Burglary
A man broke into Kat Von D's on-the-market home late Saturday night as she and her 3-year-old son slept. TMZ reported the "L.A. Ink" star woke up to the sound of something at 10:15 p.m. on Feb. 5. She then saw a "beam of light moving about the house," the report claimed. Kat grabbed her son, got out of the home and called 911. When police arrived, they found a man just wandering around the home, even telling police he was buying the house and needed to use the restroom. The man, who hopped the fence to gain access to the grounds, was booked for residential burglary. Kat's home is rather famous, as it was featured in 2003's "Cheaper by the Dozen." The 12,000-square-foot property, which includes a blood-red swimming pool, was recently listed for $15 million.
Surgery confession
"The Real Housewives of New Jersey" star Jennifer Aydin is no stranger to going under the knife, but not all that surgery was needed. The reality TV star this week revealed that she had her chin implant removed. Back In May 2021, Jennifer underwent a rhinoplasty and chin implant surgery in her family's native Turkey. While she loved her new nose, her chin was a different story. "If two out of my three siblings have chin implants and then two doctors are telling me I need a chin implant, I think I'm going to get a chin implant," she told Page Six on Feb. 1. "But you know what? I don't think I needed a chin implant."
R.I.P.
Cheslie Kryst, an attorney and Miss USA 2019, died by suicide in New York City on Jan. 30. She was 30. "In devastation and great sorrow, we share the passing of our beloved Cheslie. Her great light was one that inspired others around the world with her beauty and strength. She cared, she loved, she laughed and she shined," the former Miss North Carolina's family said in a statement. "Cheslie embodied love and served others, whether through her work as an attorney fighting for social justice, as Miss USA and as a host on 'Extra,'" her loved ones added. "But most importantly as a daughter, sister, friend, mentor and colleague — we know her impact will live on." In her final Instagram post, which was shared just hours before she died, Cheslie cryptically said, "May this day bring you rest and peace."

Controversial week
Joe Rogan is lightning rod of controversy (again,) but he also has a growing amount of support. Last week, Neil Young began the Joe condemnation, demanding that his songs be removed from Spotify because the streaming platform hosts Joe's podcast. Neil agreed with a coalition of hundreds of doctors and public health experts who argue that the podcaster spreads misinformation about COVID-19 vaccines — and the rocker doesn't want his music on the same platform. On Jan. 30, Joe broke his silence about the controversy and apologized, vowing to "try to balance out these more controversial viewpoints with other people's perspectives so we can maybe find a better point of view." After posting his apology, hoards of celebrities publicly applauded the former "Fear Factor" host. Dwayne Johnson said Joe's mea culpa was "perfectly articulated." Katy Perry "liked" a tweet supportive of the apology. Jewel told him he was doing "a great job," adding, "keep it up." Some celebrities were still not willing to forgive Joe though…

Pregnant!
Rihanna and A$AP Rocky are about to be Mom and Dad. On Jan. 30, the "Umbrella" singer debuted her baby bump in New York City. Rihanna, a source told People magazine, is thrilled about becoming a mother. "Having a baby is something she was never focused on, but being with Rocky opened her up to the idea. She couldn't be happier and is so excited to be a mom," the source said. "She's loving all the changes to her body during pregnancy and has always celebrated pregnant women in her runway shows for Fenty." Meanwhile, Rocky dotes on RiRi. "Everything Rihanna does, she does it her own way on her own time table, and having a baby is no different," the insider said. "They're just like any other pair of parents-to-be. Yes, they happen to be famous but they're just the cutest, giddiest young couple that's expecting kids."

Suspension
ABC News announced on Feb. 1 that it was suspending Whoopi Goldberg for two weeks for falsely declaring on "The View" that the Holocaust was "not about race." Whoopi made the comment on the Jan. 31 episode of the daytime show. She then tried to explain herself on Stephen Colbert's late night show but only fanned the flames of controversy. Then, while back on "The View" on Feb. 1, she apologized. "I said something that I feel a responsibility for not leaving unexamined, because my words upset so many people, which was never my intention," she said. "I understand why now, and for that I am deeply, deeply grateful because the information I got was really helpful, and it helped me understand some different things." Throughout the week, Whoopi's name trended and many celebrities publicly condemned her words.

On-stage exit
Two "Masked Singer" judges left the stage in protest after Rudy Giuliani was unveiled as one of the faces behind the costume, according to multiple reports. Robin Thicke and Ken Jeong abruptly got up and exited after the former New York City mayor and lawyer to Donald Trump revealed himself. On the show, notable names dress in head-to-toe costumes and judges try to guess their identity based on their voice and other clues. The four judges — Robin, Ken, Jenny McCarthy and Nicole Scherzinger — typically banter with the mystery guest after the big reveal. Deadline reported that Jenny and Nicole stayed in their seats to chat with Rudy after Robin and Ken exited. The men eventually returned. Rudy has been a lightning rod of controversy for pressing baseless and debunked claims that the 2020 election was stolen. The episode is expected to air next month.
Daddy dearest
Nick Cannon is going be a father for the eighth time. On Feb. 1, the talk show host confirmed speculation that he and model Bre Tiesi are expecting a baby. But the "Masked Singer" host claimed he didn't break his celibacy vow — he claimed he decided to not have sex for a spell after finding out Bre was expecting. "My therapist was one of the [people] who said I should probably be celibate and the reason why is because I had shared that news about Bre being pregnant," he said on his show. "That was the reason why I started my celibacy journey back then. So for anyone who's thinking, 'Oh, he wasn't celibate,' I was!" After hearing that he had gotten a fifth woman pregnant, Nick said he "didn't know what to do" and was trying to "get a grasp" on life. "I felt like I was out of control and honestly, celibacy did help me through the journey of getting one with myself and being able to deal with this," he added. Oh, Nick said in October he was going to be celibate through the end of 2021. On Feb. 1, he revealed he "almost" made it.
Feeling broken
Simon Cowell broke his arm after crashing on his e-bike — again! According to TMZ, the music mogul was rolling around London and tried to turn a sharp corner on his e-bike, but wet roads caused his tires to go out from under him. Simon, who was not wearing a helmet, crashed to the ground. The British star was taken to the hospital and treated for a broken left arm, bad facial bruising and a potential concussion. "I'm OK. I'm feeling much better thank you. It happened just 'round the corner," the 62-year-old told MailOnline on Feb. 2. "I'm a bit of a nutter. I'll definitely wear a helmet next time." Back in 2020, Simon broke his back in three places after crashing on his e-bike.
CNN fallout
Katie Couric was surprised that longtime CNN Worldwide President Jeff Zucker announced his retirement, but she wasn't surprised to learn that an affair with network's chief marketing officer, Allison Gollust, was the reason for the sudden resignation. "I worked with Jeff Zucker for many years at NBC and later on my talk show. He was a talented and energetic producer. His resignation took me by surprise," Katie told subscribers of her newsletter on Feb. 3. "I've also known Allison Gollust since my days at the 'Today Show.' I've wondered about the nature of their relationship, but I do know, as I wrote in my memoir 'Going There,' that it made me uncomfortable. It seems their colleagues and the media at large turned a blind eye to inappropriate behavior." Jeff and Allison both admit their romance was "consensual." In "Going There," the former NBC News newswoman shared observations about Jeff and Allison, claiming he "made a huge push to bring [Allison] on" board at "Today," according to People. "They were joined at the hip," Katie, who hosted the "Today" show from 1991 until 2006, wrote. "There wasn't a role for Allison. Jeff asked me to meet with her anyway."
