms of their divorce and child custody agreement, Halle Berry will pay Olivier Martinez $8,000 a month in child support plus 4.3% of all income she makes above $2 million annually.
She'll also foot their son's private school tuition, extracurricular activities, health insurance and therapist bills.
According to the plan, individual and family counseling has been suggested for the stars' child "no more than two times per month on Halle's custodial time."
Halle and her older child, daughter Nahla — whose dad is male model Gabriel Aubry, who split from Halle in 2010 — can attend therapy sessions with Maceo.
But Halle's current partner, musician Van Hunt, may not participate, according to the terms of the agreement.

One more thing the agreement lays out? Decorum.
Neither Halle Berry not Olivier Martinez "shall speak in a negative, disrespectful disparaging, or derogatory manner to, or about, the other Party or her/his family and/or significant other, or allow third parties to do same, to Maceo, in the presence of Maceo, or within Maceo's hearing range," the legal docs state.
And they can't do it in public or on social media either, USA Today reported.

Olivier Martinez's attorney, Matthew K. Skarin, commented to USA Today in a statement after the deal was done, saying, "The public documents filed in the matter should speak for themselves. The parties wanted more clarity in regards to Maceo's schedule and each of their respective time with their son."
